Anemoia: Times in living as an Anemoiac

Do you remember your childhood? Do you remember what toys there were, what was on the news, or the environment you were living in? Do you remember those times? Or do you recall something other than what was there but was not meant to be there at that time? When those times turn fuzzier each time you remember, you might realize each time you remember something specific from the past, either the main thing changes, or every detail you put in will change. You might even remember or recall a certain time period that you think you have existed, but were never alive at. Some might call it signs of reincarnation, others might think that it's signs of psychosis, though while it may be either or both, it can be sure it is a form of anemoia.
What is Anemoia? It means
“Nostalgia for a time you’ve never known.” (The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows) In other words, it’s a feeling associated with nostalgia. Although this nostalgia is a feeling towards a past era in which you were not there. As The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows continues, “Imagine stepping through the frame into a sepia-tinted haze, where you could sit on the side of the road and watch the locals passing by. Who lived and died before any of us arrived here, who sleep in some of the same houses we do, who look up at the same moon, who breathe the same air, feel the same blood in their veins—and live in a completely different world.” Seeing as this description describes a mood of anemoia, you can probably feel it at the moment.
Some may say that it may be a psychological thing, as it is for a fact. But it is nowhere near being considered a psychological issue or disorder. It is in fact just a state of feeling; an emotion considering the state of being nostalgic. Many might not realize this strange form of nostalgia in their everyday lives, some might as confuse it as normal nostalgia. Since the term Anemoia is still quite recent, it is quite understandable as to why it is often confused with the typical nostalgia and also just called nostalgia. If a person often has periods of anemoia, or in other words, “suffer periods of anemoia”, they would be considered an Anemoiac.
Although anemoia can be a strange state of feeling of nostalgia, it can also be looked at as a brief overlap of dimensions, universes, timelines and other things if you’re a sci-fi person or just any typical quantum physics scientist. Although looking back at the description from The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows, the description makes it seem as such an example of overlaps in the universal-time matrix. Though, in simple terms, it is just nostalgia for a period of time where things were simpler, and more comfortable to live in. Unlike the complex society we live in today, runned by technological advances and more new things discovered and added to our “common knowledge”, Anemoiacs tend to long for the past when things were simple and mostly manual. It’s like watching a very old movie in black and white and heavily feeling the nostalgia of re-watching that one film as if you were to watch it for the first time.
You might be feeling anemoia for something right now, or maybe you just think it's a nice word to think about. Either for any reason or no reason at all, it surely can be interesting to feel anemoia at times, even when you least expect it to.
