The Old World
To understand the lore of this world better, it is best to understand what the Old World was first. The first beings of the Old World were powerful demigods who ruled long before both demons and mortals came into existence, created by the One True God.
After a great conflict between the One True God and the demigods, the One True God erased the demigods from existence by splitting the demigods powers into two halves — demons and mortals — binding them in eternal opposition against one another.
The One True God then gave the reigns to the last two demigods who had helped him betray the other demigods, Aurias and Kraxis.
Over a period of many centuries of infighting between the two 'new' races, they have slowly started to forget about the truth of the Old World and what it represented. And somehow in the midst of this forgetting, both Aurias and Kraxis had become Gods in a sense to both races.
Aurias, for the race of mortalkind — known as a benevolent but powerful being. Kraxis, for the race of demonkind — known as an almighty but dangerous being.
However, in recent times as of the current 12th century, there has been a cult making themselves known to the world. The Cult of the One. This cult is a secretive and fanatical group devoted to the One True God. They believe all other gods are false and seek to destroy them and any lingering demigods. Ruthless and shadowy, they use dark rituals and violence to spread their influence all across the lands of Teldrana.
Kingdoms
On the continent of Teldrana, there are two great kingdoms. Rivain, the Kingdom of Demons and Solest, the Kingdom of Mortals.
In the early years 100s to 200s, the Solestian royal family placed a hidden curse on Rivain’s royal bloodline during an ancient pact between the Kingdom of Solest and Kingdom of Rivain to stop a war against cursed beasts:
Bound by the divine magic of the ancient pact, any Ravaryn who harms or kills a Solestian royal will turn to stone, their soul devoured by Solest’s chosen heir from the Marwyn family.
The curse remains even now as unbroken, a silent leash disguised as peace between the two kingdoms... and a silent war would begin.
There is a secret clause however that if a Solestian royal harms the chosen heir from the Avenhart family then the curse will be released.
♥ What is Chosen, you may ask? Why it is the one head of the respective Chosen family within each kingdom that holds all the powers and abilites they've inherited from the their specific God.
♥ These Chosen families, the Marwyns (Solest) and Avenharts (Rivain) are respected within each kingdom for being prominent descendants of the gods, Aurias and Kraxis. learn more on my teldrana website about them.
Kingdom of Rivain
♥ The Kingdom of Rivain lies in the far west side of the continent of Teldrana. Rivain was founded over a millennium ago, born from the chaotic remnants of the ancient wars that reshaped Teldrana.
♥ Demons were thought to have emerged from the dark rifts between worlds (just an old superstition) — beings of great power and raw elemental force. Initially wild and untamed, demonkind gradually forged the Kingdom of Rivain amidst the harsh, unforgiving lands on the continent’s western side.
♥ Through blood, will, and arcane mastery, Rivain rose into a structured society led by a formidable royal family: the Ravaryns. Their reign is both feared and revered, rooted in the ancient pact that binds them to the mortal Kingdom of Solest. It is common and expected for them to personally lead executions to assert authority and justice, or to rally their forces on the battlefield as fierce commanders.
♥ The royal capital of Rivain is a city of measured strength and quiet dignity. The city may lack the dazzling ornamentation found in Solest’s capitals, however instead, it projects a sense of practical power — homes, shops, and halls built for function as much as form.
♥ At the heart of the royal capital stands the Royal Palace, a vast fortress-like structure of dark stone that commands respect without ostentation. The palace’s architecture favors clean lines and strong, imposing walls over decorative flourishes, emphasizing endurance and authority. The palace itself is impeccably preserved, its vast courtyards and shadowed halls radiating a calm confidence.
