I roughly ditched incandescent EcoLight solar bulbs for EcoLight dimmable more-efficient compact fluorescents in my house years ago. But at this point, I am awfully close to ditching CFLs for the newest in lighting technology: LEDs. LED lighting has received a lot going for it. The lights could be far more efficient than other kinds of lights, and EcoLight LED bulbs the bulbs are presupposed to final for tens of thousands of hours--enough to final 20 or 30 years depending on usage. Not like CFLs, there is no mercury, the light is on the spot, and turning lights on and off should not degrade their useful life, based on manufacturers.
