The Expert Guide To Item Upgrader
World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Item upgrades are a way to boost the stats of an item. Depending on the upgrade type, it may raise an item's Mark level or Rarity, and also boost other stats.
Each item has a track for upgrading it. Each upgrade increases the price of the next item by a specified amount.
Item Level
When an item is upgraded, its base stats increase in value. The value is the sum of all its leveled up advantages (attack magic attack, attack defense). Upgrades to items can be costly, depending on the upgrader and the type of upgrade you choose to make. This is due to the number of perks that must be modified to upgrade an item.
It can also be used to enforce gating requirements when queueing for dungeons, raids and scenarios. It can also be used to limit how much PvP gear players can wear since PvP is not available at a lower level. Players can view their average level of item on their character sheet.
Using the item level can help players compare the strength of equipment when deciding to purchase or sell. It's an indicator of the item's condition and its quality. The level of the item can be used to compare items when evaluating the inventory of a seller.
The item level can be seen by pressing the ALT key on a PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will show the full description of the item, as well as its value. It is also accessible by hovering over an item using the mouse cursor and entering /itemlevel into chat.
There are several theories on how the calculation of the item's level is done. One theory suggests that the level of an item is calculated by an equation that determines the worth of an item's stats really are. It considers that different perks are valued differently, and that gems in sockets increase the item's value. This can lead to an item's ilvl which is calculated and is often very close to Blizzard's real item level.
This is not the only factor that influences the value of an item. The location of where the item dropped can also alter its stats. For instance, it could add a level to the item's haste or crit rating. This means that items dropped at higher levels will have more ilvl than those from lower-level instances.
Item Stats
The item's stats can determine the fate of an item for players. The game utilizes them in many ways to encourage players to not restrict themselves to a particular weapon and to motivate players to experiment with other weapons. The stats of a base weapon are increased by the weapon's stat modification that are in turn enhanced by the player's level.
Upgrades to the item add by increasing certain stats of the item. The rarity of an item determines the cost of upgrading. A white or grey item for instance, will only be upgraded once, while an item that has rare tiers can be upgraded multiple times with higher prices.
Another method to alter the stats of an item is to use affixes. They are stat boosts which can be added by the player to an item. Affixes are used to give items additional damage, special capabilities (such as revitalizing dead or reducing cooling downs) or to differentiate them by naming them.
All affixes can be currently re-rolled by selecting them in the upgrade window and pressing the green button. This will cost a specific amount in gold and other items. These can be used as upgrade gauges as with other rerolling methods.
In addition to Rerolling affixes and rerolls, players can select which of the available stats to keep on an item when it is upgraded. The range of stats determined by the item's level. However, all items will include at least one stat within that range unless they are an item that is unique or an item that has a God Roll from a boss in a raid.
This is another thing that can be modified by adding an option to upgrade the equipment without rolling the affixes or deciding which stats to enhance. As with the base equipment, it would have to be done per item and the item comparison interface would not display all the possible stats at once.
Item Luck
The Luck stat of a player stacks up to increase the likelihood of finding items as well as the properties that appear on loot drops and the intensity of the properties. However, it doesn't directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives players the chance to acquire better equipment in earlier waves and is therefore more beneficial in early game runs than later ones as most players prioritize more powerful weapon scaling and defenses over raw damage gains.
In addition to influencing item discovery, Luck also increases the chances of being successful when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. This should not be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade chance that increases with each level of the item and can be further enhanced through the use of an anti-material such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.
Armor, shields and weapons come with an initial Luck value of 40. These items can be upgraded with golden ingots, spined leather or oak boards (depending on the item's material type) to grant a further +40 Luck or to increase the Luck of the item up to 140.
Certain items, like the weapon that is infused with hollow can also be crafted to increase the damage of any ability that is able to deal damage by 5percent. These items are available in the shops or made by using the appropriate ingredients.
Item Failure
Not all upgrades work. Cash shop items can be used to increase the chances of success for an upgrade or to stop players from losing their item if it fails.
When you upgrade an item the rate of success is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the probability of successfully upgrading the item, and it can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. item upgrades of success can only be increased by so much, and the likelihood that an upgrade will fail cannot be greater than 100%..
The success of an upgrades is also influenced by the luck of the item. Every item has an average success rate of 25% and each item with Luck increases the chance of success by 5percent.
The item upgrade overlays are rendered above items in the inventory. This could cause obscurity to enchantment effects or other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
