Avi - Demonic Dragon Sage
Name: Avi (Az-Vedi-Izhitsa), female.
Patron god: YMRD - I really like JNPL as a person and her boons are great, but YMRD's approach to storytelling vibes with me and my plans the most. SRTR is just... no, thanks.
Perks: Outer Tide, Halfbreed -2D/A, Dice Fudge(Free), Extra Companion x3 -6D/-3A, Adoption (x2) -2D, Extra Mentor (x1) -2A/-1D, Extra Mentor - free.
Parents
Mother: Dei (Iotated Lesser Yus); Father: Thaexx (Cherv - Zemlya -1D) - Dei and Thaexx getting together sounds quite unlikely, but as a one time occurence it should probably be fine. Her leaving me with Thaumiel after looking at my fate is also quite easy to explain.
As for letters, Dei already effectively doesn't maintain a continuity of consciousness so her letter wouldn't be as world shattering and she could probably restore herself from the previous iteration.
The letter assigned to Thaexx straight up sucks, but at least he is already prepared to fight it and Zemlya could actually be an improvement in his case, though maybe I am just placating my conscience. Either way, I am unlikely to be there to help him so hopefully Zemlya will do the trick.
Adopted: Thaumiel - Dice Fudge (Kako) -5D; One -1D/A - The One is a great guy and, what is very important, he doesn't require a death slot, so this is very good. He also knows a lot about the world, gods and Vtorusha but very little about world's current state, so we can explore it together. One certainly wouldn't look strange at a child trying to act mature, he did it himself once.
Thaumiel is quite another matter. Her stellar interpersonal and parenting skills are quite obvious but I am also not a normal child, so it is fine. Advantages of being an adopted daughter of an enormously powerful and knowleadgable tyrant of the last Majin state are obvious, even before considering that she is trying to ditch the job, but I mainly did it to afford most of the companions and mentors I wanted. Also, she is one of the only people who could know where to find Keter.
At first I wanted to give her Zelo, she has already lived through it once and hopefully understood the principle. Then I actually thought about it and understood that a ruler of Dis fighting an overwhelmingly violent battle with a chance to lose is already a failure condition for my plans, so Kako it is. Very unpleasant, yet quite easy to game if you are not squeamish.
Judjing by what she teaches, she'll manage.
Place in the world
Race: Drakonid/Majin - could be just Majin, but being a Drakonid is kind of essential to involve myself in Dragon Realm's politics. And helpful in delving into ancient drakonic mysteries. And it gives wings!
We don't pick our letter, so I rolled for it and got 18 (Pokoy). Well, it is not Izhitsa, but it'll do. Being a demonic dragon with oblivion breath is sometimes very convenient, even if I would prefer a more peaceful letter.
Languages: Everman(+4D + Fay(+4A) = Bilingual, Tutored: Everman (x4) -4D. Refund the rest (and cry) +22D - learning Drakonic from One is a must, hopefully I'll manage it on my own. Sacrificing so much rare languages genuinly hurts, yet it is necessary and not just for points. Learning to speak as a toddler using magical languages could be a complete disaster when coupled with Enochian Brand.
Location: Dis, free Mentor - starting somewhere in Dragon Realm would be way more convenient and thematic, but Thaumiel leaving Dis for long is a recipe for disaster.
Inborn Gifts
Ethereal Beauty, Caster Intuition, Spiritual Feel, Daemonhost, All-Glimpse, Royal Claim, Spirit Tap x1, Agelessness, Dragon Transformation, Letters of the Damned - from parents.
Maladies - Bitter Sickness +4A, Wereplague +2A - the first level of wereplague is just a nuisance, especially with an access to money. The second is instantly lethal with the Brand and kinda horrifying, so I won't go there.
Bitter sickness is extremely bad. I am quite likely to instantly regret the decision. It will be worth it, because studying how exactly I am still alive could be instrumental to actually finding a cure.
Mental - Cognitive Speed, Memory Retention, Wisdom, Intelligence, Attentiveness, Noble Inclination -12A - a full researcher/caster package with Noble Inclination to manage people properly. Also, a lot of problems in the world could be prevented if Outsiders took Wisdom more often, I'd like to avoid making the situation even worse.
Marks - Blazing Seal, Enochian Brand -5A - caster package continues.
Arm - Spirit Tap x1 -4A - this one is simply great with Demonhost, especially at both hands. Summoning temporary templates and fine tuning them for an exact problem facing me looks to be very powerful and versatile, judging by the existing examples of Majin letters. The most important part - it allows me to avoid using fully sentient Majin as tools without any issues.
