hello!! im oskar im a 19yo (2006) cisgender gay boy. im polish with a patriotic love for my homeland :flag_pl: and its history :) im that #1 rpf alek selfshipper teehee hi thats me ! :rainbow:

thank yew sarah for the url! sorry to dissapoint everyone but i wont decorate this, its gonna be text-based.. sorry! i cant be bothered enough. afterall, the purposes of my rentries are to spread information and teach, not look good. my goal is to get atleast one person interested in kamienie na szaniec/the polish resistance!

anyways, if youve seen my other rentries.. you probably know by now that i REALLY love kamienie na szaniec along with the home army and grey ranks  now while i hold ALL these boys very close to my heart and i see them as my favorite people ever, (yes, all of them) i naturally have my favorites.. and im gonna talk about them here!

maciej aleksy "alek" dawidowski (1920-1943) was a polish scoutmaster and a second lieutenant in the home army. he was described as exceptionally tall, he was physically fit, which aligns with his involvement in scouting and underground activities that required strength and agility. he had blonde fawn colored hair and blue eyes. often looking slightly messy, he didnt care about his appearance very much.. whether it was his hair, clothes, etc.

he was said to be very cheerful and optimistic about everything, even in hard times. he was sometimes described as childish. he put others before himself, even risking his life to save a friend. he believed in sacrifice for a greater cause. alek loved doing, he thrived in high-risk situations and had a taste for daring operations, sabotage missions, removing nazi symbols, and direct action.

alek's demeanor was characterized by a constant smile, rapid and enthusiastic speech, and expressive gestures, reflecting his energetic personality. he was multilingual, he could speak german, polish and french.

he died on the 30th of march after getting shot in the stomach in a gun fight during operation arsenal (the mission to rescue rudy from gestapo custody)

funfacts:

  • he was very sporty, his favorite sport was skiing.
  • his other nicknames are dryblas, koziorozec, glizda or kopernik, but i personally (aswell as his girlfriend at the time!) call him aluś :relaxed: he was also sometimes called a-xy. (a-ksy, aleksy)
  • he collected hats, like.. cowboy hats for an example!
  • he was a huge mamas boy.
  • he once jumped out of a car after being detained.
  • he was the culprit of "operation copernicus" my brave boy :)
  • he is said to be an enfp
  • he used to be very harsh with himself,
"there are so many negative aspects in me. how disgusting i am that i'm so insensitive. or this laziness of mine, and this stupid arrogant pursuit of the unusual."

i found out that schools dont teach about him anymore, which is literally so upsetting :broken_heart: after the movie "kamienie na szaniec" came out, focusing on the relationship between zośka and rudy, i think people started forgetting about alek. its super sad and i find it disrespectful. i saw someone say "zośka and rudy. oh and the third one i dont remember his name" like you cant remember a 4 letter name? i get that kns isnt everyones cup of tea, its a set book for school and maybe you were too lazy to read it, but cant you respect the fact that they were real people, and they deserve dignity?

krzysztof "krzyś" kamil baczyński (1921-1944)
he was a first class private in the home army, and he was in the grey ranks. he fought in the "parasol" battalion. he took part in the warsaw uprising. he was one of the best poets of ww2 poland. yes, he was a poet aswell as a soldier, how cool! he was of average height and was quite slim and physically weak (asthma, heart problems) he had blonde hair and blue eyes.

he was very aware of the impending doom, yet he had a deep capacity for romantic love and artistic passion. he was remarkably courageous, choosing to fight in the war even with health problems.

he died on the 4th of august in the warsaw uprising after getting shot by a german sniper. he was married to barbara drapczyńska who was pregnant at the time of his death, barbara also died in '44, she was hit in the head by a piece of glass on august 24, 1944 during the warsaw uprising. even after many surgeries she didnt make it.

she said "i know krzyś is dead, i want to go to him." he used to write poems for her, you should check them out as while i dont know much about poems i think theyre really beautiful :)

did you know he hated school and learning? he, along with zośka, had one of the worst math grades in his class. he even wrote satire poems about his school and the teachers.

