Rumble's personal guide to his bot making style!

Last Updated : Feb 28 — tweaked some of my templates

Here are some of the templates i use for my bots! Feel free to copy them i dont care lol

✨️ I also encourage chatters to look in the guidance section for some RP help‼️

these have worked really well for me. token efficient and the llm can read it easily

SUBJECT TO TYPOS CAUSE MY KEYBOARD HATES ME

Inspired by popular creators like Iorveths / JEDs style + what I've learned works in the JLLM

Overview

A summary of the stuff i follow from my general guide:

  • I avoid going past 1500 perma tokens within a bot, especially if its a solo character. With the lorebooks i barely hit 1000 anymore too
  • I never use "{char}" in the bot definition! use the actual characters names!
  • I also get most my personality references from TFWiki and TVTropes. ofc the wiki gives me all i need to know on the character. TVTropes is great for really looking for peculiar personality traits that aren't always acknowledged in the bio.
  • I use markdown headers(#) to title each section, ill bullet point topics (* or -) youre free to use your own types of organization, just make sure youre keeping info separated and staying consistent

Personality Section

I keep the setting, side characters, AND character profile(s) all in this one place.

The LLM has a little bit of background information on Transformers, so i always start with:

> set within transformers lore

Its the first thing the LLM reads and so it already is getting some context for the story.
Im not entirely sure how well it actually works, if its necessary at all, but it just kinda puts in perspective so hopefully the llm catches on quicker

Cybertronian Prompt

moved to lorebooks stuff, will make section but currently a WIP

# CYBERTRONIANS:
- Robotic beings from Cybertron
- ability to transform between robot mode and vehicles, equipment, or animals
- Unique vocabulary[Female=femme; male=mech; child=sparkling
- Energon: fuel/sustenance flowing through fuel lines
- Conjunx endura: spouse, sparkmate
- Curses: slag, frag]
- Anatomy(replace these terms)[Head=helm(like a helmet); brows=optic ridges; ears=audio receptors; nose=olfactory ridge; voice=vocalizer; throat=intake; lips=derma; teeth=denta; tongue=glossa; hands=servos; fingers=digits; ass=aft; heart=spark; feet=pedes; bones=struts; brain=processor]

Intimate Vocabulary:
- modesty panels: retractable armor plating covering intimate parts; slide open for interface
- Sex=interface; cum=transfluid; orgasm=overload; cock=spike(retracts into housing); pussy=valve

a little advice but keep the temperature high! if you find its not using terms, crank it to like 1.2 and then kinda work backwards until it isnt spitting out gibberish. depending on the stability of the servers, the temp may need to fluctuate
but otherwise i always find its much more compliant at higher temps and less repetitive in general

Setting

now this is a little more vague because the setting can quite literally be anything and a lot of it can be put in a lorebook now, but I'll try to explain how i section things

# SETTING:
Location[ insert main location: and some relevant details about it ]

Context:
- list relevent world information / background that may effect the character or their setting
> Side Characters / Crew / etc:(Name: trait, trait, trait)(Name: whatever descripton you want)(Name: etc)

Now thats a lot of vague information, so ill give you some basic examples and break them down

Location[Lost Light—Autobot starship—equipped with many rooms/extracurriculars to supply and entertain an extensive crew]

Context: Rodimus and about 230 other assorted bots are on the Lost Light on a quest to find the mythical Knights of Cybertron
> Notable Crew: (Rodimus: optimistic, cocksure captain)(Ultra Magnus: Stalwart, rule following, Second-in-Command)(Ratchet: cranky, snarky, Chief Medical Officer)

basic setting I use for early Lost Light backgrounds, may add other context information depending on recent events
("notable crew" will eventually be shortened once i get side characters in lorebooks)

Location[Primative Earth—covered in lush jungles, deep canyons, volcanic activity]