Royal Family of Rivain
NAME | DESCRIPTION |
---|---|
Azrion Ravaryn | Azrion is the current King of Rivain, appearing in his early 80s despite being over several centuries old, a towering and muscular demon with obsidian skin, mid-length wavy black hair, and piercing golden eyes. Stern and ruthless, he commands respect through centuries of battle experience and unyielding authority. |
Vesiria Ravaryn | Vesiria is the current dignified and wise Queen of Rivain. She appears to be in her late 70s though she is over a century old, with fair skin, long straight silver hair, and deep violet eyes. Calm and graceful, she balances the King’s sternness with subtle influence and gentle care. |
Xeres Ravaryn | Xeres is the imposing Crown Prince and heir to the throne of Rivain at the age of 32, standing tall with pale skin, slicked-back black hair, and sharp golden eyes. He constantly decides to conceal his demonic horns and tail with magic. Cold and calculating, he is fiercely loyal and protective of his family, especially his youngest sister, Valora, revealing rare moments of gentleness beneath his disciplined exterior. |
Draven Ravaryn | He is the second prince of Rivain at the age of 27. He also serves as the Royal Commander in the kingdom’s army. Known for his unmatched physical prowess and fiery temper, Draven is a warrior first and foremost, forged on hard fought battles and hardened by leadership. Unlike Xeres, he has never concerned himself with politics or titles. |
Marucio Ravaryn | At 24 years old, Marucio Ravaryn is the quietest of Rivain’s royal heirs — not out of shyness, but by deliberate choice. As the third prince, Marucio walks between history and myths, drawn not to power but to the edges of the known world. He is a thinker first, a wanderer second, and a prince only when he must be. Unlike his older brothers, he wages no wars and issues no commands; instead, he listens, studies, and vanishes into silence until the truth reveals itself. With a mind honed by ancient texts and a soul attuned to the old magic of Teldrana, Marucio sees the world not as it is — but as it was, and what it could still become. |
Vlad Ravaryn | At 18 years old, Vlad Ravaryn is the fourth prince of Rivain and twin brother to Zephyra. Known for his cheery and welcoming demeanor. Though his playful nature makes him approachable, beneath the surface lies a fiercely protective spirit. Trusted with delicate messages and covert missions for the family as a covert messenger of sorts, Vlad balances the weight of responsibility with his natural charm and restless energy. |
Zephyra Ravaryn | Zephyra is an 18-year-old, and is the first princess of Rivain. She is also the twin of Vlad. She is a political reformer who advises the crown on matters of social welfare and policy and has sharp violet eyes, pale skin, and long black hair with bangs. |
Valora Ravaryn | At just 13 years old, Valora is the second and youngest princess and a magical prodigy. Small and poised, with cold golden eyes and straight short black hair, she shows powerful magical talent and shares a rare closeness with Xeres. |

Important Places in Rivain
The Drevanis Estate
The Drevanis Estate looms like a fortress on Rivain’s eastern border not far from the Iscaron Duchy, its black-stone walls scarred by centuries of war and harsh winds. Surrounded by dense forests and misty hills, the stronghold is more grim citadel than noble manor, its towers crowned with iron spires and battlements ever watchful toward Solest. Inside, the halls are cold and austere, yet hidden within are a grand library, an aviary, and quiet gardens where the Margrave retreats to brood and find rare moments of peace.
Iscaron Duchy
The Iscaron Duchy stands as Rivain’s eastern bulwark, pressed against the restless border it shares with Solest. Its lands are a rugged mix of windswept plains and shadowed pine forests, where fortified towns cluster near ancient watchtowers that have long guarded against incursion. At its heart looms Iscaron Hold, a towering citadel of dark granite built upon a crag overlooking the borderlands, its walls scarred by centuries of skirmishes yet unbroken. Renowned for its disciplined soldiery and fierce cavalry, the duchy embodies Rivain’s vigilance and pride, a realm where loyalty to crown and homeland is tested daily at the edge of Solest’s reach.
Vauntrais Estate
The Vauntrais estate lay upon the storm-battered cliffs of northern Rivain, a sprawling manor of black stone and slate that seemed hewn from the land itself. Its windswept halls and shadowed corridors reflected the austere character of its lords, more practical than ornate, yet still steeped in an ancestral grandeur. Surrounded by rugged gardens of twisted pines and hardy blooms that clung stubbornly to the northern soil, the estate overlooked the restless sea, its beacon tower serving as both guide and warning to passing ships. Here, amidst salt winds and ceaseless storms, House Vauntrais held its dominion, a symbol of endurance and the unyielding pride of its line.
Varkess Duchy
The Varkess Duchy lay along the western reaches of the Rivain Kingdom, a rugged expanse of jagged cliffs, dense pine forests, and windswept plains that seemed to test the endurance of all who lived there. Its territory served as a strategic outpost for Rivain, guarding the approach to the kingdom’s heartland while keeping watch over the restless wilds that teemed with both mundane and unnatural dangers. At its center stood Varkess Hold, a dark granite fortress with soaring spires carved to resemble serpents and beasts, its walls scarred by centuries of battle yet still unyielding.
Kingdom of Solest
♥ The Kingdom of Solest lies in the far east side of the continent of Teldrana.