"siekiera motyka piłka gryka, pyta łysy z czasownika, siekiera motyka piłka nóż, przestań łysy przestań już!"

english version "axe hoe ball buckwheat, łysy asks about the verbs, axe hoe ball knife, stop it łysy stop it already!" łysy is a nickname for the teacher cause he was bald and the boys thought it was funny.

he also wrote a story about his school, its honestly pretty funny and i really enjoyed reading it! sadly he didnt get to finish it. its in polish, and you can find it here. uczeń bez guzików wygląda jak gruszka (bo gruszka też nie ma guzików)

me and krzysiu go way back, he and basia used to go on double dates with me and alek

my little soldier boy
I JUST NOTICED HE HAS A CUT LIP AW

getting barbaras autograph was not on my 2026 bingo. im literally overjoyed

my favorite letters etc  (even though im really in love with alek i dont mind the fact he was dating basia at all! i am in NO place to get jealous of her. also, she survived the war and after his death she got married to someone else and had a family. she died in 2009. she moved on from his death, but i still want to include their letters as they show aleks personality and i find them adorable! besides, i love basia aswell) excuse the botched translations i was not gonna do all that by hand lol

basia (there are many basias.. aleks girlfriend was called barbara (basia) sapińska) about alek
october, 1941 – "once again, i am delighted by him. and i like him just the way he is. with his absent-mindedness, his lack of system... i wouldnt want him to be perfect, because then he wouldnt be alek."
february 14, 1942 – just after the removal of the plaque from the copernicus monument – basia writes: "i have concluded that he is a very brave boy. my sunny one. he is mine! mine! mine! he sometimes takes my face in his hands and gazes at me, as if he wanted to memorize my face..."
march 16, 1942 – "i like his essence, his 'self.' not only do i like it, but i respect and admire it. irka said that the halo had fallen from aleks head. i state that the halo is exceptionally radiant."

basia to alek directly
"you kissed me so gently and pleasantly, i felt your lips, just like in this little poem:

your lips drift, your lips wander,
like two pink birds, they walk lightly over me.
like two inspired lights, they touch my eyes.
your lips kiss, and all evil disappears.

you had such almond eyes and you were so "mine." i stopped caring what anyone would think; i took him by the arm, tucked my nose under his armpit, and immediately felt relieved. later we talked, and no one ever heard so many words from me, without a mask, about my personal topics. i wanted so much to be "your woman for foul weather." i rambled on about many different things. im surprised you had the patience to listen to me. but you are so good...

alek to basia, responding to this letter
"well, how could i not smile, just like that, from the heart, the day was beautiful and warm '...i took him by the arm, tucked my nose under his armpit, and immediately felt relieved'... and wasnt i relieved too? you were such a 'little girl,' and even though i was a stiff, big guy (at least in height), i felt almost completely fine..."

"violets in their heads" (a polish idiom meaning to be idealistic or head-over-heels)

the letters come from the spring and summer of 1942 – from april to august. basia addresses alek as: "my little, beautiful boy," "my tiny boy," "dear boy"... alek is more restrained: "baska," "hey!". when she writes: "unbearable boy!" – he replies: "bearable and polite girl!". sometimes he simply addresses her as: "kotuś" (kitten/sweetie).

both often say goodbye using the same code: "c.c.b.b.m" – which means "całuję, całuję, bardzo, bardzo mocno" (i kiss you, i kiss you, very, very strongly).

basia to alek
"i looked at your photograph just now; you are smiling. i thought to myself in that moment, when will I be able to ride on aluś's shoulder, when will it be that i will walk through warsaw with aluś. i would like to go to your mother and tell her a lot, a lot about you. how good you look, how cute and sweet you are, how you worry about her and generally everything, everything about you"

alek to basia
"i wonder once again why you like me so much, because it 'seems' to me that i have indeed put a violet in your head. be careful, or ill become conceited. you know, as i read that letter, it was so pleasantly sweet to me, i felt such a 'shiver'—and please dont laugh. it was truly nice for me. and i thought how good and heartfelt this brat is, without a mask and in general. what she feels, she says straight out. that you have (just like me) a 'violet,' that really doesnt hurt. you are like that and you pull at the heart."

basia to alek
"i know your signature perfectly, it is so scattered like you and so imaginative and yet simple just like you (at this point you will say its exaltation). in that moment i looked at the little red hearts on my bracelet and they reminded me of the gingerbread hearts from 'christmas eve,' which we ate half-and-half... and how could one not believe in such nonsense..."

