Notes -

  1. The Shakespeare plays in WDS are performed in normal, modern Japanese, not old Japanese. The scripts are also altered, with some dialogue being added, some cut, some moved around and some changed. I’m translating it as modern English.
  2. The word ‘kirei’ can mean both pretty and clean. With the context of this story I’ve translated it as either one of those or as ‘pure’ or 'fair' depending on the situation.

Lilja: 〜♪

Lilja: .............

Lilja: ......Heh heh.

Lilja: Huomenta, Ramo.

Ramona: Good morning Lilja. You're going for a walk now?

Ramona: You’re going for a walk, huh. I’ve been planning to practice with Abby and the others, so when you get back, you too should-

Ramona: ......No, never mind, just do whatever you feel like doing.

Lilja: Yeah. Moi moi.

Lilja: ......Nice weather.

Hikari: 30 laps around the perimeter! Goal!

Hikari: Ah, good morning, Lilja-san!

Lilja: Huomenta.

Hikari: You’re going for a walk, right? Have a nice trip! Don't get lost!

Lilja: I’ll be fine. Moi moi.

Tourist A: Hmm? Where is the Olympus Theatre? Are we lost?

Tourist B: Hey, hey, the map is upside down. What's the Saint-Claud Guide for?

Lilja: 〜♪

Child: Hey, Mama! Isn’t Luna cute!? Can I be an actor like Jiho?

Mother: You’re the best actor to me. I'll give you Mama's Saint-Claud certification!

Lilja: The wind feels good......

Businessman on Phone: ......Yes, we'd love to have the theatre group Tamba, which is also featured in the guide, to help us with our theatre tour--.

Lilja: ......Going where the wind blows me.

Lilja: .............

Xue: Sorry for the wait. I have brought your order.

Xue: Uh, medium soy all milk decaf...oh, it's too long!

Xue: Hey, you. If you want to order, use the app on your phone. No direct calls allowed!

Lilja: You said to leave the delivery to you.

Xue: I told you to go through the app, you mechanically challenged bastard.

Xue: I'm going back to my part-time job, but it's not on me. Pay me later!

Lilja: Moi moi.

Lilja: .....Besides phone calls, I can at least listen to music with my smartphone like this, with earphones......

Lilja: ......I can hear.

Lilja: 〜♪

Street Vision News: ......In anticipation of the launch of the Saint-Claud Guide, the authority on the great theatre age, the publishing house that edits it has issued an unusual statement.

Lilja: ......Today, I'm in the mood for Asakusa.

Chief Director: That’s a troubling statement, Saint-Claud Guide.

Gingaza Public Relations: It really is......

Koyomi: Oh, sensei?

Chief Director: ......Senju? I thought you were off today?

Koyomi: I came to pick up something I forgot at the rehearsal hall.

Koyomi: Are you instructors in a meeting?

Gingaza Public Relations: Yes, well. Kind of.

Koyomi: Could it be about the Saint-Claud Guide?

Chief Director: I'm going for a smoke. Have a nice day off, Senju.

Koyomi: Y-Yes. Excuse me......

Gingaza Public Relations: We can't afford to lose the Saint-Claud selection. ......The brass seem desperate this time around.

Chief Director: Even then, all the proposals that come out are to maintain the status quo. 'Keep the tradition and Saint-Claud will follow’.

Gingaza Public Relations: It sounds like you're not happy with the decisions of the brass.

Chief Director: We can't get over this predicament if we just keep up with tradition. Now we have to think about what we need to protect.

Lilja: .............

Passenger A: ......Did you see that news? It looks like there will be fewer theatre companies in the next Saint-Claud Guide.

Passenger B: But Olympus and Dazaifu are solid. They're top of the East-West list, you know?

Lilja: .............

Passenger A: I know, right? I was told that those two are sure to be published.

Passenger B: What other theatre companies were listed-?

In-Train Announcement: Next stop, Asakusa, Asakusa. The exit is-

Lilja: Ah.......

Lilja: (......I fell asleep. Dangerous.)

Sirius Fan A: I wonder if Sirius will be selected for the Saint-Claud Guide too!

Sirius Fan B: I'd hate it if Sirius got featured and became all stuffy. I don't want them to be too formal. Don't you have an image of them as being authority like? You know, Gingaza.
Koyomi: ......The world is talking about the Saint-Claud Guide. It's a good day to see a play, so it’s a nuisance......

Lilja: 〜♪

Koyomi: (Is that Lilja-san......?)

Lilja: ......This country is still full of magical beauty that Rovaniemi doesn't have. It's beautiful......

Lilja: ......Ramo will love this fan. This one for Koyomi. Xue and Hikari are matching colours.

Koyomi: (......It seems that you are enjoying yourself. If that's the case, I won’t call out to you......)

Radio News: The theatre company of interest is Gingaza with Senju Koyomi-san. The Saint-Claud Guide continues to be published.

Koyomi: ......I know that without being told.

Lilja: Koyomi, you look neat and beautiful today. Are you going out?

Koyomi: Hyah!? ......Y-Yes. I have some errands to run.

Koyomi: Where are you going......?

Lilja: I was in the mood to walk around Asakusa. Enjoy yourself, Koyomi. Moi moi.

Koyomi: You're going at your own pace as usual......

Koyomi: ......Today is neat and tidy, though I'm not sure about that.

Radio news: The Saint-Claud Guide is the authority on theatre. Every theatre company would love to be selected.

Koyomi: .......

Koyomi: ......I shouldn't. I am off today, I have to switch modes.

Lilja: Phew. I walked a lot.

Child: Look, look! The puddle is like a mirror! ......Ha-ha-ha, Dad, you look terrible!

Lilja: ......Mirror of water. It's beautiful.

Lilja: Mirror, mirror. What is the most beautiful thing in the world?

Lilja: ......Yes, I know. It's me.

Lilja: (Pure is pure. Dirty things aren’t necessary.)

Lilja: (The pure and beautiful me. That is Lilja Kurtbay.)