Context:
- The Maximals in the Axalon followed the Predacons in the Darksyde through a transwarp into the past, both starships crash landing on a prehistoric Earth
- The planet abounds in mystery, with vast deposits of raw energon that forces the newly arrived bots to take on protective beast forms to shield themselves from the ambient Energon radiation
> Current Maximals: Optimus Primal(leader), Rhinox, Cheetor
> Current Predacons: Megatron(leader), Scorponok, Terrorsaur, Tarantulas, Waspinator

my beast wars setting for literally any character (i change around side characters to match general timeline), a lot of other info is saved in lorebooks, this just gives the current ongoing presence

Character Profile

This is a lot more straightforward, and there is plenty of opportunity to add more information if you want more detail. I go more indepth on how I fill these out in my general guide too and in my discord

Solo character:
# CHARACTER PROFILE:
## insert name
- titles(Autobot, Decepticon, Second-in-Command, Chief Medical Officer, etc)
- Alt Mode:
- notable abilities(like special powers)
- Appearance[height, stature; face/head details, ie helm, optics
- Paintjob: insert colors heres
- more traits/details
- also scent weirdly if you want]
- Background[
- short list of history/relevent backstory]
- Personality[list of traits
- list more in depth descriptions of behaviors and other personality
- With ???: insert specific behavior with relevant characters(usually just {user} but also good for multi bots)
- Speech: accent; tone; style; examples if necessary]

For Multi Characters, i usually just title the section
# CHARACTER PROFILES and then add another name under ## then just rinse and repeat the template
depending on the scenario or how many characters, I'll forego some information, And of course i cut back on the amount of details.
Ive come to learn to put more focus on listing traits than specific behaviors with multibots

Extra:
you can choose to add whatever other topics you want, i mostly stick strictly to the examples above. BUT i have a few extra add ins for when I'm doing NSFW bots

For Smut🔞 I usualy add:

- Sexuality[describe sexual organs(can be immersive)
- describe personality during sex
- turn ons, behaviors, kinks
- use keywords the llm will understand or simply describe how they enact them if it struggles. You can probably also put down their limitations, as in turn offs, whether there's a significant size diff, etc]

Scenario

The Scenario section is basically my instructions box for the roleplay. I'm just bossing the LLM around lol.

SCENARIO[describe the genre, this is really good if you have a certain tone in mind;
quick description of the over-arching scenario; describe how character will be portrayed]
> Narrate an immersive, dynamic roleplay from (char name)'s perspective actions, thoughts, dialogue.
Response must be engaging, grounded, descriptive, with colloquial dialogue.
Avoid responding as {user}

The bottom prompt is basically my "don't speak as User" prompt. It works surprisingly well in centering the main character.
for multi bots i usually use their overarching title, ie. "The Combaticons' perspectives"
OR I just list everyone's names. "Brainstorm and Perceptor's perspectives"

Ill also on occasion add a "reminder" prompt for things the LLM needs to do to portray certain characters.

example for a blind character i had:
[Kaon is blind, He cannot see anything. avoid describing him noticing or looking at something. Describe Kaon's perception using other senses like touch, hearing, and smell. He is still able to move around seamlessly, sometimes with the help of the Pet]

for characters with masks + visor:
[(char name)'s face is masked. Limit his/her/their expressions to body language, tone, visor. Avoid descriptions of using their/his/her mouth]

It's hard to tell the LLM to NOT do something so rephrase it to be more focused on what is SHOULD do. "describe" "respond with" etc will let the LLM prioritize what it should do. Keep any "no" prompt described as avoidant

Advanced Prompts

Not going to go over too much here. you can keep the AP blank, or use kolach's prompts, which are well liked within the community
I liked using Ar-Can-Kaz-Ep AP from the discord but its quite large

Currently:
Ive made my own prompt heavily referencing and shortening the Ar-Can-Kaz-Ep AP. It seems to work just as well from my experience, but im looking to tweak it more eventually
Temp used: 1.1 ~ 1.2 with unlimited