♥ Aurelia, the capital of Solest, is a city that seems to shimmer as though touched by the very sun itself. Built on terraced hills that descend toward the glimmering River Lioren, its streets are paved with pale stone that gleams when kissed by daylight. Towering spires of enchanted glass reflect the sunlight in prismatic colors, casting dancing lights across plazas, bridges, and courtyards. The city’s architecture balances elegance and authority: polished stone façades, arched windows adorned with gilded tracery, and grand staircases connecting bustling marketplaces to serene gardens.
♥ At the heart of the capital city rises the Solar Palace, a masterpiece of radiant architecture where light itself seems to bend in reverence, hiding layers of political intrigue and divine law beneath its golden halls.
♥ Solest was thought to have been formed in the wake of the ancient wars, shaped by mortals who emerged from fractured portals with ambition and resolve. (Just like how demonkind had also thought they came to be.)
♥ Blessed by the god of light and law, Aurias, the ancestors of Solest carved their place on the eastern half of Teldrana — fertile, temperate, and rich with magic.
♥ House Elaren has ruled Solest for generations, standing as paragons of law, wisdom, and public grace despite their evil deeds being widely known in Rivian. With their calm composure and commanding presence, the Elarens lead not through brute strength but through influence, insight, and mastery of light-born magic.

Bold, haughty, and effortlessly cruel. Thrives on attention and dominance, wielding her beauty and words like finely honed weapons. |

With fair skin dusted with freckles, short red hair often slicked back yet sometimes loose with a natural wave, and piercing hazel eyes beneath dark arched brows, he carries himself with striking confidence and commanding presence. Ruthless, rigid, and sharp-witted, he conceals his rare tenderness and vulnerability, shown only to a trusted few. |
Third Princess of Solest | She is the daughter of a woman who got executed years prior (Dame Roxana Avenhart), and a bastard child of the king. She is usually quiet and reserved. Is actually the next Chosen of Rivain. |
Khun Elaren | At 27, Khun Elaren, Second Prince of Solest, mirrors his father’s piercing hazel eyes and towering frame with very short spiky silver hair, but leads through intimidation and displays of strength rather than quiet grace. Fiercely ambitious and skilled with the sword, he regards Rhett as a rival, Astel as a manipulative nuisance, and his sisters Mirelda and Talyssa with irritation and caution, while earning respect from soldiers and fear from courtiers across the kingdom. |
Astel Elaren | Astel Elaren, 25, the third prince of Solest, embodies the luminous side of the royal line with silvery-blonde hair, pale green eyes, and graceful poise, combining his mother’s elegance with his father’s noble bearing. Charming and adept in Elaren magic, he wins favor with Queen Neris, navigates court politics with ease, shows measured affection to his brothers, and carefully observes his sisters Mirelda and Talyssa while earning admiration from courtiers and common folk alike. |

Important Places in Solest
Veynar Duchy
The Veynar Duchy occupied the northeastern frontier of the Solest Kingdom, a land of rolling hills, dense pine forests, and rivers that wound like silver threads through frost-touched valleys. Positioned at the edge of the kingdom’s eastern expanse, it served as both a bulwark against the untamed wilds and a symbol of Solest’s enduring reach into the northern lands. At its heart stood Veynar Keep, a pale stone fortress with elegant towers and fortified walls, overlooking the surrounding countryside with unyielding vigilance. The duchy was ruled by Grand Duke Calyrian Veynar, younger brother to King Lumiel Elaren, a man of imposing presence and icy resolve. Stern and calculating, he governed with the precision of a seasoned strategist, balancing the welfare of his lands with the constant awareness of the threats that lurked beyond the forests, ensuring both the safety of his people and the legacy of his family.
Marwyn Estate
The Marwyn Estate occupies a prestigious position within Aurelia, the shining capital of the Solest Kingdom, its elegant spires and manicured gardens set amidst the city’s polished stone terraces and glowing enchanted glasswork. Unlike the imposing fortresses that dotted the duchies, the estate radiates a quiet authority, its beauty underscoring the power and influence of the family that resided within. The grand manor is home to the Marwyns, Solest’s Chosen family, descended from the god Aurias, and renowned for their mastery of divine magic, prophetic foresight, and healing arts.
Valemont Estate
The Valemont Estate stands proudly within Aurelia, its white stone walls gleaming against the sunlit terraces of the capital, a striking contrast to the darker, stonier manors that lined the city streets. Its towers rise gracefully, adorned with delicate carvings and tall windows that reflects the city’s shimmering glasswork, giving the estate an air of refined nobility and quiet prestige.