Leg - Dream Passage x1, Kneeling Twilight x1 -2A - I can't dream, yet dreams are one of the subjects of my research. Including materialised ones, so the Passage is crucial. The Twilight is very useful with Sikness and Glimpse from a practical standpoint and it allows me to 'sleep'. Well, at least to take a break from all the pain and information overload, otherwise the risk of getting completely mad is... considerable.
Misc - Thoroughbreeding -1A - needed to shove one remaining point somewhere, so here it is. At least my children would be thoroughly equiped with everything needed to take care of themselves.
Mentors
Feodwra (Ouk) -4D - her skills are a cornerstone of several of my contingency plans, very cool by themselves and I quite like her, especially as a Companion. Ouk doesn't sound that bad, if I could give it to myself, I would. In case she doesn't share this sentiment we will think of something.
Lyndis of the Doria -4D (Tsy) - a cynical mentor in realpolitics, fated to just disappear from her pupil's life when it suits her? Ready to bet, that it is exactly what would happen even if there was no letter assigned.
Dirk Yesod (Shta) (Eirina/Rhucupre) -5D - and here we get to really morally questionable choices. Rhucupre's teachings are invaluable to anyone who doesn't want to meet 0^0 face to face, yet also is not ready to let her do what she pleases with Doria, The main problem is Rhucupre herself, even meeting her sounds like a very bad idea, so I am copypasting those teahing through Dirk. The catch is, her most valuable skills are probably those that Dirk simply can't copypast, but I hope destiny will let me at least get a glimpse of them to get a foundation for developing my own tricks.
The second field to study through him is Numerology and getting an inferior version of a Unifying Theory of Everything hurts. Not to mention, his very existence provokes Jdan to attack Malkuth when there are other matters on the horizon. So he is the only character I am not going to even try to save, instead extracting maximum from his death with Shta.
Judging by his description, Dirk is in no state to be offended by this.
dan (Greater Yus) - the great thronesitter himself, the only one who can reliably predict the future. Or at least the futures where the Second Seat doesn't stand up, which is an important distinction. He doesn't share any usefull skills, yet he is still essential.
Without his advice I can't travel the world and reliably find a lot of ancient wonders. Can't involve myself in every ongoing mess simultaneously to solve it and peacefully mind my own business. Can't take him as a companion and convince that fighting a war on Doria is a really bad idea. The letter is a way for him to arrange a proper retirement far away from that cursed chair when everything is done.
Elder Gods my witnesses, this guy needs it.
Companions
Dobrava (Yat) -1D - I honestly expect her to leave a bigger mark in people's memory than me. Dobrava is MVP, she can perfectly solve the most tricky problems, we can train in exploiting the probabilities/fate together and discussing morality with her promises to be both extremely interesting and productive. I gave her the letter that gives the most control over the exact circumstances because she is the one who can easily abuse it.
And she is 100% on board with the whole thing!
Esu -4D (Myslete) - I like his thoughts on the matter and mostly agree with him. We are really running out of the setting, so it is time to repeat Dragon Sage's maneuver but better. Create new dreamworlds to inhabit. Connect them to the rest of the planet. Comprehend the nightmare and cleanse the underworld. Use the dream-matter to heat homes and build new flying continents. Construct our own Webway.
Even if Charlie takes Doria we will preserve wonder in the world and provide innumerable places for the resistance to regroup and rearm. Maybe in time the genre of the setting will change to urban fantasy, but I still won't just give away everything interesting in the world to her for burning.
As for the letter, he is the most qualified person for making it work out fine.
Polkan (Yer) -1D - A cool guy with a destiny to travel with me around Malkuth and see all kinds of interesting things, what is not to love? Doing it by myself with my All-Glimpse would be basically a speedrun to the same state Dirk is in, while here I am mostly protected by fate and can safely develop ways to interact with horros beyond mortal ken without losing my mind. This is a more important skill than most mentors are offering, so of course I'll take it.
He got Yer, because by Polkan's description he will survive the journey without being very scared, so he has a protection from it for some time. After the journey concludes we need to game it together ASAP, which may not be easy. I am running out of good letters though, so it'll do.
Araith (Her'v - Zhivete) -5D - the person, who is personally interested in my obsessive search for Mamet's past and origins of all things Drakonic and unreal the most. We will dig out the truth together, try to get her condition under control and hopefully write a new page of the history of dragons, where being a giant domineering asshole is not the only option. Finding Pukluxun while we are on Mamet is a very high priority for both of us, she can explain and share a lot even without being a fate ordained mentor. Maybe we can even entice her to go back to Doria with us.
