"You ready?" She asked of the little girl by her side, wearing a school uniform and carrying a bouquet of flowers, primrose to be exact.
"Y-Yeah..." The little girl responds quietly, sadness tinting her soft voice.
The older woman kneels down, cupping the girl's face in her hands.
"Hey, it's gonna be alright." The woman said assuredly, she wouldn't admit it but this was tough on her as well.
"Let's go." Kronii took the little girl by the hand, guiding her through the rows of stone.
The cemetery was quiet, devoid of any sound but that of the wind and rustling leaves.
"What was he like?" The girl asked, deafening silence too much for her to bear.
"What was he like?" Kronii repeated wistfully, looking up the clouds.
"A pushover."
"A loser."
"A dog."
The little girl blinked at every word.
"Then how did the two of you even get together." They paused, Kronii stopping in her tracks.
She looked back at her, the fruit of her relationship with him.
She kneeled once more, caressing the cheek of her little girl.
"He made me happy, and he loved me." The little girl stared at her, she never saw her mother like this.
"No matter the timeline, no matter the circumstance. Every time we met, we ended up falling in love again and again." The tears were starting to form.
The little girl hugged her, she didn't want to see her like this.
After their poignant moment they resumed their journey and reached their destination
A gravestone
'Here lies anon, he kept his promise, date of birth:∞, date of death:∞'
Kronii bent down, removing the withered flowers from last time and instructing the little girl to place the new bouquet in.
The both of them were silent, observing the slab of stone.
"Hey dad." The little girl croaked out, using the sleeves of her uniform to wipe away her tears, her mother's arms embracing her.
"Hey honey." Kronii said, softly stroking their daughter on the head.
"You must be getting impatient, you just need to wait a little longer. She's only started manifesting her powers, once she controls them. We'll meet again."
The little girl stared at the gravestone.
"Yeah, we'll see you soon dad."
