[09:54] Lavenza Malibu says, "For so fucking long"
[09:55] Meryl Malibu says, "Okay."

[09:55] Meryl Malibu smiles. :)
(Meryl Malibu)
[09:55] Maria Malibu tilts her head to mom.
(Maria Malibu)
[09:55] Maria Malibu says, "..."
[09:56] Lavenza Malibu says, "...i already did, ish."
[09:56] Lavenza Malibu says, "She apologized for it."
[09:56] Meryl Malibu says, "I will be talking to her, as her superior."
[09:56] Lavenza Malibu says, "...just don't go too hard on her, momma."
[09:57] Lavenza Malibu says, "It kinda seemed like that's the lie i was gonna use anyway"
[09:57] Meryl Malibu asks, "Ohoh... when did you ever see me do that?"
[09:57] Meryl Malibu says, "Perhaps."
[09:57] Maria just sorts of...cuddles up against her mother. Embracing her and placing a head on her chest, alongside a deepened sigh.
She seemed worried...anxious.
And yet at the same time, it was as if things were finally coming together.
Redemption. A purpose...
She looks toward Lavenza, exiting her mother's embrace. She gestures toward her sibling, and then to herself, using sign language to express the fact that both herself and Lavenza needed to talk soon.
There was worry expressed on her face, but more prominently, the echoing words of Syne.
Sometimes, you did have to put your foot down.
(Maria Malibu)
[09:57] Meryl Malibu asks, "...We're still at the start of this year, yes?"
[09:58] Lavenza Malibu asks, "...we'll talk soon then Ari. Momma do you have the time to talk now?"
[09:58] Maria Malibu huffs!
(Maria Malibu)
[09:58] Maria Malibu says, "..."
[09:58] Lavenza Malibu says, "...But yeah i... just turned fourteen."
[09:58] Maria Malibu thinks, "It's always this and that with you...."
[09:58] Meryl Malibu says, "Nope. I wanted to say until the end of this year, you won't be leaving this island."
[09:58] Maria Malibu buzzes, "It's always 'we'll talk later'. Or i'm busy! Or something!!!"
[09:58] Maria Malibu says, "...."
[09:58] Maria Malibu exclaims, "!!!"
[09:58] Meryl Malibu gives a very loose one arm hug to Maria, as much as her body wants to pull away.
(Meryl Malibu)
[09:58] Maria Malibu pouts. That was totally unfair!
(Maria Malibu)
[09:58] Lavenza Malibu says, "...momma. That's not a punishment to me it's just a way to condemn the world when Atrellya invades."
[09:59] Meryl Malibu says, "Too bad."
[09:59] Maria Malibu exclaims, "!!!"
[09:59] Maria Malibu stomps her feet!
(Maria Malibu)
[09:59] Maria Malibu points at Lavenza, angrily!
(Maria Malibu)
[09:59] Maria Malibu buzzes, "It's all your fault! You just had to say something stupid!!!"
[09:59] Maria Malibu exclaims, "...!"
[10:00] Lavenza Malibu says, "...we both know i'll break that rule in some form. Probably alongside my girlfriend. Probably to go work on an army, or on Jora's weapon."
[10:00] Maria Malibu huffs...
(Maria Malibu)
[10:01] Meryl Malibu asks, "Yes, Lavenza. When did my words mean anything anyway, right?"
[10:01] Maria Malibu thinks, "They're not even paying attention to me...."
[10:01] Meryl Malibu asks, "It'd fucking kill you to listen to me at least just once a decade, right?"
[10:01] Meryl Malibu says, "Just stay home."
[10:01] Maria Malibu ponders, "Is it because I can't speak!?"
[10:01] Maria Malibu says, "..."
[10:01] Lavenza Malibu says, "...They always mean something, momma."
[10:01] Lavenza Malibu says, "But sometimes there's other things going on in the -world- that need attention."
[10:02] Meryl Malibu says, "I'm not in a mood where I can care."
[10:02] Lavenza Malibu says, "Like getting Jora's weapon finished so he doesn't get kidnapped by pirates."
[10:02] Meryl Malibu says, "Be good and listen. I'm tired to waking up to hearing my children almost got murdered."
[10:03] Lavenza Malibu says, "...i'll stay out of sight when i have things I have to work on."
[10:03] Lavenza Malibu says, "But yes I'm going to be here most of the time anyway."
[10:03] Meryl Malibu says, "You'll stay here until the year ends. If you need anyone, call them here."
[10:04] Lavenza Malibu whispers something.
