Minecraft PS4 Fails Certification as August Creeps to The Close

It's likely that Minecraft will meet the August release date on PS4 after it did not pass Sony's certification tests. The game is now back at the fixing board at 4J Studios. The team will need to submit the game again for certification before it can be released. https://mcprofile.net/

4J has been hard at work resolving bugs and fixing issues throughout the month. This is not only for the PS4 version as well as for the upcoming Xbox One and Vita releases. We've contacted the studio to confirm that there is a delay, and whether that'll only affect the PS4 version or other platforms as well. All three versions are scheduled for release later this month.

Sony discovered a few issues during #MinecraftPS4's final test. We are working to fix them, but we still need to go through the entire procedure again.

- 4J Studios (@4JStudios) August 20, 2014 When they do hit, the Xbox One and PS4 versions of Mojang's game will be priced at $20 on digital storefronts. The owners of downloaded Xbox 360 and PS3 versions will be capable of upgrading to Xbox One and PS4 respectively for $5 - that offer will be valid for at least one year after the release date. In terms of what's new with the new ports expect bigger worlds and more draw distances than previous console releases.

The Vita version is cross-buy with PS3. This means that those who bought Minecraft on the console will be able to download the handheld version free of charge, while new buyers will be able to unlock the game on Vita and PS3. Like the other ports, the price for grinding your pickaxe on Vita is $20.
