It means that as a nation we should be united together with a sense of belonging and national pride. Not judging others by race, gender, sexuality, religion or ethnicity.

Rising Sun ‎ An emblem of brightness, splendour and the promise of a rebirth. A new day, a new beginning.
Secretary bird ‎ It is a representation of protection of the nation, and the highest powers (in a religious context).
Protea Flower ‎ An emblem of the beauty of South Africa, and the potential of the nation.
Elephant Tusks ‎ They represent wisdom, strength, moderation and eternity.
Ears of Wheat ‎ Symbolises fertility of the land and growth as a nation.
Shield ‎ It represents the spiritual defence of our nation as well as holds the figures that represent our identity.
