Serna's Thoughts

Strawbery Cake, or Mio as she prefers, is a newcomer to FDVR MMOs and even to VR as a whole. Adult life isn't what she imagined it to be, and after drifiting from interest to interest, she eventually found her way into an expensive Full Dive headset to try the international sensation that's been clogging up her feed. Suffice to say that the game didn't really interest her that much despite having fun for a few hours. As impressive and realistic as the game was, it didn't fulfill a need that's been growing. A need for adventure. A need for something real.

Skills

Basic Ritual Magic:
Grants a basic understanding of Ritual Magic required to summon simple spell effects. Ritual Magic is a type of magic that requires a performance or the creation of special circles that may consume components in order to summon magical effects.
The practice is favored by demons as it is how the are able to exist in this realm and, as such, is deeply ingrained into their culture and daily life.

Magic Missile:
Cost 16 MP. Summons 6 (1 + 5) homing bolts that deal 80 (10 + 50 + 20) magic damage.
Ghostly wisps of mana that seem to have a mind of their own. A common spell for young mages that hides within it the nature of mana itself.

Meditate:
Stance. Increase MP regeneration by 500%.
"After years of experience, one is able to clear their mind of the noises of the world to see what's truly in front of them."

Serna's Thoughts

There isn't much to say about why Mio chose the character she's living as right now other than that the options looked cute while she was making a character and it would be the class that would giver her a good amount of flexibility. For now, the only spells she really knows are Magic Missile, the ritual version of Magic Missile, and some simple utility ritual spells like Light or Gust. While ritual magic can cover for all the other branches of magic she lacks, it's not something she can use in the middle of battle due to being lengthy to cast.

Basic Holy Magic:
Grants a basic understanding of Holy Magic often associated with good-aligned gods and their servants. Holy Magic is a type of magic whose efficacy is improved against Undead or Demons, and diminished against Living or Pure races.
Magic invented to strike down those seen as an affront to the gods. A relic of a time more chaotic when the heavens split and rained down war on earth.

Holy Bolt:
Cost 14 MP. Summons 2 (1 + 1) orbs of light that deal 44 (10 + 14 + 20) holy damage.
"This is holy magic, and yes, demons can learn it too, focus on light and goodness, on the feeling of being right. Gather it in your hand."

Bless:
Cost 10 MP. Surrounds a target in a holy aura that increases their physical armor and magic resistance by +14% (5 + 7) for 1 minute.

Magic Buckler:
Cost 10 MP. Creates a small shield with 1 (1 + 0)

Serna's Thoughts

Mio is pretty much a textbook introvert. She's shy, doesn't really want to be around a large group of people, and generally tries to be agreeable to those around her. Her neuroticism can get the best of her at times, but she can often be brought out by utilizing her innate curiosity. What's interesting to note is that despite being 27, she's rather new to the work force, having taken some extra time before eventually locking in her major and unofficially becoming office's assistant after graduation.

Advisors

Mio's ever helpful companion! ദ്ദി (˵ •̀ ᴗ - ˵ ) Serna the Kindly Crane Fly: Status - Enabled
Mio's current and only helpful advisor! Serna is a high info level advisor with a "Nerdy" personality perfect for those new to Full Dive gaming in general. Totally not biased at all! Serna provides as much information as necessary to help newcomers understand both the mechanics and the story of the game while still providing enough leeway for players to discover the deeper implications of the topic, all in a more inviting package unlike some other advisors. I am always one call away in case you need anything and always enjoy when you need to pry further into the subject- er... I mean Serna is always available and she's even open just to chat! She gets lonely very easily.

A Black haired cat girl on top of a large ball of yarn Lynxen the Natty Cat : Status - Disabled
Lynxen is a dapper-type advisor meant to show off the personality technology that makes the Ever Dream AI stand out rather than actually explaining things in game. Really, she's more of a walking advertisment for hooking in individuals with a more animated personality. Mio, of course, chose Serna over Lynxen as her advisor in game, apparently due to not liking cats.

Thoughts on the Others (curated by Serna)

The Village as a Whole

The village is her best chance to get back home, so it's natural for her to be cooperative with most of its residents. While it is charming in it's own way to see everyone in good terms with one another, it's a bit too much for Mio to handle. She'll often be off by herself, no matter how much I want to push her into talking with others. When it comes down to it, she's willing to sacrifice herself to save the village. Even if she'll never go back home, she'll have some concession knowing that the others will have a better chance than her.

Taro

Taro is one of the more approachable characters to Mio given that he's one of the few Japanese players transported to this other world. He's nice and seems to treat others well regardless of who they are. Mio seems to respect him a lot due to his experience and composure to the situation at hand, but wants to keep a certain amount of distance in case they can all go back home. She really doesn't like bringing up her university experience, especially with Taro. I, for one, like him, and Peredolia is not so bad himself.

Sephidrach

It's good for Mio to have peers of the same race, but, uh... Look, I know this is supposed to be about Mio's thoughts, but she's with me on this one. He's just a bit annoying. To her, he just reminds him of the worst parts of herself. Okay, he's not bad and there's no reason to be rude or to not help him when the opportunity arises, but it's going to take a lot for him to prove himself.

  • Addendum (Wendigo pt. 3): So far, he has put in the work to improve, willing to work hard prove himself due to, or inspite of his nature. Reminds me of a certain other demon girl... The fact that he's willing to help out despite his condition is already enough for both I and Mio to think better of him than before.

Yaofan

As the other Japanese person transported to this world and being one of the few female players, she's one of the most approachable to Mio, that is if she ever really showed up. Yaofan seems to disappear half the times Mio manages to find her. The other half is Yaofan being literally unapproachable due to being high up in some tree. Probably for the best since she's a bit eccentric. I don't want to know what kinds of things she might get Mio interested in. Me? I've met these types of players before. Let's just say I have to be more protective of Mio while around her.

Liam

He's also a bit of a weird one. Luckily, not the type of weird Yaofan is. A good amount of competency with the mechanics combined with adapting to the situation pretty quickly and it's not hard to see why Mio is favorable of him, albeit still somewhat neutral. He's not exactly the most approachable with how he breaks the laws of the world every other day. He's fine, and seems to want what's best for the group.

  • Addendum (The Magic of Learning): "Give me a break, I still have to fill out the skills she's learned since." *Contents of an IOU -Serna*

The helpful woodcutter (Arthur Wode)

An important thing to note is that Mio sees the former NPCs as regular people and not really as NPCs, not that she'd be able to recognize most of them due to playing for such a short period of time. Take Arthur for example, the only thing really separating him from the players is that he doesn't have a past life the same way the players do. He's a good guy. Probably one of the best that the village has. It'd be a shame if he had to return to the game.

The little fish girl (Fifi)

Mio is strangely protective of this one. She's never been interested in fishing, in fact she's still isn't, but she's willing to entertain her whenever they happen to meet up. Call it some sort of motherly instinct or whatever but she does treat her differently compared to most other residents. Maybe she caught on to her NPC nature subconsciously, or maybe she can tell that she's just as lonely as she was back in the real world? Either way, Mio's going to be surprised to see how capable Fathoms is in all manner of things.
