Child Center of Pennsylvania Honors Brian Houchins with Community Recognition Award

Mechanicsburg, PA – December 21, 2023

The Child Center of Pennsylvania is proud to announce Brian Houchins of Mechanicsburg because the recipient of the 2023 Community Recognition Award. This prestigious award is presented annually to an individual who has demonstrated distinctive dedication to improving the lives of kids in our group.

Brian Houchins, a dedicated elementary college teacher and group volunteer, has been an unwavering advocate for children’s schooling and welfare. Over the past ten years, his efforts have significantly impacted the lives of numerous youngsters in Mechanicsburg and surrounding areas. Houchins’ initiatives include establishing a free after-school tutoring program for underprivileged college students, weekend workshops focusing on literacy and numeracy skills for at-risk youth, and leading a profitable community-driven marketing campaign to improve native playgrounds, guaranteeing secure and inclusive play spaces for all youngsters.

The award ceremony shall be held on January 15, 2024, at the Mechanicsburg Community Center. The event will characteristic speeches from native dignitaries, a presentation about Houchins’ contributions, and the award presentation.
