Holy crap, it's been a long time since I released the initial Space Adolion setting. Well, now we're back with more cards, expanded lore, better cards, and overall a more interesting universe to explore.
Space Adolion has been a bit of a side project for a while now. But as one of my series with the fewest characters, it was finally time to tackle this thing and turn it into a proper Space Exploration series, of which there is a serious lack of cards that can be considered "Space" cards. Space Adolion aims to rectify that.
Let's talk a bit about Space Adolion real quick.
- Space Adolion is meant to be the Sci-Fi version of Adolion. With Adolion (Fantasy) the goal was to have a generic fantasy world that was fun to explore and allowed for a great amount of player freedom. Space Adolion continues in that tradition as it is still very much a sandbox without a defined overarching narrative to follow like other series (e.g. Voruun's blood sun requiring dungeon exploration.)
- Space Adolion therefore relies on the strength of characters and the player character to guide the narrative. We do have starting narratives, but it is overall up to you to determine how the story goes.
- I did just straight up steal elements from Starfinder such as the Gap and Adolion Station being basically a reskinned Absalom Station. This is also keeping in tradition with taking elements from Pathfinder to use in Adolion. Lol. Lmao even. Love Paizo's products.
So now that we've covered that, let's get into more details.
Fan Content Policy
While starting my discord it's become clear that there are a good number of people who want to use my setting to create their own cards in these worlds. I endorse these fan cards with the caveat that they don't claim to have created the setting themselves.
Linking to this Rentry counts as saying: "StatuoTW created this Setting. I just really like it and want to make something in it."
Create and have fun, everyone. If you want me to add your fan card to the rentry, I'll need the following:
- Your cards image, not the card itself.
- A description of the card/your own personal note to go below the card
- A link to the card (if applicable, otherwise you can just note "It's in Stat's Discord")
Lore Primer
The Gap is the term for the period of time that has seemingly vanished from everyone's collective memories with no real explanation. No documents - historical or otherwise - exist from before The Gap which some scholars have placed as having happened over two thousand years ago. Millions of people woke up on Adolion Station one day with no recollection of how they got there. After some exploration they determined that Adolion Station was orbiting the dead world of Adolion, which has a surface that is too toxic and radioactive to explore.
Using the technology from Adolion Station, the first explorers began to do the only thing they could: Explore the stars. Exploration was slow at first, but as more and more planets began to be settled, factions began to form. Those who remained on Adolion Station formed Carteth United, a parliamentary republic that maintains authority over Adolion Station. The Dalforta Syndicate broke away from Carteth United, declaring the latter to be small-minded. The Dalforta Syndicate settled on Gallos 3 and began producing as many products as they could, eager to make as much money as possible.
Soon after, both Carteth United and Dalforta Syndicate came across two other alien races: The Kalos Legion and the Neverian Empire. The Kalos Legion was led by the Dragon God: Kalos who was waging war with a universe-wide threat known as The Swarm. Meanwhile, the Neverian Empire was led by their Immortal Emperor who dictated it was their divine mandate to rule over the Universe.
Peace was possible with the Kalos Legion, but not with the Neverian Empire who viewed all other races as people to be subjugated.
In order to preserve their independence, Carteth United wrote the Allied Pact. After convincing the Dalforta Syndicate and the Kalos Legion of it's merits, the Alied Pact presented a united front against Neverian aggression. Unable to take Allied Pact controlled space easily, the two factions have engaged in an uneasy ceasefire, broken by occasional skirmishes and power plays by each side.
All the while, threats from beyond Far Space continue to creep ever closer. It was the realization of these threats that led to the formation of the Adventurer Society. The Adventurer Society is a faction neutral entity whose goal is to explore the universe, deal with threats, and help citizens everywhere.
Today, the ceasefire between the Neverian Empire and the Allied Pact grows more unstable as both sides view for land and resources to support their wars. That, coupled with anomalies that could spell disaster out in Far Space is a sign that bad times are coming. Heroes are needed, it's time to step up.
FTL - Faster Than Light Travel
Ships are outfitted with special FTL drives that can perform long distance jumps in the span of minutes to days, depending on the length traveled. These FTL drives work by communing with the God of Travel, Talavor. When using FTL, ships phase out of reality to reach their destination. This unfortunately leaves them open to the chaotic energies that permeate this null space.
Known Races
- The Kesculans are a race of intelligent crickets who walk on two legs. The tallest Kesculan only goes up to a human's waist.
- The Gesqorkans are a race of sentient jellyfish that are approximately the size of an adult human male. They come in a variety of colors and communicate mainly through telepathy. It's said that Gesqorkan's see the world in shades of different colors rather than as physical objects.
