17 Reasons You Shouldn't Beware Of Robots That Vacuum And Mop

Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and mop offer the convenience of removing dry debris (dust dirt, grit) and wet messes (spills and staining) in one go without the need to change devices. They can also help save storage space compared to having two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot will have excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models that have docks that let them automatically empty their bins, refill their water tanks and wash the mopping pads.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It has plenty to offer for its relatively low cost, and it's one of the easiest robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking is easy and the quick-start manual will have you running in no time. You'll have a a full dust bag, water tank, and a hard floor.

The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that mops up a storm and vacuums well too. The mops spin at a high rate and employ 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to quickly take away pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum has four power modes, a range of brushes and attachments and a user-friendly application that lets you pick the exact kind of cleaning you'd like to have for each room.

For example, you can choose to have the robot do a deep clean in the living and kitchen but go easy on the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It can detect small obstacles that other models are unable to. Its only minor issue is that it can hit objects and walls at a high speed, but just a glance at the history of cleaning in the app will tell you exactly what it's doing and where it's headed and what obstacles it's avoided.

The docking station has a handy LCD screen that shows the time when maintenance is required like emptying the debris and cleaning the dirty water tank. It can also mix detergent into the tank automatically with a 600ml of eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long run time. The mop can run for 184 minutes in Quiet Mode. The vacuum can last 136 mins in normal mode, before needing recharging or returning to the base. vacuum bot is simple to use and intuitive, allowing you to look at every aspect of the cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the most recent version of Roborock's top-of-the-line robot mop and vacuum, is the most up-to-date version. Unlike last year's model, this one features an agitator that doubles in its mopping pad which significantly improves its carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has improved suction power, allowing it to pick up fine hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners may miss.

Like the other two Roborock models I've tested the S8 Pro Ultra has a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology that help it avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and includes a dual-camera that can identify objects, determining whether they are walls or other surfaces. It is able to change its direction automatically and clean them without missing a step.

It's the most expensive of the three models I've examined, but it's also feature-packed. Its sleek, angular design is striking and comes with three physical buttons. The power button, which resumes the cleaning mop button, which doubles as a child lock, and a home-button to take the robot to its dock. The hinged lid can be opened to reveal a 350ml trash bin and 200ml of water tank. The water tank will empty itself, and the bin is auto-filling.

The only downside I've found with this model is that the VibraRise mop pad mount isn't removable. While you can replace the mopping cloth (if necessary), it's a pain to remove the mount to wash it manually. I've noticed that any plush carpet that the robot passes will come into contact with the Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, which can cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a variety of clever features that include support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can configure and manage these using the Roborock app which is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app allows you to schedule cleanings, track the life of batteries and maintenance on components. You'll need to jump through a few steps to enable voice control on this model. This is a shame considering how efficient it is otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is an industry leader with innovative features, superior suction power and cutting-edge mowing abilities. Its innovative design lets users to tailor and effectively clean while saving time.

The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to feature 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is among the most powerful alternatives available. This powerful vacuum can clean up pet hair, crumbs and other dry debris. It comes with a mop of high quality that cleans hard floors without using a pad. The X40 is also extremely quiet in operation and only occasionally bursting during modes changes or self-maintenance.

Another noteworthy characteristic is the X40's extendable and liftable side brush, that allows it to reach difficult-to-access corners as well as clean furniture such as table and chairs' legs. It can also get under furniture with low profile which makes it an ideal option for smaller apartments or condos. The side brush tilts automatically down when it spots wet spots. This is a nice feature that enables the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors through excessive back-and forth movements.

In contrast to other robots that are restricted to a single task, the X40 can mop and vacuum simultaneously. It can also be programmed to avoid areas with carpets and mop only hard floors or reverse the process. It can be controlled via the Dreame app or with Alexa, Siri, and Google Home to ensure a smooth voice-controlled operation.

The app is intuitive and user-friendly and the X40's clever features are simple to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times. They can also adjust suction power, alter modes, view maps and floor plans, and control mopping settings. The X40 will also keep track of its progress, and alert you when it's finished.

The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with many convenient features, making it an ideal option for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the dustbin and wash the mop pads and refill them with cleaning solution and fresh water. It also can detect the moment when the mop pad is at its capacity to the max and alert you to the situation before it spills.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available on the market. It does have a number of features that make it stand out. The mops are equipped with a new feature called Smart DuoScrub. It utilizes two mops that are high-speed to clean floors more thoroughly than the conventional method, and it comes with the highest suction power of 7,000Pa. This is significantly higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni and can vacuum up pet hair and other small dirt particles in addition to removing spills and wet spots.

The mops are also cleaned and dried inside the base station after each use. This feature is great because it prevents mould and unpleasant odours from building up in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature we've yet to see on other robot vacuum and mop models and could be a great way of keeping your home hygienic for longer.

There are many choices, including the possibility to schedule cleanings and adjust preferences. They can be set through the app, or via buttons that can be found on the unit itself. The app is simple to use and provides a number of options for customizing your cleaning routine. It also has a number of functions that are not available on other robots, for instance the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects dust particles.

The L20 Ultra has a stylish design that has a white-and-metallic look that looks sophisticated and classy. It's a bit heavier than the other two-in-one robots on this list, at 4kg but it's not too heavy, and feels robust and well built. The mopping is also well-designed and the double-rotating mop works well on hard floors and in corners. They can even reach down to 2mm baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature, which is a nice feature.
