You sit in the oppressive darkness, your tired eyes stare at a worn out photo. It's surface barely illuminated by your lamp.

inhale

A lungful of tobacco smoke, nicotine constricting the vessels in your brain. You feel the rush, as you take a sip of whiskey directly from the bottle.

The photo was of a woman, a beautiful woman. She stands on a small stage, behind her a large piano and a gentlemen playing on it.

You

She's smiling, a beautiful sparkling sapphire dress with a plunging neckline. The long fabric cascading down her bountiful body. A long slit, exposing a beautiful moon-pale leg.

Even through this worn and faded photograph you could feel the life from her. Her haunting blue eyes stare into the camera, she's nervous and anxious, but she is not afraid.

You sitting behind her, playing with your once deft and dexterous fingers. You look unto her with a smile, but also caution. You were her rock, if you made a mistake on the keys it would be her ruin.

Your promised her.

For I can't help falling in love with you her voice, enters your mind like a virus. So long since you've last heard it.

Her nerves were so difficult to calm, no matter how much you tried assuring her. You didn't give up. You were patient, and you were kind. She needed it. She deserved to shine.

Shine she did.

You remember that night, all those gazes that fell on her. It was a gala, one for your former boss. A hundred guests all celebrating. You wouldn't have blamed her if she flaked out.

She didn't, she continued on even with her doubts and worries. You were there every moment.

It was a success, she was swamped with a standing ovation. Your boss even tried to ask you for her number. You refused, you started off as friends but you slowly became defensive of her.

You told yourself your relationship was purely platonic, but depending on each other made you question yourself at times.

You decided to pop the question, after all was said and done. When you were packing up and driving her back home.

You asked her

You mind if I stayed over a bit

Would have things been different if you had asked something else?

Ouro Kronii.
What a gal.

You rub your tired eyes, your wrinkled old hands not like they once were. You hear the vibration of something. You look at the table, a small rectangular device and on it's screen it had a single word

Sonroniii

You grumbled and picked it up

"Dad, where the fuck are you?" Uh what a vulgar brat.

"We're at the airport with mom, Krunny, Krinny and your grandkids. Get your lazy ass out of the house and pick us up." you curse under your breath.

Fucking hell, curse your wife for spoiling them.
