[13:29] Maria's smile was fervent as she entered the room. For the first time in a seemingly long time, she felt joyous. She had put the finishing touches on the revolver her brother had given her. And finally, was she ready to be his deputy. To join the Goldlight order and with him in tow, bring justice to the evildoers that wrought this land.
It was an excitable, joyous thing. She already was coming along in her training. Her trigger finger fast and ready to fire. She knew that with Levius, she and him would be unstoppable.
Like they promised, together forever. An unstoppable duo. Always at each others' sides, no matter what the world may bring.
For them, it was a lonely world. But Maria had solace in knowing in that she'd share this path with him.
A path now walked alone.
"..."
Sh sits on the couch, that smile still fervent. And yet the tone of the room shifts, she tilts her head, the smile turning into one of concern asshe gazed at her sibling. She knew that expression, had something happened? She wondered.
She watches Lavenza's gaze as they finally spoke. The words exit their lips, and are matched with naught but.
Silence.
"..."
Maria's expression shifts. In an instant, does she find her heart break in two. She clutches her chest, feeling an extreme, evident pain soiling her heart. Her face contorts into a furrow, a feeling she didn't want to ever feel.
Grief.
A sorrow deeper than anything one can imagine.
She didn't want to believe it. Closing her eyes, she blinks rapidly. As if trying to wake from a dream. This wasn't real. Lavenza was joking, right?
...Why would they joke about this?
"..."
Maria's body contorts, the girl starts to shiver, her eyes widening as her breathes grow rapid and unrelenting. The silence from her voice morphs into sniffles. Denial radiating from her form, tears breaking from her eyes as if a dam had broken in two.
Maria weeps, her heart tearing asunder with each and every second. She clutches her chest, holding in her breathes and every single damned emotion.
He was gone.
Naught but emotion fills her heart. Grief, sorrow...
Anger.
She stumbles, falling from the couch. She looked on the verge of fainting as the tears started to flow. They drip softly onto the wooden panels below, a single thought screaming from her throat.
"AAAAAAGGGGGGHHHHHH!!
Naught but sorrow.
She catches herself, folding her knees upon the panels. She continues to weep. For she couldn't even ask how or why this had happened. All that could be felt was the sorrow. The anger resonating in her heart at someone taken so soon. He friend. Her brother.
Her companion.
So unfairly, was he taken away.
Without any semblance of respect.
Taken away from her. A man of humility. A man of justice and kindness. Taken away by a another's petty desire.
And for what?
"..."
Levius was not even given a chance.
Why would she give Vyldrax one?

They wouldn't get away with this...
Even if justice was an illusion, it did not mean her own was the same.

[13:38] The girl's twin had nothing more to say. Nothing more they knew or could do. Nothing they could convey could make it better.
At least she didn't throw up, like they did. Her mind showed thoughts, feelings beyond the expected. The anger in her was obvious, an inescapable, tiny piece of herself given way to rage. It was obvious. Apparent.
And while her twin could speak, they'd have nothing more to say, until they float to the floor beside her, wrapping her into a hug. Hollow as they'd been for much of the day, hollow now, not letting their sorrow escape until their twin was taken care of.
They had no true words of comfort, only... "I know how you're feeling, Ria... i'm not out of the woods yet, myself. just remember... things will get better... they'll never be the same... they'll never be the same kind of okay... but they'll be better... and i'll be here for you."
Coddling their twin, pulling her close, holding her. Eventually they would begin to hum, lightly. Nothing in particular, just something to fill the air aside from her tears as they held her. Letting her process.
(Lavenza Malibu)
[13:39] Eyes watch as the one the same age as them was delivered the news. Eyes shift to Lavenza occultic mana flaring seeing the pain brought from one's actions.
She would watch as that's all she could. Whilst Maria wept, she began to feel numb. She felt, anger, hatred, she wanted revenge and blood when it was delivered the first time.
Now she only feels numb, a lack of feeling. Her eyes would drift off into space staring beyond this scene for just a moment. Before she would shake her head to snap out of this.
Finally, they would act. Arms of care would wrap around Maria. Her occultic mana finally begins to surge. Though it felt, warm and comforting in the embrace.
Gently pulling Maria into this embrace she had never met this person before but it mattered little. This person was hurting, she couldn't sit and watch whilst they grieved alone.
Sharing an embrace with her better half. She would just stay silent she was toldshe was family. So she will treat them like she were her sister. Letting them grieve in the arms of Lavenza and Herself.
(Sacilia Orstein)
[13:48] How could they understand? How could they ever understand!?
Levius was everything to her. And he was taken away. Just like that. Taken away.
And for what?
Her emotions toil. The embrace from Lavenza felt empty. What else could they do for her?
