For an Aster that has Long since Existed and will Never Not be Amaranthine.

By the time you wake, I'll be brave.

I used to be a meadow.
Now, only with withering stalks of grass scattered everywhere.
A single flower of aster stood,
I kept it for as long as I could.
While everything else was wilting,
it was left alone, still thriving.
To bloom, to live, and to feel.
Out of the hundreds of flowers I have had,
Only that aster was left.

Next to it was my heart.

I offer you an aster along with my heart.
May you be reminded of me
as your fingers graze this aster's petal.
For I am a devotee
of your feets' soles and your hair
of your hands and your fingertips
and of your heart and mind and your stare.

I could recite a list of the things I adore about you,
I would finish it in a night or never at all.
For all the adoration I hold for you is neverending,
For I could stumble and just cease to think of what I admire,
As you are everything that there is to adore in this world.

I may only be a single stalk of grass
or a voiceless cricket on a bustling night
or a lone lamp all across this barren meadow
but I shine, at least.
A tiny glimmer's still left.
I am one of the stars that make up the universe
and I will continue to burn until I cannot anymore.
I will always be that aster that I plucked to accompany you
until the world stops becoming what makes it what it is.

I am a meadow, an aster, a star and your lover.
The meadow is I,
So is an aster.

May you be reminded of me when you hold an aster.

From your aster, Alkaid.
