Peter Pan: Ootori Kokona
Tinker Bell: Shizuka
Wendy: Niizuma Yae
Act 1 -
Wendy was a dreamy girl who loved fairy tales.
That night, Wendy was telling her little brothers fairy tales by the window, enjoying the night breeze.
Suddenly, they heard their dog Nana barking, then a boy leaped through the open window of the children's room.
To the astonished Wendy and her brothers, the boy introduced himself: “I'm Peter Pan.”
He explained that he loved the fairy tales Wendy told and had been listening to her stories every night from the roof.
Tonight, Nana had spotted him and started barking, so he'd rushed into the children's room in a panic.
Peter Pan asked Wendy, “Come to Neverland where I live. Become the mother to the lost children separated from their parents and tell them fairy tales.”
Wendy was bewildered by this sudden request, but when Peter Pan described Neverland as a truly wonderful place, her brothers became completely enthralled.
Seeing Wendy still hesitating, Tinker Bell, the fairy who always followed Peter Pan, sprinkled the sparkling, shimmering dust she carried on her body over Wendy and her brothers.
As soon as the dust touched them, Wendy and her brothers began to float. Guided by Peter Pan, they soared into the night sky.
Experiencing this fairy tale magic firsthand moved Wendy deeply.
Perhaps, just as Peter Pan said, Neverland really was a wondrous place full of magic...
When Wendy finally decided to go to Neverland, Peter Pan was overjoyed.
Act 2 -
Neverland was just as Peter Pan had described-a truly enchanting place.
It overflowed with wondrous things unseen in the human world, and teemed with creatures not of human origin. It was the fairy tale world Wendy had longed for.
Peter Pan took Wendy everywhere, embarking on adventures.
Together, they looked after the Lost Boys, ate delicious food, and when danger threatened, Peter Pan protected her.
He never left Wendy's side for even a moment.
Tinker Bell grew jealous of their close bond and began teasing Wendy.
This enraged Peter Pan, who angrily declared he would no longer speak to Tinker Bell.
Enraged, Tinker Bell told Captain Hook, Peter Pan's arch-enemy, about Wendy and the boys' hiding place.
Captain Hook immediately headed to the hideout and kidnapped Wendy and her brothers.
“Why...? Wendy, where did you go?”
Peter Pan is distraught, deeply hurt by the loss of his precious Wendy.
Seeing him like this, Tinker Bell, tormented by guilt, tells him Captain Hook has kidnapped Wendy and the boys.
“What!? I have to go save them!”
Peter Pan flies frantically to Captain Hook and bravely battles him.
After a fierce fight, he manages to rescue Wendy and the boys at the last moment.
After returning to the hideout, Tinker Bell apologised to Wendy and Peter Pan.
Peter Pan also apologised to Tinker Bell for cutting ties with her so abruptly.
Witnessing their reconciliation, Wendy announced she must return home soon.
Though she enjoyed the adventure, Wendy worried her parents might be concerned about her.
Peter Pan reluctantly agreed, but he desperately wanted to find a way to stop Wendy from leaving.
Act 3 -
While Wendy was preparing to return to her home in the human world, Peter Pan secretly slipped out of Neverland and headed alone toward Wendy's house.
He wondered if he could somehow prevent Wendy from finding a way back to the human world, or perhaps even make her lose her desire to return.
That was the thought that occupied Peter Pan.
Arriving at Wendy's house, Peter Pan watched from a distance.
He noticed all the windows in the house were wide open.
Listening closely to the voices inside, he realised it was Wendy's parents who had done this.
It seemed they had opened every window, filled with the hope that “Wendy and the others, who had suddenly disappeared, could return anytime.”
Peter Pan closed all these windows, thinking, “If I lock them, Wendy and the others won't be able to come home!”
He began closing the windows, and just as he was about to close the window to the children's room-
He saw Wendy's mother, Mary, gazing up at the sky, tears streaming down her face.
They were tears of a mother's love for her children.
Deeply moved and shaken, Peter Pan flew away without closing the nursery window.
And then.
Wendy and the others left Neverland and returned home safely, reuniting tearfully with their parents.
Though Peter Pan reluctantly bid Wendy farewell, her mother Mary granted both Peter Pan and Wendy permission to visit Neverland for one week each spring.
Peter Pan and Wendy were overjoyed.
Act 4 -
Time passed-
One spring night, at the Darling home. Peter Pan appeared through the open nursery window.
He approached the bed and spoke to the sleeping girl.
Startled, Jane-Wendy's daughter-jumped up.
Peter Pan, who had spoken thinking she was Wendy, also looked surprised.
Learning Jane was Wendy's daughter, Peter Pan grew angry, accusing Wendy of breaking their promise.
Wendy, hearing the commotion in the children's room, came down and was astonished to see Peter Pan again.
“Wendy, why did you grow up without asking?”
Hearing his story, Wendy pointed out that it was Peter Pan who had forgotten the promise.
She had only granted permission to visit Neverland for one week each spring, yet by the second year, Peter Pan had completely forgotten that promise and never visited Wendy again.
Time passed, and when Peter Pan finally arrived on a whim, he encountered Jane.
After hearing about Neverland from Wendy and Peter Pan, Jane begged to go there herself.
Wendy felt conflicted, worried Jane might face danger, but she allowed it, thinking Peter Pan would protect her and that her daughter's longing for adventure was probably just like her own.
Peter Pan thanked Wendy, and the two made up, becoming close friends again, just like when they had adventures in Neverland.
More time passed.
One spring night, Peter Pan visited the children's room.
The one he invited to Neverland was Margaret-Jane's daughter, Wendy's granddaughter.
Aftertalk -
Shizuka
I'm so glad ‘Peter Pan’ was well received, Kokona. People say you played the heroic, cool boy perfectly.
Ootori Kokona
Thank you. Shizuka-chan's Tinker Bell was super cute too!
Ootori Kokona
I wonder what the other's ‘Peter Pan’ will be like? Since it's double-cast this time, the audience should enjoy it even more.
Niizuma Yae
I'm very curious too. I've seen the rehearsals a few times, but Hiiragi-san told me to focus on my own performance.
Shizuka
Yeah. It's complicated because we'll inevitably be compared, but that just means we have to work harder not to lose.
Ootori Kokona
Yeah...you're right. (Team B's performance...I hope it goes well.)