It's all your fault. It's all your fault, it's all your fault!
IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT! her mind toils. Was it Lavenza's fault? Would they still all be together even if they didn't pursue the arts that they did? Would their family still be together if they had not gotten captured?
Was it truly?
Or was it the fault of the man that hated them so?
She knew she was weak. She knew she couldn't hope to ever kill a man such as Vyldrax.
Yet would she try.
Someday...
"..."
She continues to weep. Despite Lavenza coddling them, does she mark no reaction besides a delicate, softened whimper. She doesn't react, she doesn't embrace them back. She merely sits there in her sibling's arms, tears flowing from her eyes. Taking more than enough time to finally cry all her tears away.
They were both hollow.
Will it? Will it ever get better? she ponders. Maria did not know.
Another wraps their arms around the tiniest Malibu. They both coddle her, as Maria would cry for what seemed like hours.
One would wonder how long it would be, before she finally rises. Coddled in the embrace of family, it was a fact that she still wasn't alone.
She didn't need to be.
She didn't need to walk this path completely alone.
Who knows how long she'd sit there weeping. Her tears pattering alongside the wooden tiles. She rises. Wiping away her tears. It didn't matter what time it was. It didn't matter how long it had been.
She huffs, rising into the deepest pits of her heart. Her mind, it's neurons crossed and all, would find a remarkable act from the mute.
She speaks.
A simple word, as she clutches her chest. Straining herself and her crossed mind.
"..W-..wh...w-..>"
"...Wh-..."
"Why?"
Her voice escapes her lips. A furrowed brow given to Lavenza, tears wiped away, yet sclera a fervent red.
It gave a look of sorrow. Of grief and melancholy. Yet deep down?
Passion.
Bravery.
A fervent glare, an echo of her soul.
That she would never let this happen to anyone ever again.
(Maria Malibu)
[14:04] Despite all expectations, the twin would be answered. The hateful immediate thoughts she didn't truly mean, they would be answered by the budding telepath. Only she would hear the enby's voice say
"{Yeah... it probably is my fault in some way.}"
They wouldn't unwrap, from her. They would continue to hold her, hug her, make sure she knew she wasn't alone. Answering again in turn that
"{Yes, it'll get better... It hasn't been long for me... but it's starting to be better.}"
"{It just takes time and love, hon.}"
as they continued to hold her. Beaming the feeling of love into her mind, the feeling of being amongst, not alone. Though there were two people, it would feel like ten.
Though, as she opened her mouth to speak, the enby would begin to say 'don't stress yourself'... but she made sound. A word. A clear word. Pride beamed through the twin, and in turn back to their twin, a feeling of pride, happiness despite. The feeling of some small victory.
The irony would be that the enby doesn't trust their own voice, right now, and would answer without opening their mouth again, though this time transmitting into both minds, not only Maria's.
"{Ari... your first word!.. such a grim time to have it...}"
"{There is no 'why' hon. He was killed because Vyldrax wanted him dead.}"
"{No reason... no good reason.}"
"{No just reason. A monster killed him, because he was not one.}"
"{That was all... I'm sorry.}"
Her eyes, the emotion in them would register for their twin, but... it was secondary to the pain they saw in them. They would stare back near-hollow, despite Maria's spirit immediately rising up through the tragedy.
She always was a hero.
(Lavenza Malibu)
[14:10] "..."
'...No, it wasn't.'
'It was their fault.'
No reason. No reason it at all.
At least Maria had a reason to put a bullet in his head.
Perhaps not today, perhaps not tomorrow. But someday...
If only she could turn back time. If only she could prevent this from ever happening.
Alas, all she could do was live. It was what Levius would have wanted. To see her live.
To see her walk her path, and become the person she was meant to be.
Maria nods. Her first word was a solemn one. She strained herself, trying to say it, clutching her chest. Yet it was evident it was made with naught but love and care for the man who had departed.
She'd avenge him someday. But for now?
"..."
She turns away, tears wiped away, yet never forgotten.
She wasn't alone, at least. There was solace in that.
Maria nods, walking away. She gives a expression of sorrow, perhaps needing time to herself. Time to cope and understand. To decipher her emotions.
Without naught a word, she walks away toward her room. It was best to give her time. As it was just that, that healed all wounds.
Even if all that was left were scars.
(Maria Malibu)
[14:11] Lavenza Malibu would just give her one more hug. Speaking with their voice for just one moment, quietly.
(Lavenza Malibu)
[14:12] Lavenza Malibu whispers: ...you don't always need to be strong... whenever... ifever you need me...
[14:12] Lavenza Malibu whispers: ...i'm a door away.
[14:12] Maria Malibu says, "..."
[14:12] Maria Malibu nods.