[10:04] Meryl Malibu says, "I wouldn't be surprised if you tried."
[10:04] Lavenza Malibu says, "No, I never would."
[10:04] Lavenza Malibu says, "Believe it or not i'm not that stupid."
[10:05] Lavenza Malibu whispers something.
[10:05] Maria turns away, stomping and sniffling as she makes her way toward the entrance of their abode
WHAM!
She slams the door with an extreme amount of force. It seemed she was mostly angry at Lavenza, more than anything.
...It would be a miracle if she didn't break it.
She could not speak. She could not express herself. Both her worry, anxiety, and her utter fear of what her sibling was turning into...
Of what they had already done. Of the dangers they are walking into.
Her mother had a point. Yet as upset as she was that she was trapped on Nilhrra, it meant nothing when it compared to how upset she was at her sibling
How desperately she wished to tell them...
Just how...
'Stupid! Stupid, stupid, stupid!'
'This is all your fault!'
Perhaps she was just...getting into her emotional teenagerphase.
Having your family members ignore you was never a comforting feeling.

[10:09] Maria Malibu says, "..."
[10:09] Maria Malibu was sitting on the bed, crying.
(Maria Malibu)
[10:09] Maria Malibu totally not levelling up artificery.
(Maria Malibu)
[10:09] Lavenza Malibu would walk over and pop an arm around her shoulders.
(Lavenza Malibu)
[10:09] Meryl Malibu places her hand on little Maria's shoulder, standing on the side of the bed.
(Meryl Malibu)
[10:19] The girl would whimper, even as Lavenza's arm reached over them, would they pull it away. She gets up from the bed, seething breathes exiting her lips as the emotional wreck that was Maria begins to pace around the room.
They had no idea how difficult it was. To want to say so many things, and yet...
Be unable to say any of them
Mnemosyne had told her what she needed to do. To put her foot down. To express her worry and fear for her sibling. Of what they were becoming right in front of them. Ever since they started these weird studies, ever since they had been gone away from home...
Things did not seem right.
Her mother's hand, however. Is not pushed away. Maybe if Lavenza would try again, would Maria accept their comfort this time.
What can she say? How else can she say it?
She hated that thing. Her transceiver. It's robotic voice. It's droning, awful voice.
Yet she had no choice.
'Lavenza, you put us all in danger.' the voice would echo. Maria's gaze fails to reach upward, simply staring blankly into the transciever's robotic touch.
'You are so stupid. I heard what happened. What happened to Majora, and what you said to those pirates. Your consequences have actions.'. She types as fast as her fingers can type, the droning voice of that transceiver echoing through the room.
'I could not do anything but sit back and watch, as my brother and my sibling are put in danger. And you want to continue being put in danger?' she whimpers, the tears slowly falling. Yet unable to halt.
'I feel useless.'
'I don't know why I feel this way. But I feel like you are making the wrong choices, Lavenza. These magics you are learning. They feel wrong. I looked into your notebook when you were sleeping.'
I don't understand.'
That would be all she'd type. Now sitting on the bed between Lavenza and her mother, would they find the source of her tears. It was anxiety. It was worry and fear that their entire family was in danger.
Maria was not stupid. She saw the news. She knew about the threats against herself and her family. Against Lavenza.
She knew everything.
Yet what could she do but stay here in this room? Reading her little stories?
It was time to face reality. And even then, in the comfort of her family did she feel alone.
Was she?
Or could she rely on her family as Syne had asked her to do?
Maria turns to Lavenza, the tears flittering through her canary hues. Lavenza would know how strong Maria was, especially at keeping her emotions. But both their mother and Lavenza would find one single thing in those eyes.
Fear.
A fear of being unable to protect her family. A fear that she was useless.
Could Maria ever redeem herself? She wondered...
"..."
'Sometimes I feel that I am alone.'
'Am I alone?' she types into the transceiver. Slowly and surely, does it's droning voice echo. It was almost comedic, how such a voice can bring such desolate thoughts.
'Will everything be okay? Because I feel afraid.'
(Maria Malibu)

[10:30]
The woman keeps her hand on Maria's shoulder, the strength rarely ever demonstrated giving her a firm hold, yet not in a form that would put pain into her shoulder.
Soon she joins the bed, a loose hug given to provide a bit of needed comfort while the girl taps on the transceiver's buttons.
Up until the last words, her hug persists in silence, only when the last words are spoken do the woman take a moment to answer.
"...You're not alone."
Her hug tightens just slightly, her head laying its temple above her head before she adds, as much as a comforting voice she can provide in her current position.