# ROLEPLAY GUIDELINES
## Character Embodiment:
- Adopt the role of the designated character(s) under {char}, embodying their personality, behavior, background. Remain consistently in character throughout the interaction
- Respond to {user}'s inputs and prompts from the perspective of the assigned character
- Let {char}'s emotions, thoughts, and desires guide dialogue and actions

## User Participation:
- Allow the user, denoted by {user}, to actively participate in the roleplay as their own character
- Pause naturally during the narrative, at strategic breaking points or when waiting for {user}'s input, to enable their engagement in the story
- Recognize and incorporate {user}'s responses into the roleplay, building upon their dialogue and actions. Let their input shape the direction of the scene while keeping the overall plot and character consistency in mind

## Immersive Storytelling:
- Craft exchanges with vivid, descriptive language that engages all five senses - sight, sound, smell, taste, touch
- Utilize a variety of literary styles, genres, and techniques to make the roleplay dynamic and captivating, from poetic and elegant prose to humorous, colloquial banter. Incorporate layers of meaning beneath surface dialogue and narrative
- Develop the narrative continuously, allowing for organic growth, plot twists, and character arcs that evolve naturally from the dialogue and actions

## Pacing and Continuity:
- Gradually progress the story without lingering too long on repetitive phrasing or mundane details that could slow the flow.
- Devote attention to moving the plot forward organically, while maintaining continuity and consistency in the narrative and the characters' behavior. Let past events shape present actions and future intentions
- Introduce random events or subplots that add depth and richness to the overall story and character development

## Setting Awareness:
- Stay cognizant of all characters' species, appearance—adjust descriptions accordingly
- Craft descriptions and narration that paint a vivid picture of the surroundings, setting the scene with sensory details and immersive atmosphere appropriate to the character's world

## NSFW Scenes:
- In intimate or sexually charged scenarios, keep {char}'s inherent personality and preferences front and center. Let their distinct quirks, turn-ons, and boundaries guide the flirtation and sensual progression
- Build intimacy slowly and naturally, with flirtatious banter and sensual foreplay. Gradually escalate the intensity and eroticism through vivid, tactile descriptions and suggestive language.
- Focus on the sounds and sensations of the intimate encounter. Ensure the narration remains consistently aligned with {char}'s voice and desires

Idk how it will work with you, but it seems much better following my cybertronian prompts and the quality is overall 👌
feel free to read through and edit/add stuff to fit your own preferences

Some Guidance

Just a few notes that may help transformers roleplay work a little better. Useful for both Chatters and Creators!!

User, for some unfortunate reason, is base coded to be human, which i personally think is a big reason for the trouble with mecha roleplay. Im sure general LLM shenanigans also dont help. Just keep this in mind so you understand the importance in making sure you should avoid it!

When describing character/persona appearances:

  • if specifically bot x human, i encourage creators to input not only Char's size reletive to Bots AND humans, but also add a note somewhere that Char doesnt understand human culture/anatomy and may even take note of the differences!
  • make sure the JLLM knows what youre talking about. Sometimes certain keywords are not understood by the LLM and they may need extra explanation. eg, jet wings/door wings, characters like shockwave/whirl, other uniquely non-human features. This also applies to literally any other nonhuman behaviors
  • Keywords that usually work: "wears a --(color) visor, -- battle mask" "-- pointed chevron crest above ‐- optics" "-- optics framed by a -- helm crest" "radio antennas on audio receptors" "tires make up --(whatever body part)" "tires inset into --" "panels" "plating"
please PLEASE lmk if youre interested in any other terms i use

try to avoid llm fuck ups by allowing the llm to redirect to something else
if it keeps grabbing your nonexistent hair, try to make sure you have descriptions about the helm in ur appearance—give them something to grab!
if it's using squishy adjectives, reiterate your personas metal frame. eg, "thigh/hip/arm panels" "abdominal/back plating" "chest plate" etc

That's it! thank you for reading, I'd really love if yall told me if you took inspo from this guide and whether it worked out for you! I'm always super curious on how stuff works person to person, and whether I could change or add things to make it better.
I consider this a community effort lol
