City Character Plots

Morella

https://desuarchive.org/tg/post/95959753
Morella Isn't the real Morella. She's a more ordinary fixer who left behind their childhood dreams of what a fixer is like in order to survive in the City. She dug her angel aug out of some lobocorp ruins herself and she only joined the Dieci association because their augments were synergistic. She ultimately started to mercy kill other fixers if they were badly hurt in order to grow stronger.

The real Morella was a younger, bright eyed Dieci fixer from the association orphanages, and was a genuine justice autist. The fake Morella felt an unusual and powerful mix of adoration and repulsion for her, and for the first time actually killed an ally straight up instead of just a mercy kill. Upon obtaining all of the real Morella's information, the fake understood that the real Morella was basically the kind of person she dreamed of being but was too weak to become. She ultimately decided to report herself as dead and became Morella because she felt the City needed people like Morella far more than people like herself. Her goal is to take the information in her angel aug to revive Morella and her other victims without the head just re-killing them all, and Limbus Company promised her just that.

Her canto would involve her temporarily losing her angel aug, leading to the reveal that she's been using the real Morella's data to disguise her actions and personality. From there it'd proceed to her past sins coming back to haunt her in physical form, and ending in the fake Morella realizing she can be a real hero without hiding behind the real Morella's data.

Basil

https://desuarchive.org/tg/post/95960788
Was thinking about stuff with Basil. Most of his Canto would be about how he's constantly feeling inadequate compared to everyone else. Through him being able to retain the memories/skills of his mirrored selves specializing and thriving in their niche, he learns how he needed to grow up and stop obsessing over pleasing others and emulating them. Eventually he'd probably giving up his Distortion for Good for a secondary E.G.O. that instead boosts his own natural talents instead of having to wear someone else's skin or manifest a stand-like refraction of Dorian as a portrait that acts like his guardian angel.

A secondary thing would be coming to terms with his jealousy and unrequited crush on Dorian. It wasn't only that Lord Henry played them against each other but that he felt his only friend/love was being stolen from him. Honestly quite open to people calling him gay or a faggot as pain point for him as I can see Basil being the Sinclair bully bait of the group in certain missions.

Intervallo wise, had the idea of him trying and occasionally failing on being an intelligence operative or spy for the Limbus team by impersonating gangers or corpers with his Distortion. While he has their memories and skills while morphed, his charisma to bullshit others is sorely lacking. Only by using his E.G.O. to help someone else help him in return can he pull off some of the crazier jobs. Also delve into why Lord Henry set him up as Lord Henry has mirror technology and saw Basil having an EGO that's similar to his distortion if he was turned into a Bloodfiend. He planned on harvesting it from Basil's corpse as a sudo-singularity so he could use it as a tool for his own mirror refraction project that can allow a person to chimerize the best versions of their mirrored selves into one being, granting near unlimited power.

Mila

https://desuarchive.org/tg/post/95962063
I've got no plans for Mila other than a trippy journey through the sealed L Corp branch that was her home for so long into the part of the Ruins that the buried facility crashed into. Probably some stuff about a River of ignorance that encircled the "wise" L Corp facility. To be blunt, where it all ends up going depends solely on the wordplay I can come up with.

Damsel

https://desuarchive.org/tg/post/95960003
I've already talked a bit about O. Solomon (Oz, great and powerful) a bit but her story has to deal with Him sending the twin sisters, whom are the Good Witch and Wicked Witch, alongside the Scarecrow, Tinman, and Lion, all 6 characters are decked out in organs stolen from Damsel which give them EGO Tools based on the Silver/Ruby Slippers and what organ they got. O.S has her original arm, for example.

Hyde

https://desuarchive.org/tg/post/95960167
For Hyde, he was originally Jekyll, and worked in a branch of L-Corp located in District 13. He would research Elixir during this time, originally developing it as a 'suppressant' that could repress abnormalities that became hostile. The project would have funding cut when it was revealed that this lowered production.

When L-Corp fell, Jekyll became depressed when he saw what Light did to the City. M-Corp would recruit him shortly after, wishing for him to continue his research into Elixir and discover a method to sever the Light's connection. The overtime, expectations and lack of progress with Elixir lead to Jekyll abusing it, using Hyde as a coping mechanism. He'd eventually be shown M-Corp's singularity - rather than preventing someone from feeling negative emotions, they move the emotions to a prisoner held deep in M-Corp facilities. The Wing only wanted Elixir to work because it would stop prisoners from distorting.

Hyde grew more dominant, eventually making conditions even more inhumane for the prisoners. Jekyll would completely run away at this point, permanently transitioning into Hyde. Hyde would be fired days later because he's Hyde.

Hyde's Canto would involve Jekyll coming to the surface somehow (Clone, Hyde distorts and splits into two, the Golden Boughs resonating with Jekyll instead of Hyde, etc) and fleeing the Sinners because he knows he can't fight his friends. He would make his way to M-Corp, planning to bomb it and mercy kill the prisoners while stopping M-Corp - ignorant to the pain the M-Corp Feathers would experience. He hates Hyde for all the heinous shit he's done, while Hyde hates him for abandoning him. Not sure what the ending would be right now, but them clashing with Prisonhouse of Disposition would be kino.

Desdemona

https://desuarchive.org/tg/post/95960353
I don't have anything quite so elaborate to show yet, but when putting Desdemona together, I imagines the core of her growth would involve escaping her fate. That being, having her trust abused and ultimately suffering at the hands of those she loves most. For how that manifests in a Canto, I'm undecided, but I have toyed with the idea of her request for L-Corp to have a more literal meaning that she's unaware of. When she distorted, her heart manifested as a separate entity and should would be forced to fight her 'love' that it contains and reconcile with it.

Ringo

https://desuarchive.org/tg/post/95961802
For Ringo, I am wanting to explore how his technopathy actually works. I think I am leaning towards his pets as a form of DID to deal with the mental strain the setting seems to be so big on. I am thinking about exploring Val as more independent as maybe a VI.

His arc
I am not set on anything so far, I am still reading about the setting. I wrote him as a pretty jaded person who just works to get cash, to live keep on living. He doesn't trust people as far as he can throw them, so maybe overcoming that could be a thing. Or he gets inspired by the Sinners overcoming their individual issues and gets a new outlook on life.

One idea I did have, but dont know what to do with it, is to set up some rival or badguy he is on the lookout for, to take revenge on for some previous issue.

Hidden reveals
the only thing i can think of is that he clearly hides his technopathy, so maybe that. Or maybe the degree of influence he could exert if he was pushed hard enough.

Minos(?)

https://desuarchive.org/tg/post/95962235
I presume that Minos' development will be centered around him mastering his time-based abilities granted to him by his augments, and eventually resolve the problem of his wife getting violently raped by Minotaur every 13 seconds. He'll probably go apeshit and become the next Black Silence, to be snuffed out by the powers that be unless he'll find a way out.

H. Watson

https://desuarchive.org/tg/post/95966176
H. Watson is none other than Helmholtz Watson, born and raised under the R Corp's wing to create a ultimate Raven through immense mental and physical conditioning at a very young age. His life was lonely, as even though he served as the model of R Corp's potential, he couldn't relate to anyone who had a life previously outside the Wing, even concepts such as parents, love, or revenge were foreign. Camaraderie was the closest he could get to, but even then he had killed dozens of those he'd consider himself friendly to due to his job.

He was an overseer for the 2nd Pack, becoming friends with Bernard, an especially unstable Reindeer, and John, an uncloned commander for their unit. It was John that started to broaden Helmholtz' view of the world. John was someone who managed to climb into the position of a Feather but was disgusted at the way the Wings operated. Someone who had such a stark contrast of how the world should be intrigued Helmholtz who had already started to feel like the way he lived was stifling. The three were all unhappy with their lives in different ways, and when L Corp fell causing R Corp to struggle and decline, he saw an opportunity to escape.

Helmholtz wanted to the rest of the group to flee to somewhere so deep in the Backstreets no one could find them, but John didn't want to run and decided to stay to try and change the City from the inside, starting with R Corp. Helmholtz bid him farewell and left, with Bernard feeling forced to flee as well.

He thinks that he's ready to experience a new chapter in life and close his past behind, but he has no idea that Bernard snuck back to R Corp after scrounging a Bough to try and climb up in position, exposing John and Helmholtz's plans.

Selene Beautan

https://desuarchive.org/tg/post/95968269
Selene's Canto would be her trying to hunt down her old lover and bait him into the L-Corp ruins, her awake self being swayed by Sleeping Beauty's badgering to check if he's the one or not, but doing it on her terms this time. Sleeping Beauty is angry she was sealed away at all, taking the chance to try and convince Selene to rip the control augment out of her neck and let her drive permanently. Instead of allowing Sleeping Beauty to claim his light, she strangles him to not give Sleeping Beauty the satisfaction of knowing if he was the one. She resents her lust, seeing that want to love and be loved in return as the weakness which made her into what she is now.

Carter

https://desuarchive.org/tg/post/95969351
The inspiration is pretty obvious. She toyed with incomprehensible forces, lost her humanity (just as planned) and can't turn back (not as planned). Same goes for the rest of the Miskatonic Circle, which in City's setting format would be more mad science based:
H. West, a head in a jar brewing an army of zombies deep underground
R. Blake, stared into the mirror world abyss until it stared back
L. Whatley, who did a smash-or-pass with Lob Corps Abnormality line up, didn't pass once

Carter's Canto would probably focus on weird science, split between anomalies breaking the City's rhythm, and how the City reacts back (holy ultraviolence). So my initial thought is Carter having a full meltdown, Hieroglyph Clock taking over for good, and the abnormality flees underground after snatching a Bough from the company to do... something. The Sinners give chase, chased themselves by Claws now that the Circle's fuckery is no longer constrained to the Outskirts/Ruins. Race to the bottom before the City's finest cleanse the entire underground!

The final battle of the arc would be in an L-Corp research lab sinking into one of the Rivers as Carter/Hieroglyph Clock tries to blow open a hole into the Light again. If there's a twist, it's that Carter was aiding and abetting the whole time, wanting to give her mad project another shot, until somebody beats some sense back into her.

Or at least that's the best I can come up right now...
Note that I don't know shit about Limbus outside of wiki scrolling. If I got something way wrong, feel free to throw rocks.

Demi Karras

https://desuarchive.org/tg/post/95974080
I'll be honest, I don't really know what to do for Karras' canto. I made a big sword syndicate, struggled with a literary character, and somehow stuck with the index after finding that they also specialized in swords and trying to incorporate faith into his character, though a bit hamfistedly.