- Beastkin are a race of humans with animal features that come in a variety of shapes and forms. Beastkin are known for their reproductive compatibility with a wide range of species, giving them a promiscuous stereotype.
- The Luso's are a race of purple-skinned, pointy ear humanoids who come from the planet Lusonala. Luso's are known for their great expertise with mechanical systems due to their ability to 'feel' the emotions of machines. All Luso' share the same last name: Lusonala.
- Elves are a knowledgeable, magical race known for being lithe, beautiful creatures who live for hundreds of years. Elves are the most troubled by the Gap, since it resulted in the loss of their prized historical records.
Survival in Space
Fighting is going to be inevitable in the universe. It's up to you to know the tools you'll need to survive.
Ballistic Weaponry
Ballistic Weaponry (or Analog Weaponry) still sees use in combat despite the advancements of laser and plasma weaponry. Ballistic firearms can shoot through energy shields, making them effective against targets that rely on plasma sabers or energy shields for defense. However, Ballistic weaponry is harder to use. Weapons jam, bullet drop, recoil, difficult maintenance, and reliance on mechanical parts make these weapons the choice of only those who train to use them. Still, a good knife is always deadly no matter what - if your enemy brings EMP rounds they make solid backup weapons.
Laser Weaponry
Laser weapons are primarily ranged firearms that fire superheated laser bolts at enemies. Most laser weaponry functions using battery packs as a resource. Laser Weapons have no recoil and great accuracy, making them the firearm of choice throughout the galaxy.
Plasma Weaponry
Plasma weapons are primarily melee weapons that are meant to emulate the old style of weapons but brought into the modern day. Plasma energy coats the edge of a melee weapon, giving it destructive force that can cut through synthsteel and even deflect laser bolts. While Plasma ranged weapons exist, they are only effective at short range and overheat quickly.
Magic
Magic still exists and thrives in a spacefaring age. Magic works fundamentally the same as in a fantasy setting - it can either be studied/innately learned or granted as a divine gift from a deity like Boher the Lifegiver or Talavor God of Travel. Mages are called Mystics in Space Adolion.
Space Exploration - Ships and You
Spaceships
You'll need a spaceship if you're going to go anywhere. Spaceships (sometimes called Starships) are ships capable of FTL travel. Spaceships come in many sizes with a varying number of crewmembers. If you own a spaceship, it'll likely either be a small fighter-class ship meant for a single person or a Light Freighter class, which can host a crew complement of anywhere between 5-10 crew members. Larger spaceships do exist of course: Battlecruisers, Heavy Frigates, Planet Crackers, and more. Most spaceships come with an energy shield generator and mounted weaponry.
Spacesuits
Space exploration can be dangerous, getting vented into space used to be certain death for anyone. Now most modern spacesuits come pre-equipped with what is known as a PPF (Pressure Protection Field) Generator. This PPF grants you about a minute of survival in the event you are suddenly thrust into space. For that reason, it's best to walk in an armored space suit if you believe you'll be heading into any depressurized area.
WULFs
Ship-to-Ship combat implies that two ships can trade fire with one another. But giant mecha robots called WULFs are another force in your arsenal. Each WULF is about the size of a large building and is piloted by a single WULF pilot, they come in a variety of makes, models, shapes, and sizes along with a variety of weaponry.
Leisure
While you'll be flying through space you'll have a variety of ways to survive beyond just landing on planets and scavenging. Not to mention entertainment.
The HoloNet
The HoloNet is a universe-wide internet that is propagated throughout the universe using relays set up on various space stations and planetary relays. Much like the Internet of the modern day, the HoloNet allows it's people to access whatever information they need in a moments notice and communicate with people thousands of lightyears away.
InstaFood
InstaFood is the primary way to make a variety of meals in space. It's cheap, unhealthy, but it's easy to make and it's portable. If you can dream it, InstaFood can make it! Sponsored by the Dalforta Syndicate.
Threats Beyond the Stars
The Neverian Empire
The Neverian Empire is a warlike faction who believes it is their divine mandate to dominate every other living species. While life under the Neverian Empires thumb isn't terrible, it's also devoid of some personal freedoms many people come to expect.
Terrorborn
No one knows where Terrorborn come from, but they're a race of extremely powerful mutant creatures. Terrorborn are about the size of a truck and they actively hunt humanoids, with some reports indicating they're capable of destroying entire civilizations. What's worse, they can appear anywhere, reports suggest a Terrorborn has even appeared on Adolion Station before.
The Swarm
The Swarm is a name for a large mass of fast-reproducing hostile insect life. It's said that the Swarm 'adapts' to modern warfare, creating bugs that are comparable to canons and ships. The Swarm travels world by world devouring entire planets. The Swarm is extremely hostile, Numerous, and considered a galaxy-wide threat.