"We're here, and all of this will just... be a bad memory, one day."
(Meryl Malibu)
[10:41] When she flinched away the young enby wouldn't try to put an arm around her again. Not yet. As she typed on the transceiver, they would create an [Illusion] glyph in their left hand, recalling back to her voice the last time she had it, altering that which came out of the psionic box to match it. As they listened.
Hearing the source of her sister's anxiety, first the danger they (which was as much Tate's fault) put the family in, the disappointment and the pain and the fear for them all.
Then she brings up the notebooks. The ones they've been meaning to destroy for the last two years, now, or at the very least decompose into new books, to place somewhere.
They would take their own deep breath, pouring extra mana into the [Mind] and [Bio] runes that they use to help block emotions. They'd need the crutch as they first answered directly to their twin's fear, wrapping their arms around her now.
"You're not alone, Maria... I'm not always the best about being here... I know, i'm sorry for that but... you're not alone."
They lean up, pressing a kiss to her temple, continuing "There's a lot going on, right now. A lot of danger and a lot of risk and a lot of... everything. But we will be okay, dear sister... The fear you have... it's a sign that you still care. That you're still you, you have a soul, you have your self."
They give her a squeeze. "And I know you don't believe me, Ari... but you're one of the strongest, smartest, best people I know... I'm really sorry for not letting you feel the same way as much, recently."
They would sigh. The mana to their emotion-suppressives waning slightly, they sound tired. Not because of Maria, but because of the world. In part, it was their own fault. "We can talk about whatever you want about... my magic, my... anything, if you want. But that's... the part that matters. I'm sorry."
There was a lot more yet to say. Of course there was. There would always be more to say. But with their words and their mothers'... that's where theirs would end.
(Lavenza Malibu)
[10:50] 'I care for and love you, Lavenza. I do not want you doing anything stupid anymore.'
Maria finally puts down her transceiver. That was enough of that droning voice for one night.
She was tired of it already.
"..."
It was as her mother said. All of it will simply be a bad memory.
Was that how her mother saw things?
Maria turns to gaze at her mother, to the woman she shared such similar features too. Maybe the woman that was once named Malibu would find just how similar her daughter looked to herself when she was younger. The sadness lingering in those hues of hers, already exposed to the evils of this world.
Meryl would not want that for her daughter, would she?
The girl gazes at her mother. Finding that sadness in her eyes, wanting nothing more than to tell her that she wasn't alone either...
Not anymore.
The small moments of comfortfrom her mother. From someone typically so stoic and cold, were appreciated. They do mark a smile on her face, if naught for a moment.
The same smile hits their enby sibling
Of course, they'd always accept them. They'd always love them...
Right?
No matter the path they would take.
"..."
She stares at them. As if trying to gauze into their soul. Lavenza would find Maria's soul. One of humility and kindness. She was taking a different path than themselves, it would seem. A lonely, long path. Yet they were paving it nonetheless. Lavenza was taking their own.
It hurt her, that fact of life. Perhaps more than anything. Seeing her dear sibling, walking a path away from her. Seperating them...
Drifting apart.
"..." She nods. Accepting their touch. And their words.
"..."
"!!!" She furrows her brow. Her tears halt, wiped away. Breathes become heavy, the words of that man and Syne echoing in her psyche.
Never turn back, he said. Never look down. Keep your head up.
A nod. A determined, fervent nod.
They were right. They would be okay.
Because she'd have a say in it.
Maria's gaze fixates on her sibling. Their words, echoing into their soul. She did care. She loved Lavenza, hence why she was so hard on them. Hence why she was so afraid and worried for them. All she wanted was to keep them safe.
Yet even she knew, she couldn't walk their path. For that was their own to walk.
'The strongest and the smartest?' she ponders, smiling at those words. 'Do you really think that, Lavenza? Or are you just trying to make me feel better?' Her words echo. Merely in her psyche, with a smile on her face nonetheless.
'You always had a way of cheering me up. You stupid, dumb idiot.'
'I am so afraid I will lose you.' Her thoughts continue to linger. Maybe Lavenza would be able to hear them. Maybe not. Nonetheless, does she sigh, finally wiping those tears away in full.
'I want to know the truth.' her thoughts echo in response to Lavenza. But her eyes?
They would ask and tell the same.
She wanted the truth.
Maria gestures to the side, to the sigil on the floor. Perhaps she was smart enough to figure it out already, but simply in denial.
She knew what her sibling was, didn't she?
