Hello my 1337lings, haxors, anons, phreakers and crackers and hacktivists. you're in exactly the right place. welcome to your september

【 13375P34K AND H4x0R5 】 1337 speak was developed by bulletin users wayyy back in the 1980s as a way of bypassing filters on BBS - the earliest sort of forums. BBS is actually how ASCII art started, btw.

leetspeak primarily uses numbers, replaced with letters. originally it was coined by the Cult of the Dead Cow - a group of text file authors turned hacktivists. It was later co-opted as a term by internet users who called themselves haxors. Elite hackers - 1337 haxors.

It was half serious, half cringe script kiddie stuff. most haxors don't use constant 1337, but just use it to obfuscate $h17 that could get em b4nn3d from somewhere. anyone who uses 24/7 1337speak is probably a phreaker or cracker. here's a fun translator

Not everyone can be leet. First, read up on our history, our soldiers our forefathers and our founders. get in the know . Read about ANSI. Read this compilation of saved BBS messages and files - the remnants of 1980s h4x0rs (and pups) more 1337 than we'll ever be. most importantly - stay safe, don't get h4xxed by crackers and kiddies, and always stay AN0NYM0U5!