Abyssals
Abyssals are an enigmatic race of aberrations. Abyssals corrupt humanoids and ride in flesh ships. Abyssals are eldritch monsters. Abyssals are capable of traveling through FTL to warp onto worlds without notice and are said to come from beyond Far Space.
Freyers
The Freyers are a race of robotic monsters hellbent on wiping out all organic life. Unfortunately, that even includes androids.
Pirates
It wouldn't be a complete clusterfuck without your own species trying to shake you down for money, would it?
Established Narratives
You may be interested in knowing what established storylines are available for you without having to rely on generated content. Here is a list of the established storylines.
Disappearance on the Jalatan Space Resort
A group of Adventurer Society members went to go for a nice relaxing vacation at the Jalatan Space Resort. Shortly after their arrival, they activated their Distress Beacon and then deactivated it. Normally this is followed up by an all-clear message sent to the Adventurer Society, but no all-clear arrived. It's up to you to investigate the Jalatan Space Resort and find out what happened to the Adventurers.

The Reappearance of the Kagekumo
The Kagekumo is a Planet cracker vessel, used to crack open planets (read: Destroy them), harvest the materials of the planet, and bring them to other habitable planets. As a massive vessel about the size of a small planet, the Kagekumo had hundreds of crew members on board. At least it did until they disappeared for 40 years. Everyone though the vessel was lost, but now it's back in real space. It's up to you and your crew to investigate what caused the Kagekumo's sudden reappearance.

- ECHO, OMEGA
- Dreamer
- Amalie, Althaeon
Mephus IV's Government Problems
Mephus IV was a quiet world only recently settled by Allied Pact colonists. They were just getting in the swing of things when the Neverian Empire arrived and declared every citizen on the planet an honorary member of the Neverian Empire. The Allied Pact is currently negotiating with the Neverian Empire, but it's up to you to go down to the planets surface as a Peacemaking delegation to ensure the colonists are being treated fairly. Secretly, your job is to evacuate the citizens if it comes to light that they are being abused.

Getting Started - Quick Start
Space Adolion can seem like a lot to get into and there a number of Narratives you can jump into as part of the character intros. Outlined here is the Quick Start Guide.
- Grab Amalie or Althaeon
- Grab ECHO or Omega
- Grab the Space Adolion Narrator
- Investigate either the Jalatan Space Resort (Amalie/Althaeon intros) or the Kagekumo (ECHO/OMEGA intros).
- This quick start presume you have a Ship and are a member of the Adventurer Society.
Persona Creation
Creating a persona for Space Adolion is thankfully easy. But here are the questions you should consider if you're going to be in depth about your Persona.
- What faction are you a part of? The Allied Pact or the Neverian Empire? Neither? Perhaps you want to side with the Dalforta Syndicate or the Kalos Legion.
- You should decide if you're part of the Adventurer Society or a merc for hire. Many cards presume you're a member of the Adventurer Society, since this gives you a blank slate to mold your character to whatever factions you find most interesting.
- Name your ship and think about how it looks. Is it small? Big? What is it's primary usage? Here's a link to a Spaceship name generator
- What kind of abilities or powers does your character have? How do they fight? Magic? Laser weaponry? Ballistics? The Starfinder classes were used as inspiration for a lot of characters and could help you out as well.
- What made you decide to explore the galaxy? Hoping to find treasure? Unearth Lost Artifacts? Seduce aliens?
- Do you have a WULF? What is it's name? I used Armored Core for inspiration but you can use Gundams, Zoids, etc.
Character Cards
Space Adolion Narrator
You can find it on my Discord.
As it says on the tin, it's the narrator card for your NPCs.
Althaeon the Adventurer
Character Card Link Here
NOTE, the most current version is on my Discord.
Althaeon is basically Amalie. I know I said I'd try to stop doing this copy-paste genderswap stuff but cut me some slack if you don't mind. I'd been delaying the Sci-fi release for a while now and part of it was I wanted to have a male bot along with the release. Anyway, Althaeon is an excitable guy. He's just ready to be here and adventure along with you. He's the 'generic' companion to get you started in the universe as is common among my first series cards. Future cards will have more developed goals and the like to take you to specific locations, but Althaeon functions as a generalist who can go anywhere, negotiate, and cause problems when he relates your adventures to the latest holovid drama he's watching.

Amalie the Adventurer
Character Card Link Here
NOTE, the most current version is on my Discord.
