I made my discord account April 16th, 2020.

I wanted to find a friend, a lover, an anyone, willing and able to help me out of my life. I was scared, I was told it wasn't possible by my entire family. I was being led down a life I never chose because I have been extremely isolated since birth. I am sorry for not sharing my life honestly for however long we've known each other, or maybe you're just a friend of a discord friend willing to help a queer person escape a dangerous situation. I've only recently learned the truth of my very early (0-12) childhood which has changed how safe I feel here. I finally see a way out, so, I am desperate to escape. Give me some time to share my life, I'm finally allowed to tell you about it.

I was forced to move states to return to my very complex religious family in another state due to COVID, COVID was hard for a lot of people but especially for me. I was forced to abandon my escape plan back then, and I have been trying to play catch up ever since. I've made a lot of mistakes as I've uncovered a history of neglect and extensive early life trauma but I finally see a way out.

I have relied on my dad for an extended period of time and he has recently started cutting me off to force me back into his life in the way he wants me to be. He put me into some very dangerous and traumatic situations and I would be concerned for my safety if I had to live with him again.

Both me, my mother, and my grandmother have experienced domestic violence of all kinds over our lives. When I try to vent about my trauma I am told everyone goes through this. It's normal. I've known the horrific family trauma history my entire life, I was always worrying about the safety of my main caregivers. I am being forced to rely on the abusive men within this family dynamic if I want to move forward with my life, and I want a chance to make my own choices.

Recently I have become more concerned for my safety after concerning comments from my grandmother, she has ties to religious communities that I have trauma associated with, this combined with my dad trying to pull me back into his life has left me scrambling for a solution.

I am not in active danger, but, I finally have opportunities to leave my current situation. I have been unable to maintain a job to make enough money to get out on my own. I have been living in a moldy basement for the last 6 years and within the last 6 months it has flooded and ruined my entire bed. I was sleeping on 4 blankets for a month, my family convinced me it was okay. I fell down the stairs 2 years ago and I was convinced to not see the doctor. I now likely have permanent spine damage. I have mild hearing loss, tinnitus, and balance issues due to untreated ear infections. This is within my adult life, I was taken to the doctor even less when I had to rely 100% on my mother or father. I have lasting kidney damage and leg damage from trauma and medical neglect. All of this on top of mental illness. I have been an adult for many years now, but I am more disabled than I appear and I have been listening to the other 'responsible' adults around me for too long. I lived off of 20 dollars a week in NJ, I was in poverty on and off through my life. I am no stranger to struggle if I didn't have active roadblocks.

My health is in bad shape because of my environment, but, if I leave I can't keep my health insurance. I can't have health insurance without a job and i cannot work like this, I've tried.

I am hoping by telling my story I can fundraise what I need to comfortably leave this situation as soon as possible. I have finally found the people that will help get me out of here, I just need as many donations as possible to lower my risk of homelessness within the next year of no contact with my abusive family.

I am looking for any advice or direct donations. I am also looking for anyone to spread the word, I am desperate to be myself for once. If you are interested in talking to me more about anything here, dm me. I don't care how we ended things or how long it's been. I want something better.

*PS. I AM VERY QUEER AND EVERYONE INVOLVED ARE HOMOPHOBIC OR TRANSPHOBIC IN SOME WAY

TLDR:

I AM QUEER AND DISABLED. HELP. CHRONIC PAIN. OW. WEIRD ABUSIVE FAMILY. NO RESOURCES. WEIRD TECH BRO CREEP DAD. HELP ME MOVE STATES. PLEASE. SO MUCH COMPLEX TRAUMA.

UPDATE 5/28: First, thank you so much to everyone who has donated! You've made the following possible in a very short amount of time and I'm eternally grateful for anyone who has shared this rentry, it's taking a lot out of me to be so honest about my struggles but to see people, even strangers, backing me means the world and truly gives me hope for my future. I unfortunately am still in need of help but I have updates!

I am currently in a hotel! I have finally settled in and I am safe now but I have a long road ahead of me. I have 110 dollars to my name after a tank of gas, hotel, and a bus ticket for my boyfriend because I am not in a mental state to drive the 24 hours needed alone. I have severe driving anxiety and realistically should not be driving but I have no money for other options.

With additional donations I am prioritizing the next week to get to Texas and begin applying for government assistance, but with the way the world is currently that process will be expensive, long, and slow. I have been sitting in a molded basement for 6 years, only regularly leaving the house for school between the years of 2022-2024. I am realizing I am far more physically damaged by my abuse than I previously believed. Finding work when you're disabled is difficult, more when you're in a new state you've never been to right out of a traumatic family dynamic. This is the first time I've ever been truly on my own, and I'm turning 23 in August.

I am looking into setting up a GoFundMe or some other fundraising platform, but I need time and mental space to consider it. Update again soon!

Again, forgive my grammar, and hopefully by the end of this I can be part of a real community.
