Guy Fawkes

Appearance

Male - Mature - Inhuman/Terrifying
Fawkes' execution is well-documented as a man hung, drawn and quartered, but none live to remember this fact. Instead, the common folk conjures fantasies-become-realities of a man burned on the pyre every year on the 5th November. This ritual has charred his flesh in an eternal cycle, never to be healed - nothing remains of the features he had in life. Though he hides his deformities well behind careful fashion and the right shadow, there is no denying his supernatural nature when exposed.

Class

Avenger
The older stories of Fawkes depict the man as a traitor, rebel and lunatic willing to destroy everything for his deranged plot, but the purpose of the plot has not been entirely forgotten. Many have come to understand that Fawkes and his companions were motivated by vengeance against perceived injustices against the Catholic Church. Whether cursing him for his betrayal of his country or writing secret praise for his dedication to justice, Fawkes' soul is permanently bound within the cycle of vengeance.

Equipment

Streetwear - Cane
Fawkes is clad within the common gentlemanly garb of the era, all the better to fit in. A critical component of his legend was the shock of the common man turned upon his country, he sees little need in bringing unnecessary attention to himself and parades as one of these common men wherever possible.

Alignment

Chaotic Neutral
Self-motivated by his rebellion against authority, Fawkes possesses in equal parts empathy for his fellow prisoners of the Grail War and malice for those who would perpetuate it. Masterless and almost free, he has no desire to bow to anyone ever again and seeks to foster that same spirit in others.

Endurance D
Agility A
Magic B
Luck B

Master Upkeep

N/A
Accursed as a revenant and upheld by the collective of England, Fawkes has no Master and requires no summoning.

Noble Phantasm - The Gunpowder Plot

Rank D - Anti-Unit (Self) - Passive
Remember, remember, the 5th of November,
Gunpowder, treason and plot.
I see no reason
Why gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot.

Guy Fawkes, Guy Fawkes, 'twas his intent
To blow up the King and the Parliament
Three score barrels of powder below
Poor old England to overthrow
By God's providence he was catch'd
With a dark lantern and burning match
Holler boys, holler boys, let the bells ring
Holler boys, holler boys
God save the King!

A grand conspirator, Fawkes has a supernatural ability to read the precursors to treachery. Frustration, ambition and thoughts of rebellion sing to him and he has a keen instinct for how to incite conspiracy and betrayal within individuals, groups and cultures he observes - he always knows how to escalate unresolved conflict within people, but has no supernatural ability to sway feelings that don't exist.

Class Abilities

Avenger A
Fawkes has been fuelled by the hatred of mundane England for centuries and knows well how to siphon power from it. Opposed by Servants, Masters and other magical creatures, his power swells magnificently.

Oblivion Correction A
Centuries of obsession and plotting have left Fawkes with a perfect memory for injustices and an appetite for shockingly brutal vigilantism that strikes at the core of the wicked.

Self-Replenishment A
Without a Master, Fawkes has learned to draw whatever magical essence can be found. Since the beginning of the Grail War, he has even found a new source of passive power from the cursed object.

Independent Manifestation A-
Fawkes' manifestation and summoning is an anomaly to say the least. He lives and dies like a man - if a particularly powerful one - and is unbeholden to the Grail or its rules. Though he does not fully understand it, he believes his soul is called to the realm of the living every year on November 5th, where all of England returns him from the dead to execute him on the pyre once more. He has seen the past two centuries not through the eyes of a disembodied spirit, but a revenant incapable of entering his God's Heaven.

Such autonomy is not perfect, however, and he is reliant on a powerful collective belief in his story to manifest. He cannot leave England, nor the proximity of a great deal of believers in the yearly tradition without fading away as a Servant might without a Master. In the presence of such individuals, he is completely unfettered and has free access to his strange powers.

Presence Concealment B
What good is a conspirator who cannot avoid even the most paranoid gaze? Though no Assassin, Fawkes has the ability to disappear from sight and remain hidden from all but the most thorough investigation and pursuit.

Personal Skills

Charisma A
An insidious tongue or rousing sense of purpose - regardless of belief, Fawkes holds an almost supernal grasp of the arts of charm, deception and leadership.

Disengage D
Always an escape route, planned or intuitive. He has been caught once and has served a sentence of centuries since, never again.

Golden Rule C
Not truly personal wealth, but a keen understanding of where to gather money and other resources for his plots.

Imperial Privilege E
An intelligent, motivated man blessed with perfect memory and cursed with centuries of life, is it any doubt that Fawkes is learned in every mundane skill by now?

Information Erasure C
It would be poor form for a rogue to leave his plans and personage in the open. Though he holds no power to make others forget him entirely, he can shroud details from the minds of his pursuers.

Innocent Monster C
Righteous or not, the populace of England views Fawkes as far more of a devilish monster than he ever could have been in life, tainting his aura and appearance to be as a monster more than a man. He has tried to not let it get to him, but it would take effort to convince others.

Pyroclast (Galvanism Fire Alt.) A
Fawkes' soul has developed an intimate relationship with fire - as the most famous and most burned man in history, what else could one expect? Surprisingly, he has shown an aberrant ability to resist, absorb, control and produce flame that has grown dramatically since the Grail War began. If any of his powers were to allow him to face other Servants in battle, it would be this.

Subversive Activities A
Remember, remember, the 5th of November, Gunpowder, treason and plot. I see no reason why gunpowder treason should ever be forgot.

Wish - The Final Plot

Fawkes has lived centuries as many Servants have not, with full recollection of his memories and an understanding of his place in the world. This Grail War sickens him, and he believes it to somehow be the source of his existance. Nothing more than the eradication of the Grail and all its powers can satisfy his need for escape.

However, given his lack of connection to the object, it is possible that he does not possess any right to the Grail. As such, he must find another conspirator to take his place when all ends.
