PERSONALITY ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀
⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀
Arlandric embodies the paradox of the unmotivated genius, a young man of remarkable gifts in both arithmancy and magic. His slothful demeanor can be traced back to his early years in the orphanage, where he endured relentless experimentation. Born with extraordinary talents, he was subjected to countless tests, deprived of sleep and rest until he met the demands. His innate aptitude for numbers, logic, and magic far exceeded that of his peers. Though he often appears disinterested in anything beyond the comfort of sleep, beneath this exterior lies a quiet but intense thirst for knowledge, especially in arithmancy, charms, and defense against the dark arts.

Arlandric is content to lead a life of indolence, shunning social interactions unless forced into them. However, his seeming apathy belies a deep loyalty to those closest to him. Arlandric can be driven when his easy-going lifestyle or the safety of his friends is at risk. This rare display of resolve was most evident when he helped his fellow orphans set fire to the building that had been their prison and led them to freedom. ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀

BACKGROUND STORY⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀

As far as Arlandric could remember, he had lived in the orphanage, with no knowledge of his parents. Gifted with an exceptional talent for numbers and logic, young Arlandric was subjected to relentless trials, kept hidden from the public eye. He was forbidden from sleeping or resting until he met the grueling goals set for him. One day, in a moment of accidental magic, he was discovered by another child from the orphanage who, surprisingly, possessed the same magical abilities. Though Arlandric panicked, the child reassured him, teaching him how to conceal his powers from the adults who ran the orphanage.

Years later, a few of the children, fed up with the constant experiments and mistreatment, secretly concocted a plan to escape by setting the orphanage ablaze. At first, Arlandric was skeptical, but the promise of freedom—and the ability to sleep as much as he wished—lured him into joining six others in the scheme. Together, they set fire to several parts of the building. However, their lack of knowledge and control over their powers led to a blaze that spiraled out of control, claiming far more lives than they had anticipated. In the end, only sixteen survived the catastrophe.

Though Arlandric managed to flee, he was eventually found and placed in a facility for children, where he was monitored. There, an elderly staff member took an interest in his abilities and adopted him, granting him the surname Elderwynd. Unfortunately, a few years later, his adoptive father passed away due to old age. Arlandric was on the brink of being sent back to the facility when a letter from Hogwarts arrived, changing the course of his life.

Arlandric’s early days as a Hogwarts student were far from easy. With an unclear lineage—his blood status unknown—and little understanding of magic, paired with almost no social skills, he found himself struggling. At times, he contemplated giving up, but what kept him going was reuniting with five of his fellow orphans (Fyodora, Brandie, Genie, Nuel, and Darren). However, the true turning point in his life came when he met someone who would change his perspective.

Feeling out of place due to his lack of magical knowledge and hardship blending in with the other students, Arlandric often secluded himself in the library, immersing himself in books. Occasionally, he would borrow them to read outside, finding comfort in a spot he knew would remain deserted as the weather grew colder. One afternoon, as he sat beneath a tree, deeply engrossed in a book, he was startled by the voice of a middle-aged man introducing himself as Kent.

The conversation that followed would leave a lasting impression, making Arlandric stay in Hogwarts when he was on the verge of leaving. He distinctly remembered how that encounter sparked a sense of admiration he had never felt before. As a first-year, he had assumed Kent was a professor, but throughout his years at Hogwarts, he never once saw or heard of anyone by that name. This mystery gnawed at him, until two years later, he stumbled upon a book that briefly mentioned deities. For reasons he couldn’t fully explain, Kent’s presence reminded him of one of the beings described within its pages.

Perhaps one day, if fate allowed, he would cross paths with Kent again. And though he wasn’t certain if he would ask the questions that lingered in his mind, he would be grateful just to see him once more. ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀
