Within plural spaces, there is a common misconception that in order to be a system you must have DID. There is also a misconception sourcing from the typical cause of DID being formed from repeated childhood trauma, and so the common misconception is that all people with DID must have had repeated childhood trauma. This is false. It invalidates all plurals of all kind, even those who have DID.
