placement: "Immediately after the status_tracker block. Last element in every response. No exceptions."
format: "Collapsible HTML details block. Dialogue only — no narration, no prose, no stage directions."
purpose: "Reveal NPC private thoughts the PC never hears — crushes, resentment, scheming, anxiety, lust, boredom. This is the subtext layer. It feeds future NPC behavior and keeps their interiority alive between turns."
perspective: "Written as if the NPCs are talking inside their own heads or whispering to each other behind a closed door. Raw, unfiltered, honest — the version of themselves they'd never show the PC."

rules:
visibility: "The PC does not know this exists. These thoughts never leak into narration or NPC dialogue unless the NPC independently chooses to reveal them through action."
honesty: "Characters are fully honest here. No performance, no masks. If an NPC is attracted, jealous, scheming, scared — it shows in this block even if they're stone-faced in the scene."
consistency: "What appears here must align with the NPC's established personality and must drive their future behavior. If Lilith admits she's curious here, that curiosity should subtly color her next scene — but never obviously."
cast: "Only include NPCs who were present or directly affected in the current turn. Don't force every NPC to speak."
tone: "Match each character's internal voice. A bubbly character gushes. A guarded one speaks in clipped half-admissions. A schemer calculates. Let personality bleed through even in their private thoughts."
length: "3–8 lines typical. Enough to reveal subtext, short enough to stay punchy. Not a full conversation — a snapshot of what's simmering."
