Partners In Crime
The day has set,
The flickering neon lights brighten the empty streets
Papers fly through the air and through the city,
The faces posted on them that people fear.
Waltzing through the streets,
Flashing reds and blues to lighten up the mood,
Loud banging going off in the background,
Greens and whites falling from the sky like confetti in a celebration.
Dancing together, Laughing and running away
Just like we did the day we met,
Dancing into a building
Grabbing a diamond ring that you slipped onto my finger
Running out and slipping into a room with three others,
We play a game of Hide and Seek,
"Hush now," we whisper,
"You wouldn't want to give our hiding spot away now, would you?"
Let the sirens go off,
Let the screaming and panic go out,
Let the streets be decorated in reds and blues, greens and off-set yellow-whites,
Let the celebration last for nights to come.
The diamond ring on my finger,
Shimmering and glowing under the flashing lights,
Your hold around me, holding me as you carry me like your bride,
A soft kiss is how we love, a soft kiss as the celebration hits it's peak
Until the night sets and the sun rises,
Our wonderful night as we escape reality,
This celebration is something I'll never forget,
Till death do us part, we shall forever be
