Cultivation Techniques

  • Immortal Scripture: Sword Heart Scripture (Qi Gathering) [Supreme Grade]

The sword is the gentle man of all weapons, it takes the longest to master but it also the most rewarding. Like Qi itself it combines sharpness and gentleness, hardness and softness. It is both clarity and illusion in one. For generations grandmasters have praised the sword and devoted themselves to passing on this weapons great potential. Unlike other weapons it is not ones arm, nor ones mind that grants a weapon is great power. It is instead ones heart. The sword can be furious and it can be calm, seething or admiring. There is no emotion or concept that cannot be reflected in the movement of a sword, its versatility is boundless. Like Heaven, the sword encompasses all beneath it.

  • Immortal Scripture: Profound Disruption Divine Light (Qi Gathering Supporting) [Supreme Grade]

The most powerful technique held within the All-Truth Pavilion, and the reason it was able to survive the All-Devouring Sovereign. This secret art allows one to reform their Qi if they meet its strict requirements. The qi needs to be immaculately pure, calm, and harmonious - where no single aspect or nature outweighs another. If this can be achieved one can form the profound Divine Light. This profound light innately disrupts and dissipates the 5 elements, separating even yin and yang. When it clashes against elemental Qi it disperses it effortlessly, when it contacts treasures it strips them of enchantment and turning them to junk. When this light focused upon a creature it disintegrates the being completely returning it to its essence, its only grace is that it does so painlessly. So profoundly serene and tranquil is this divine light, that in its presence even ferocious raging demons calm their hearts.

  • Sect Techniques: Swordbody Grand Unity (Body & Soul Dual Cultivation) [Grade 4]

The supreme sword and the supreme warrior are not separate. Just as the sword is guided by the heart, your heart follows the guidance of your sword. Harmonious and natural: when one's mind, body, and spirit are joined they become all-encompassing.

Offensive Techniques

  • Martial Art: Flawless Stroke (Attack) [Grade 4]

A true masters weapon moves with the grace of the artisan: focused, elegant, natural, and precise. Each movement made with intent and achieves bewildering sharpness. Only when you know your weapon perfectly, when it becomes an extension of your own body can this technique be considered complete. This is the foremost technique of the Brushstroke Blade Sword School and its masters are known as "Painters of Red". The flawless stroke is swift, precise, powerful, and above all sharp.

  • Martial Art: Brushstroke Blade ~ Flowing Ink (Barrage) [Grade 4]

Like a rampaging river and as many and as varied as raindrops in a storm. This sword barrage naturally finds its way around even the staunchest of guard just as water finds the valley, the masters blade threatens the foes vital spots. With even only a few managing to land, the opponent will feel as if they are drowning. The masters enemy caught in a whirlpool, surrounded on all sides and powerless to escape.

Movement Techniques

  • Immortal Scripture ~ Shadow Catching Swiftness (Footwork) [Supreme Grade]

The premier qingong technique held within the Pavilions Grand Library. It is the perfect embodiment of their philosophic teachings. The master acts without thought, achieves without exertion. The master has let go of the restraints of perception. The sign of the master is not effort, but to succeed without effort. To defeat without violence. To breeze past defenses not with power but with economy of action, to subdue without struggle. It is through the elimination of all but that which is necessary that swiftness can become transcendent. When this technique is cultivated to the limit one is said to be able to grasp their own shadow and will remain untouched by violence.

Auxiliary Techniques

  • Immortal Scripture ~ Steel Heart Clarity (Detection) [Supreme Grade]

This technique teaches its practitioner to not become trapped and deceived by illusions, assumptions, and desires. To open their minds eye and become enlightened to the truth of the world. To see opportunity where others see obstacles. For when ones mind, heart, and senses are open, one can read even the most well concealed intentions from the smallest of movements, seperate falsehood in a deluge of truth. They can evade by being where one's enemies intend to strike and can aim not at their opponent but where they will be. Perhaps the most esoteric ability of this technique is not its near precognitive perception but instead that through the class of blades, fists, and wills that a practitioner is able to gain tremendous insight into the true nature of others and their techniques. It is said that fighting is the ultimate expression of desire and ambition. Warriors reveal their true nature throught their actions. One can only gain true understanding of their own blade through conflict, and through understanding themselves they can understand others.

  • Sect Technique: Unstained Lotus Manual (Profession: Medicine) [Grade 4]

Like the lotus that is pure though it grows from mud, this is a clean method of practicing medicine. It teaches one to inject Qi into another's muscles, meridians, organs, and bones. When used for healing it allows one with pure energy to massively enhance natural healing, treating symptoms and illness swiftly, increasing life flow, and removing Qi blockages. When used as a combat art it is insidious, striking key muscles and nerve clusters to disable an enemy without bloodshed. Seizing or outright destroying an enemies meridians preventing them from accessing life energy and Qi. Despite the profundity of this art it is rarely practiced medically as any impurities within ones Qi will taint the patient and risks exacerbating their injury or illness, with the most severe cases leading to Qi poisoning or deviation.

He is able to roughly understand most techniques with little more than a glance and able to master the most difficult given enough time. He is seen by many of the Elders of the Sect as its future hope.