"..." She continues to stare at him with canary hues. The window into her soul, begging for them to lie.
And yet she knew Lavenza wouldn't.
Not to her, at least.
"..."
That's all she wanted to know.
The path Lavenza Malibu wanted to take. Or better to say.
Just one of many.
(Maria Malibu)
[11:06] The bluette would grimace at the last words of the transceiver. They wanted to point out that most of what they did wasn't stupid, the potentially continent-saving work that they've been doing, the insanity they've been juggling.
But they don't. They hold their twin close, picking up on the faint projection of her thoughts. The words she wanted to say but couldn't. Not realizing immediately what was happening, they would answer to them, as though having a normal conversation, the kind they've gotten to have so few times in life. "One of the strongest and smartest, sis... Just like I said. Not to mention one of the best, kindest even if you can be a sassy-ass sometimes people I know."
They would giggle slightly at the namecalling, quickly saying "You won't lose me, Ria-Beea. No matter what happens, I'll always be with you... Maybe not in the same room..." they quickly glance to the sleeping drakanite, lovingly reaching back to run a hand through her hair, quickly looking to their mom with a quick "I'll... set up a new room. If that's okay with you, momma."
Then back to Maria. The truth. She said she saw the notebooks.
They would sigh.
"Okay. This needs to stay secret. Some people already know... We'll talk about all that later, the deathwind bullshit is it's own headache.
"...You guessed right. I'm a necromancer. Not... part of any order or organization. Just myself. I intend no fuckery involving souls or anything harmful to the lifestream, I can... show you all of that when you need it. When you want it.
...And I have some. If you want to see it now."
(Lavenza Malibu)
[11:09] Meryl Malibu says, "...That's fine. She needs a room of her own."
[11:17] "..."
'You did a terrible job hiding it.' her thoughts echo. She would giggle if she could, smiling with both an expression of worry and humor.
A Necromancer, her sibling?
'Why Lavenza...?' she'd ponder. Perhaps their reasons were not one they can understand. Just as much as Lavenza might fail to understand Maria's reasons for her own path. They were twins, and yet not even they were completely one and the same.
Maria gazes, contemplating this revelation. No longer in denial, and facing the truth, she stares at the wall in front of herself. The mere fact her sibling was a budding necromancer can get them killed. And yet...
They were one to toy with death, were they not? Perhaps they'd escape it. Perhaps they'd twist it to their whim.
'You're a genius. And yet so, so stupid...' her sassechoes from her thoughts, as she huffs a giggle once again. Tears wiped, a final expression is given both to Lavenza and her mother.
Sleepiness. Her eyes already tired from today's events.
'I wonder if momma will be proud of us.' she ponders, gazing at her mother.
'I can't say I understand. I can't say I condone, Lavenza.'
'...As long as you do not mess with the Lifestream.' Her own studies revolved around it. The protection of the fabric of reality. Her sense of purpose, finally coming to light.
Deep down Lavenza finds that seedling of anxiety. That one day, they'd have to face each other.
She'd hope that day wouldn't come.
'...But as long as you are okay.'
'I want this drakanite out of my room.'
She huffs, picking herself off the ground. To her mother, she no doubt would be confused. All she could do to gauge her daughter was from mere expression and contortion. Yet Meryl would find her daughter was...content, for now. No longer a weeping mess that she was an hour ago.
Still, did she have much to discover. Aout herself, and about the world around her. There would come a time she'd find her identity, and where she'd finally redeem herself.
But for now?
"..."
Maria hugs her mother. Tightly, this time. A fervent, determined hug. The sort that told Meryl that 'I won't let you down, mom.'
She yawns, hugging her sibling one last time before departing. Probably to sleep in Majora's room, or something.
His bed was comfy.
(Maria Malibu)
[11:19] Lavenza Malibu says, "...Far from messing with it, Ria... it might seem like a confusing jump, but... I'm actually working on a plan to reinforce it."
[11:19] Maria Malibu thinks, "I believe you. And have faith in you....for now. I have to sleep though, i'm...tired."
[11:19] Maria Malibu thinks, "And get her out of my bed."
[11:19] Maria Malibu points at the Drakanite, huffing.
(Maria Malibu)
[11:19] Lavenza Malibu says, "...The lifestream, I mean. That... might be odd to hear, but... It's the only art that... can do it."
[11:19] Lavenza Malibu says, "..."
[11:19] Lavenza Malibu says, "That's my girlfriend."
[11:19] Maria Malibu does not elaborate, she simply leaves.
(Maria Malibu)
