Kim Min-seon (24, Uijeongbu City Hall) won a bronze medal in the women's 500m at the 5th International Skating Union (ISU) Speed Skating World Cup.
Kim Min-seon beat Erin Jackson (36.90) and Kimmy Goetz (37) with a record of 37.22 in the women's 500m at the 5th competition of the 2023-24 ISU Speed Skating World Cup held at the Utah Olympic Oval in Salt Lake City, Utah, on the 28th (Korean time). It ranked 3rd after 2008 (USA).
Kim Min-seon, who won the bronze medal at the ISU Speed Skating Four Continents Championships held at the same venue on the 21st, behind Jackson and Goetz, had to be satisfied with the bronze medal a week later.
Min-seon Kim, who started the race in a group 9 in-course, ran the first 100m in 10.53 seconds, 6th place overall. He was 0.09 seconds slower than Goetsu, who ran alongside him. Kim Min-seon did not waver and ran the race vigorously, taking third place.
In the final group of 10, Kim Min-seon's bronze medal was confirmed as Femke Kok (Netherlands) recorded 37.26 seconds and Inagawa Kurumi (Japan) recorded 37.36 seconds.
Kim Min-seon, who added 48 World Cup ranking points, is in second place with 400 points, following Jackson (434 points).
Lee Na-hyun (Nowon High School), who also competed, took 5th place with a personal best time of 37.34 seconds.
