Acronyms. These names are needed to remember while reading my Rentry and my uploads on subtitle websites.
- NF - Netflix.
- DSNP - Disney Plus.
- AMZN - Prime Video.
- PTMP - Paramount Plus.
- KCW - KOCOWA. The Americas version of WAVVE.
- KPA - K-Plus Asia. A cable only Korean content channel in Southeast Asia with VOD of their shows is provided by cable operators and recently partnered with an OTT platform which is VIDIO, SOOKA and Astro GO.
- VIU - Popular OTT platform in Southeast Asia, Hongkong and select middle eastern regions.
- VIKI - Popular OTT platform with Asian titles subtitled by fans/volunteers.
- VIDIO - Indonesian based OTT platform. With majority of Indonesian titles and select Asian content.
- HULU - Disney+'s General Entertainment app except in Japan as Hulu is currently owned by Nippon TV's parent company. (A unified app with Disney+ is set to released this year tho unsure if this will effect other regions with a different version of Disney+)
- TVING - A popular Korean OTT platform for cable networks majority are from CJENM networks' tvN and Mnet and jTBC with select MBN, Channel A, TV Chosun and KT Studio Genie programming in there. (Merge with WAVVE has been approved as of August 2025 with conditions. Merged OTT name, TBA. Double pass with WAVVE has been launched)
- WV/WAVVE - Another popular Korean OTT platform for the big 3 aerial networks especially KBS, and MBC. Some SBS affiliated channels and TV Chosun content is also available there. (Merge with TVING has been approved as of August 2025 with conditions. Merged OTT name, TBA. Double pass with WAVVE has been launched. Due to a recently signed exclusive agreement with Netflix, majority of SBS content will no longer be available on WAVVE on September 30, 2025 but few shows + SBS affiliated channels will still be available there.)
- CPNG - Coupang Play, a subscription-based video streaming service launched by Coupang (the Korea's AMZN) launched in December 2020.
- Dubtitle - Can also be named as dubbed subtitles. Subtitles that are based on the dub script rather than the direct translation from its original language. Source: [1] [2]
