Camp Maki Bond episode 1
M: Hey Sensei, listen for a bit.
M: Now matter how you look at this, it's a crime isn't it?
S: What happened?
M: You know how large the size of the study area is right?
M: [Clean up all the leaves here by myself]
M: That's what I was told by seminar!
M: Don't you think they're being bullies by targeting us?
S: it's definitely tough to ask that of one girl...
S: Were you suddenly told this out of the blue.
M: Actually...
M: I put some graffiti on the Millennium Monorail.
M: They didn't look too happy about it...
M: Maybe it was because of that?
S: I wonder...
This weekend, I visited Millennium to help Maki clean up the fallen leaves.
Maki sweeping
M: Sensei, thanks for coming!
M: This really isn't looking possible with just one person.
S: I can't help you for the whole day.../But I have time until noon.
M: All good. I'm glad you came in the first place.
M: None of my senpais in Veritas even bothered.
M: Chihiro-senpai said I wouldn't learn remorse unless I did it myself.
M: Hare and Kotama were too scared of the cold to go out.
S: It has been pretty cold lately.
S: I can see you're wearing thick clothes today.
M: Yeah, it'll suck if I catch a cold here.
M: Just a while ago I couldn't stop sweating because of how hot it was, but now it's the opposite.
M: With all these fallen leaves, it already feels like winter. Time's been flying.
M: Wait, we don't have time for chatter!
M: Let's get started. Sensei.
Afterwards, I cleaned up the fallen leaves with Maki
After 1 hour
M: That was quicker than I thought.
M: Look, Sensei! That stack of leaves is as tall as me!
M: Hmm, it could pass for art.
M: Come to think of it, autumn leaves are pretty strange.
M: Most things in nature have a low saturation of colours, but said colours are still visible from a distance, aren't they?
M: If normal animals were this colorful, the world would be a lot more vibrant...
M: Why is it that the usual colours of animals and plants are so boring?
S: It's for the sake of survival is it not?
M: Why...?
S: It'll be too easy for predators to find you./You'll get eaten if you stand out.
M: Ah, now that you mention it...
M: With both graffiti or hacking, the more flashy, the bigger the reaction. That's why people see scribbles everywhere, and get attacked by anonymous hackers...
M: I thought bright colours would have had the effect of stimulating competitive spirit.
S: It's not true for everything though./Look at flowers of peacocks.
M: I see... if you keep your true colours hidden, you won't be good at meeting others.
M: When I drew graffiti, I've met some meanies, but overall more good people.
M: If I never did graffiti at all, I wouldn't have had been able to meet everyone at Veritas.
S: I think the colour of your hair's pretty too.
M: Eh...?
S: Whenever I see your hair in a crowd/It always fires me up./Same with your graffiti, of course
M: That's...
M: I get what you mean, but... whoa!?
Maki falls over
S: Maki, you alright?
M: Y-yep.
M: But the leaves got everywhere. We'll have to clean up again.
S: We'll clean it up soon enough./They're easy enough to find.
M: Yep.
M: Thanks, Sensei.
