The Best Aliens In Cartoons

One of the best parts about cartoons is the lack of limitations to the stories that can be told. The series is only held back the talents of the writers and artists. Almost anything that can be imagined can be drawn.
For this reason, cartoons and animated series provide us with a variety of different characters, including visitors from other planets. Today we want to talk about our favorite aliens from cartoon series. Enjoy!

Roger (American Dad)

Roger is one of the main characters in Seth MacFarlane’s American Dad. He is an ancient alien that secretly lives with the Smith family. Many people compare his role to that of Brian from Family Guy.
Roger is a sarcastic opportunist who likes to create mischief to improve his place in life. That said, he does seem to love the Smith family. In fact, he is allowed to live with them because he saved Stan’s life prior to the series starting.

The Great Gazoo (Flintstones)

Who thought there would be aliens in a cartoon about the stone age? The Great Gazoo is an alien from the planet Zetox. After being exiled from his people Gazoo finds himself stuck in Bedrock with Fred Flintstone and Barney Rubble.
The Great Gazoo has been voiced by many actors, including Harvey Korman, Maurice LaMarche, and Flula Borg. Parodies of Gazoo have been created by Seth Green and Seth MacFarlane. Allen Cumming’s horrifying live-action portrayal of Gazoo can be seen in the film Flintstones: Viva Rock Vegas.

The Aliens (Toy Story)

We all know these guys. The annoying little aliens found in the Pizza Planet claw machine. The Aliens in Toy Story series have green skin, three eyes, and wear a Pizza Planet-branded outer space jumpsuit.
The Aliens are voiced by Jeff Pidgeon in the main series of Toy Story Films. They are voiced by Patrick Warburton in the television series and spinoff films.

Zoidberg (Futurama)

Zoidberg is a lobster-esque alien found in the cartoon series Futurama. He is the crew’s doctor, though he does not seem to know much about practicing medicine.
This crustacean-like alien is voiced by Billy West, who also voices Fry, Professor Farnsworth, and Zapp Brannigan. Zoidberg is usually seen wearing a doctor’s coat, blue shorts, and matching flip-flops.

Mooninites (Aqua Teen Hunger Force)

The Mooninites are recurring fan-favorite characters from the Adult Swim animated series Aqua Teen Hunger Force. Ignignkt is portrayed by Dave Willis, and Err is voiced by Matt Maiellaro.
The Mooninites are real scumbags. Their main motivation is to mess with our heroes Master Shake, Frylock, and Meatwad. They are vulgar and egotistical.

Visitors (South Park)

Aliens, known as Visitors to the characters, have been a part of South Park since the very first episode (‘Cartman Gets An Anal Probe’). In the South Park universe, Visitors have an appearance that is purposefully stereotypical of aliens seen in science fiction. They have grey skin, skinny bodies, giant heads, and big black eyes.
While the Visitors have not played a large role in the long-running series, they do show up from time to time and cause havoc in the small mountain town.

Kang and Kodos (The Simpsons)

Kang Johnson and Kodos Johnson are two alien characters found throughout The Simpsons. Kang is portrayed by voice actor Harry Shearer. Dan Castellaneta plays Kodos.

Superman

A character that needs no introduction. There have been many Superman cartoons throughout the years, with the first being in the 1940s. Though Superman looks like a human in his appearance, he is actually an alien. Superman stories have been told in almost every medium and form of entertainment, including cartoons.

Ben 10

Ben Tennyson may be a human boy from planet Earth. However, he has the power to turn into ten different alien creatures (hence the name Ben 10). Tennyson can switch between these alien forms through the use of a device called The Omnitrix.

Invader Zim

Zim is the titular character of Jhonen Vasquez’s Nickelodeon cartoon series Invader Zim.
Invader Zim tells the story of alien Zim and his robot, Gir. The duo has been sent to Earth to take it over for their planet. Luckily for us, Zim is not the most capable invader. This leads to a variety of hilarious situations.
The half-hour animated comedy originally ran from 2001-2002. While the show was not the most popular series during its original airing, it has developed a large cult following over the years.