Techniques:

  • Scholarly Sect: Nine Paths of Truth (Qi Gathering) [Grade 10]
  • Immortal Scripture ~ Nine Paths of Truth (Qi Gathering Supporting) [Grade X]

A set of legendary scriptures penned by the great sage himself. Some say, it has the potential to be a peerless supreme technique. Its creator used it to create a vast reservoir of deep, dense, powerful, and thick Qi. As deep and boundless as the night sky. In theory this technique has a monstrous speed to its cultivation. Voraciously gathering natural energy into its practitioners daitan. In practice however it is painfully slow, well below what one would expect of even a mid-grade technique. This is because it devours not only natural qi from ones surroundings but also turbulent qi. This side effect leads to circulations being sluggish, and frequently forms qi blockages which forces its practitioners to conduct regular purges of their daitan lest they suffer qi deviation or damage their daitan. For this reason, rather than be held up as the pinnacle of cultivation techniques, it is relegated to a relic of the past.

  • Scholarly Sect: Kun Peng Body Skill (Traveling) [Grade 10]

An ancient variation on the more common lightweight body skill, the user modifies their weight without affecting their strength to allow them to run across water, leap to the top of trees, scale a mountain effortlessly, and leap ravines in a single bound. While not directly useful for combat purposes, when practiced to the limit it allows one unmatched speed, supposedly matching the mighty Kun Peng himself, being able to traverse traverse nineteen continents with a single step.

  • Scholarly Sect: Eight Meridians Manipulation Art (Profession: Medicine) [Grade 10]

A primarily a medical technique, this art as limited combat applications. Its purpose is to allow the practitioner to manipulate their own, and others meridians. Medically, this allows for the clearing of Qi blockages, increases life force flow, treating innumerable symptoms and illnesses, as well as massively enhancing natural healing. In combat, it can be used to cause internal damage to others, or even temporarily seal Qi centers, and paralyze enemies. Most vitally when mastered it allows one to shift their own meridians, preventing lethal blows and defending against similar internal attacks.

  • Martial Art: Brushstroke Blade ~ Poet's Pen (Attack) [Grade 4]

One of the most basic precepts of all swordsmanship is focusing ones sword intent, this is less a technique than it is a state of being. When the intent of each blow is focused, precise, and delivered with intent: the attacks gain unbridled speed, precision, power, and above all sharpness.

  • Martial Art: Brushstroke Blade ~ Flowing Ink (Barrage) [Grade 4]

A sword attack known for the swiftness and precision of its strikes. Its blows are swift as a hurricane but as soft as a breeze. Its myriad forms creating a violent storm of razor sharp steel. When cultivated to the limit, it is said to be able to slash a falling rain drop into 1000 even portions.

  • Brushstoke Blade ~ Gentleman's Guard (Barrier) [Grade 4] (+10) [170/190]

A sword form and technique that prioritizes defense, it meets hardness with softness. Using precision and speed to neutralize threats. Cutting arrows from the air, parrying blades, and at its utmost: creating an impenetrable barrier around its user.

  • Immortal Scripture ~ Shadow Catching Swiftness (Footwork) [Grade X]

The peak of qingong techniques studied by the Pavilion's Disciples, it is a near perfect embodiment of their philosophic teachings. Its three tenets are:
(1) Clear Heart, Open Mind: Quiet your feelings and empty yourself. Only then will true understanding flow into you.
(2) The force of lightness: Eliminate all motion save that which is required. Slow becomes swift, swift becomes transcendent.
(3) Spontaneous Effort: Do without thought. Achieve without exertion. Be as still as a lake, strike with the power of lightning.
It is said a master of this art can catch even their own shadow.

  • Immortal Scripture ~ Myriad Tribulations Insight (Detection) [Grade X]

A profound and secret soul art, it allows those who master it to pierce the veil. Their senses growing exponentially, and their divine sense foremost amongst them. Those who practice this technique can see through illusions and falsehoods, seeing straight to the heart of things. To a master of this art, evil doers inner corruption is worn on their sleeves, liars voices grate unnaturally, and murderers reek of blood. As an ancillary benefit it allows one to inject their divine sense into others: searching their bodies for impurities, injury, illness, and tumors while ascertaining understanding of their energy reserves and energy network.

  • Immortal Scripture ~ Profound Disruption Divine Light (Trump) [Grade X]

A disastrously powerful technique, requiring perfect control of ones qi as well as a nature in which no single element outweighs another. This is one of, if not the most powerful technique held within the All-Truth Pavilion. This divine light innately disrupts and dissipates the 5 elements. When it clashes against elemental Qi, it disperses it effortlessly, nullifying them completely. When used against treasures, it disenchants them rendering them useless junk, corroding their very foundation. When this light touches a living creature, it upends their natural rhythm disintegrating them. Extreme care must be taken with each use of this technique, for the Divine Light treats friend and foe alike, and if the users technique falters for even a moment, the delicate equilibrium that is required to form it will shatter, the divine light consuming itself and risking powerful uncontrolled backlash.

  • Illusionary Dream Training Method [Grade 4] (+10) [180/190]

A mental construct, often involving ones domain or soul sea. The user shapes this mental space into something indistinguishable from reality. In this area the practitioner can create phantom copies of fighters and techniques they have observed or read about, then practice with or against them. This builds unconscious links between their mind and body the same way that practicing organically does. Due to the sparring being conducted in a dream state, the battles accumulate no fatigue on the body, but does require them to circulate their Qi. As time can flow differently during dreams, this technique can allow an initiate to fight for hours a night, conducting a dozen spars, and a master of this technique might conduct hundreds. This training method is not without flaw however, the illusion will only ever be as accurate as the knowledge of the user, and will not account for the secret arts or hidden strength of ones enemies.
