/bag/ Majora's Mask Co-Op
Controller is recommended since it is more suited for it. You can try keyboard if you really want to but I do not recommend it.
Since there is no "online" for the decomp/recomp version yet, we will have to use a modified N64 emulator called "ModLoader64". So no various enhancements compared to Ship of Harkinian.
Unfortunately, there is no BA mod for this.
Pre-requisites
- You have to install these or the emulator won't work (it will auto-download upon clicking):
Setup
- Download the emulator: https://github.com/hylian-modding/ModLoader64-GUI/releases/download/v1.1.60-h3/modloader64-gui-1.1.60-ia32-win.zip
- Open "modloader64-gui.exe" and wait for it to finish updating
- Download the latest version of:
- MajorasMask.pak and move the file to Modloader64\ModLoader\cores\
- MajorasMaskOnline.pak and move the file to Modloader64\ModLoader\mods\
- Download the vanilla ROM:
- Majora's Mask (U).Z64 and move the file to Modloader64\ModLoader\roms\. Also rename the ROM to whatever you want.
In Modloader 64
- In the GAMES tab, enable the Majoras Mask ROM.
- In the MODS tab, enable MajorasMaskOnline
Mods
Use this site to get mods: https://modloader64.com/mods.html
You can create sub folders to organize the files inside the mods folder.
=Community Mods Tab=
I recommend to get the following from the website:
- Lobby Chat (Extremely Necessary)
- Cheat Menu (Up to you)
- Hover over the mod name in the website to download it
As for optional Button HUD Layout stuff, this depends on you:
- Gamecube
- Nintendo Switch
- Xbox/Playstation
- Hover over the mod name in the website to download it
Move the .PAK files to Modloader64\ModLoader\mods\ and enable it in Modloader.
=Cosmetic Mods Tab=
You can use individual character mods, even if other people don't have it. We will see what character you downloaded. It can be changed on-the-fly in-game too.
You can only use mods that have the Moon Icon or the emulator will throw out errors.
- Go to Adult, CHILD (hehe), or Combined tab and browse for who you want
- If an Adult Link mod has a Moon Icon, the height property gets changed and you will look taller than you should be.
- When you download one or multiple, move the .PAK file to Modloader64\ModLoader\mods\ and enable it in Modloader's Mods tab.
- While in-game, go to the MODS > MMO > Costume Changer > Custom > Human > Click on Character_You_Downloaded
- If you get any errors or crashes during the playthrough, disable the character mod and rejoin.
Audio/Voice mods are not supported for Majora, only Ocarina of Time
Joining a Lobby
- In the General Tab:
- Choose whatever name
- Lobby name will be bag64
- Password will be baggot
- Make sure "Offline Mode" is unchecked, or you can leave it checked to test controls.
- Press Start and it'll launch the game
- To change controls/inputs while In-game, go to UTILITY > Input Config
Hosts
- You do not need to provide anything to others. However, you will have to create a .BPS file of the randomized ROM. To do that:
- You need the actual randomizer program: https://github.com/ZoeyZolotova/mm-rando/releases/tag/v1.16.0.12
- Also need to install .NET Desktop Runtime 5.0.7 to run the program as it says on the link.
- You need the actual randomizer program: https://github.com/ZoeyZolotova/mm-rando/releases/tag/v1.16.0.12
- After you mess with the settings and create the randomized rom, open modloader.
- Go to Config > Make a BPS Patch > Create Patch
- Select the original ROM, then the randomized ROM you created with the program.
- Once it is done, move the .BPS file that was created to Modloader64\ModLoader\mods\ and enable it
Not hosting
- You need to enable vanilla Majora's Mask ROM in the GAMES tab and Majoras Mask Online in MODS tab if you haven't already.
- Only join AFTER the host started or it won't apply the randomizer.
- If you see "RANDOMIZER" on the title screen, then it worked. The Chat window should also pop-up as a separate window. You can post images from clipboard too which will be helpful.
