Anemoia
Time is nothing but a blur
Just like catching fish with a lure
Going on, you and me
There is nothing else we could be.
The shimmering lake beneath us
Painted like watercolor hues
Blending together in a blur
'That's it', are you sure?
Freeze, there is something waiting
At the end of the river, do you hate it?
It's a gift, by no one other than them
Why is time so slow yet so hasty?
Tasty, isn't it?
It tastes just like your favored treat,
Soft and fuzzy,
Just like those memories.
When do you plan to leave?
For that place you never called a home?
We were never there,
So why do you say, 'let's go back'?
Memory fails,
Blurs and discolored hues in the brain,
Nostalgia for something you've not known
Why is this so painfully nostalgic?
Think, when have you lived?
You are so young yet old to remember;
The days you played with me,
You recall that time that one toy came out;
That was about fifty years before we were born.
You say you miss the mountains,
The sweet scent of the night flowers that bloomed up there,
The stars that shine and sparkle so bright,
In a place you feel nostalgic,
But never met.
Word for word,
Time for time;
Second, minutes, hours-
Days, weeks, months and years,
It is all too blurry
To recall a simple memory
In which we think we have known,
But it was a time we've never met.
