It is currently –5°C outside. Heating has not been a thing in a long time, so it happens to be just as cold inside. The nuclear winter has taken many things from us that we’d taken for granted. Hunger is now a part of life like an internet hiccup used to be. You do not enjoy it. Only the most hard-asses of hard-ass plants still bother growing, like potatoes. Forget about things that have actual taste to them, however.
You reminisce about the old times when you’d wake up at five in the morning to catch Kronii streaming. Trying to explain these concepts to children these days is an exercise in futility, unfortunately. Neither do they know what an “internet” is supposed to be, computers are things they only know from photos and the idea of watching someone over said internet is met with the same sense of confusion as trying to tell someone about what a pizza tastes like if they’ve never had any in their life.
For all you know, you might be the last Kronie. Who knows where the others are, if anything. You’re glad you’ve printed some pictures. It seemed silly at the time, not to mention socially inappropriate. But these five pictures you saved from 4chan give you hope every day that things will get better. You’re going to survive for her. Even though the winter may have taken her, the idea of Kronii will live in your heart forever and ever until the end of time. When things go back, you want to tell everyone about her and her great deeds.
As you daydream about such a future, you see a massive object in the sky falling. You don’t know what it is, but you do instinctively know that it’s pointless to try and flee. A plethora of thoughts rushes through your head. You’d thought often about what you’d do when the end of the world really, really came – as though to escape from the fact that the nuclear winter was the end already. The universe, however, evidently had a different idea. There is a saying that during the brief moment a coin is tossed in the air, you realize what it is that you truly wanted.

You make peace with the events that are about to unfold. As the last Kronie, it is your duty to see the world off.
“Kroyasumi,” you say to no one in particular, close your eyes and wait.