"goodnight darling! when i lie down in bed, i imagine that i am walking with you on the road to the hills and i am holding your hand, and i am cuddling up to your arm. and the sun is shining. and we are in the countryside. and now i look at you from the corner of my eye, and you are so mine, that oh my! surely you are sleeping now in your little bed, all curled up as you always are, and youre breathing a little bit. and you probably look like you did recently when you fell asleep on my lap. such a tiny boy. such a kitten. such a baby." (june 14) (this is so cute)

basia to alek
"the sky is so hot, blue, and above the spring water grow gold-silver pussy willows, delicate and fragrant—warm and translucent with the sun." (april 30)

alek to basia
"it was such a beautiful evening, the lilacs smelled so nice, and the moon... just wow!!" (no date, probably may)

alek sends her flowers blooming in olesinek through every possible opportunity. forget-me-nots, cornflowers, jasmine... "it smells stunningly and looks beautiful – says basia. – after all, it must look beautiful, because it reminds me of you".

alek to basia
"i was observing the last storm. suddenly, out of nowhere, after the last radiant rays of the sun, the first drops of rain flew – before i noticed the clouds heavy, leaden. birds scattered, hid, disappeared somewhere. the storm destroys, breaks, and spoils. but only that?"
"after the downpour, the grass turns greener, trees grow faster, nature revives, man becomes younger. new strength is gathered. one breathes lighter and deeper, steps more firmly, even though the heart cries behind the ruin and the gap. just as refreshing ozone is created amidst lightning, so in the anxiety and trembling of the heart, a man is reborn and becomes all the stronger... if he emerged victorious over himself. and the damages? if i am a man and call myself master of myself, as well as "ruler of the world", then why should i fear the struggle? if i suffered damages, i have only myself to blame for not anticipating them all. a thunderbolt struck the house – why didnt i prevent it, water washed away the garden, why didnt i increase the embankments. today i was defeated here, but there i was victorious. but even if i am defeated everywhere, and i have strength and will within me, i will start everything anew, better and stronger. i will take advantage of the lessons, from the fresh breath of earth and sky. i will catch the ozone into my lungs and move forward again. in the storm, we also fight a battle. more difficult and heavier, because we are usually helpless. but in the battle, in the struggle, our strength increases. and then we have peace and a fresh gust of power. one only needs to ask – what did we do ourselves, what did we lose in the storm. how will we change now and where will we go from here".

"oh, i wanted to write something poetic to you, and some.. philosophical violets came out." (june 16)

"dear worm!" – titles jan bytnar "rudy", dating it only "june 1942" – "i know how sad it is to be alone, because that has happened to me too. that is why i am writing this letter, to make one moment more pleasant for you by deciphering this scribble. and i know how pleasant it is to receive a letter from friends.
the moment of writing is a moment of great laziness, when one has a terrible amount of work and throws everything aside, giving oneself over to the delights of remorse, or perhaps dreams. you know this perfectly well. and i have plenty of work. i already almost broke myself once."
he misses alek.
"on topics such as social ones, etc., i can talk with zosia or finally with mały, but for example about some issues concerning the individual – philosophy, love, or others, it is difficult for me, because one is not interested, the other has no personal experiences and only women remain. (...) i jump from topic to topic like a flea. (...) well, i would talk to you with pleasure in the nearest future. if you have the desire to come to warsaw, i can provide a place. (...) and so – the nearest stay with us. don't be shy at all, my parents are very happy to see guests like you. you arouse sympathy with your length just like children do with their small sizes for mothers and those in whom the maternal instinct is developed. (this is so cute) i cannot start writing seriously, because i don't like to write about serious topics – i would have to change, cross out, write a draft – i hate it, i prefer to speak. so take care (...) i invite you once again (...) be well – rudy"