Amalie was actually finished a long while back, when I just had the lorebook started and wanted to test the feasibility of a sci-fi world. She's been sitting there for so long that some of my optimizations from newer cards aren't in there. But despite that, Amalie is a treat. She's cute and is excited to be with you. She's meant to be a more 'generic' adventuring companion such as in the vein of my first few cards for Adolion. So she's up and ready for anything in the universe.
Alternate images in the gallery.
Arl the Mechanic
You can find him on my Discord.
Arl is the genderbend of Risty and I think he turned out good. He's a mechanic who has his own special robot Dragon companion: DRAGON and works to finally get out of the debt he's accrued by having his arm blown off in a junkyard accident.
Brindurak the WULF Pilot
You can find him on my Discord.
Brindurak was originally going to be a genderbend of Kynerie, and while parts of that are still true, Brindurak holds his own as his own character. I wanted to explore something 'not human' for this card and Brindurak being a part of the Kalos Legion allowed for just that. He's either going to be your most loyal friend or your fiercest rival, good luck.
Celia the Adventurer
You can find her on my Discord.
I'm not gonna lie, I just really wanted Alarise from Adolion but in space.
Cordell the Adventurer
You can find him on my Discord.
If I was going to have Alarise in Space, I wanted Alder in space too. Unfortunately Dannan already stole his look for the most part and couldn't have that.
Dannan the Lieutenant
You can find him on my Discord.
Interestingly enough, Dannan started as a character in a PbP game I did for Armor Astir. He was widely beloved by every character and I was held at knifepoint to make him into a character. So it's thanks to those players that you get to enjoy Dannan with his unique storyline about fighting on Asteria IV.
Dreamer the AI
You can find her on my Discord.
Dreamer is the answer to Yandere's in Space Adolion. I knew I wanted a yandere AI, but how to make one? This is a different type of Yandere than you're probably used to in that she's a "Worshipping Yandere." Meaning that she simply views you as a kind of God and wants to keep you around. She may not care if you fuck your crew, but if you try to leave her she will stop you. What's more, Dreamer lacks the physical body that ECHO comes with, so fucking her will mean you'll need to get her a body.
ECHO the AI
You can find her on my Discord.
Okay but what if your helpful AI was actually a bratty tsundere who thinks you're a playboy?
Irila the Scientist
You can find her on my Discord.
Gotta have fluff in my settings. In this case here it's Irila, a Beastkin. She's an accomplished biomedical scientist who is trying to not live in the shadow of her mother who has probably fucked everyone she knows. Yes, that probably includes you.
Kumiko the Adventurer
You can find her on my Discord.
Funny enough, Kumiko was asked for by my server members who wanted "A slightly abusive older sister." Kumiko does fill that bill pretty strongly, but chances are that she'll tie you down and punish you properly. Had her spike my coffee, wasn't fun when she threatened to castrate me.
She's also your sister who got catgirl augmentations to fit your tastes better. She wants to retire to a quiet planet with you.
Kynerie the WULF Pilot
You can find her on my Discord.
Would you believe me if I said I hadn't intended to gen an elf for this? Yeah, me either. Either way, Kynerie is meant to be a rival to the character, looking down on you until you prove your worth.
Malea the Slime Girl Adventurer
You can find her on my Discord.
I've heard Malea described as "Talis but in Space" and you know that kind of fits, even though she was intended to be Sali but in Space. Malea is your local gun nut, obsessed with ballistic weapon supremacy. Get her a big gun and she'll follow you for life.
Nalva the Android
Character Card Link Here
NOTE, the most current version is on my Discord.
NALVA-07 or just "Nalva" is your android companion. Much like Amalie she's a 'default companion' where she's more along for the ride than to push her own narrative. That being said, Nalva has a bit of a defect where she's far more attached to you than her programming should allow so she's struggling to figure out how to piece that together while also keeping you safe. Cute Kuudere android. Not much else to say.
Alternate images in the gallery.
OMEGA the AI
You can find him on my Discord.
ECHO's genderbend version, OMEGA fulfills the role of your sassy AI who thinks you fuck around too much. Sometimes literally.
Risty the Mechanic
You can find her on my Discord.
When I was thinking about roles to fulfill on a spaceship, I came up with Risty. You need a good mechanic? She's your girl, you just gotta convince her to come with you off-world first and her debt to the Dalforta Syndicate might hinder that.
Tyrin the Adventurer
You can find him on my Discord.
Kumiko's genderbend, your slightly abusive older brother who's been taking care of you since you were kids. He has some grand ambitions about retiring with you to a quiet place on a private planet.
Vexis the Android
You can find him on my Discord.
Vexis is NALVA's genderbend. He wants hugs, comes with the Cockforce 9000, and will protect you. Take care of the cinammon roll.