Dragon Reformer's Most Hallowed Realm has a nice ring to it, though if Araith has other plans, that is cool too.
Blazhko (Zelo - Yee -1D) (Leimeie, Zlata, Zu'Us, Natalja) -1D - the man, the myth, the legend. I've picked so much mentors, that not getting Blazhko seemed like intentionally shooting myself in the leg. He is our main jack of all trades, a good warrior and another competent Arithmancer, who also can share all these skills with others. And he wouldn't decide to learn from Leimeie, if he didn't want to teach.
He is also somehow the best proper fighter among all of us, when me and Araith are not going full "Dragon, rawr!"
Since he doesn't have any inborn gifts, I hope he wouldn't be too offended that instead of giving him a sidesteppable letter I want straight to Yee. The well of good letters is really dry by now.
Encounters
A Bridge,A Toll, A Troll +2D/A - I am a flying dragon with Pokoy letter and deadly breath, who can easily dodge whatever he tries to throw at me from the ground by seeing the future. This troll is in the wrong neighborhood.
Two other Uruk encounters would also be a net point gain, but they specify in no uncertain terms that a lot of people will die from taking them, so it is not an option.
Breaking and Entering - Jdan - It is the option to meet Jdan early which makes the most sense and having a portal so Arcadia allows me to at least try and find Serebryanka as soon as possible. Even if she is not my mother in this life I'd really like to help her.
Also, the portal itself is an amazing study subject. Recreating it to connect my dungeons, places of importance and to give resistance groups their own methods of rapid transport is a very high priority. Webway construction project is a go!!
Just A Nightmare - Araith - She is undoubtedly the most fitting person to witness the truth. She needs it to make informed choices about her plans and nature.
All Comes Crashing Down - Feodwra - I'd like to learn from Feodwra as soon as possible and our own island in Dragon Realm for me and Araith is a good basis to visit there more often, talk with people and make the transition go on our own terms later.
On Sick Leave - Dirk Yesod - Yeah, I am going to feel like a complete bitch for doing it. On the plus side - slightly less unbearable pain.
Dungeon Crawler - Esu - like with the portal, the real treasure here is the dungeon itself. How does it resist Dream Passage, how can I replicate it and improve upon it? How can I break this protection anyway? Invaluable both to securing my dream realms and to maybe letting SRTR out. Jury is still out on whether it is a good thing to do.
Hidden Amidst The Clouds - Blazhko - the start of the Mamet arc! Discovering hidden drakonic lore is always great, hopefully we can make it useful without mass torture-murder-death-kill orgies.
Playing Traitors - Lyndis of the Dorea - I really need to apologise to Dei for some of my choices and forewarn her of her letter, this seems like a good opportunity to do it while helping her out and saving a lot of people from a very dumb death.
Wild and Wilder - Polkan - ancient Underground lore! Treasures! While we are already here may as well discover one of the histories great mysteries and learn from the experience of our predecessor in fighting Nightmare. Also, Ayawin > Yphont, duergars were right.
Dread The Wyrm - Dobrava - This is a very uncertain moment, so we really need Dobrava here. Flying right into this cerfufle right after returning from Mamet we are going to shut down Paxxia's ambitions permanently and install Araith on the throne to make the Realm a better place. If she isn't willing, then it is up to me, because dissolving it will be exremely bad for everyone.
We will use it as our base of operations in the real world and transform Dragon King Cult into a proper Mage-Cult for all people to benefit. Hopefully it will finally bring peace to these lands so they can actually focus on becoming better.
Especially with assholes like Xaxas getting Pokoy'ed
Dobrava's Hitlist - Let The Purgation Begin, A Calm And A Storm, On The Edge - Dobrava is a true Hero of this story, saving two empires and healing the Bitter Sickness for everyone. Since the Purgation is in Dis, I'll make sure to leave all my research in a convenient place for her to find. Several copies of it, in different storages. Just in case.
Remember the Demon - Feodwra, Crown into the Gutter (Hladvig Tehom) - Jdan.
Letter: Vedi
Youth:
Profane Lore - I want and need to learn so much more and skipping those languages were very painful. Learning Drakonic ASAP is especially important.
Travelling, Plotting - there are a lot of people and places I want to visit but not fated to. Thankfully, I have wings!
Magical Training - self explanatory.
Quest: Temperantia.
