this rentry was made due to constant rude and nasty comments made by other people, all because of spam following

if you're a pony.town player and use github, you may have noticed accounts that are 'spam followers'
these are most often alternative accounts that follow people through follower lists, and very most likely, don't read profiles before spamming !!these accounts aren't harmful in any way!!
this url is encouraged to be used by spam follow accounts to simply inform people ⠀

why would someone spam follow?

• it's often to gain a large following in a short amount of time, whether that'd be for clout reasons or for something else
• pt players, who have large followings on github, likely have that big of one due to spam following
• people who do this often don't mean any ill intent, and is quite normal for pony.town players

how do i know if someone is a spam follower?

• they label themselves as such, and/or link their main github account
• do not attempt to harass them over spam following, that's entirely on you, and makes you seem childish

a spam follower is on my dni list! what do i do?

• block and move on, it's not as big of a deal as you think it is - as mentioned before, they don't check profiles, and so they don't mean it with ill intent
• you also shouldn't go and interact with them about it, as you're breaking your own boundaries, therefore making you just as 'annoying' as you're making them out to be

• block and move on, they don't check profiles
• please also don't interact with them to let them know

i don't like spam followers, but they keep following me, what do i do?

• block, or make your github private to stop spam following
• github likely isn't the best place for you anyway, i'd try patreon
