Hey everyone! I wanted to share something we've been working on that I'm genuinely excited about. This is a completely optional system that doesn't affect the Free Queue or any core functionality - it's just here to make WyvernChat more fun and help creators feel appreciated.

What Even Is This?

Think of it like the Steam Points Shop, but community-driven. You earn Crystals (your "hoard" - yes, like a dragon) by participating in the community, and you can spend them on cosmetics, bounties, and supporting creators you love.

This system does NOT affect:

  • The Free Queue (still completely free)
  • Creating content (always free)
  • Using content (always free)
  • Any core platform features

Seriously, this is just here to add a fun layer of community interaction and recognition.

Crystals - Your Dragon Hoard

Crystals are the community currency. You start with 1,500 crystals when you join, and you get 50 crystals every day just for logging in.

How to earn Crystals:

  • Complete bounties (someone pays you to make a bot they want!)
  • Receive boosts on your content (people tipping you for your work)
  • Daily login bonus (50 crystals/day)
  • Daily quests (browse Explore, try new bots, test presets, etc.) (IN PROGRESS)
  • Bob's Bounties (AI-generated daily bounties - small but easy rewards) (IN PROGRESS)
  • Events and CardRoyale competitions (IN PROGRESS)

What you can spend Crystals on:

  • Posting bounties (request custom bots instead of begging for them!)
  • Boosting content creators (show appreciation for bots you love)
  • Cosmetics from the Crystal Shop (avatar borders, profile animations, nameplates, badges)
  • Event entries (like CardRoyale - bot competitions where you vote and winner takes the prize pool)

User Score & Ranks

User Score is basically meaningless bragging rights. It puts you on a leaderboard and gives you a rank (think Overwatch-style ranking). Higher ranks get discounts on posting bounties, which is nice but not game-changing.

You earn User Score by:

  • Completing bounties (adds crystals earned to your score)
  • Receiving boosts (adds boost amount to your score)
  • Giving boosts (adds 30% of amount spent to your score)
  • Daily quests and Bob's Bounties

The 8 Ranks:

Rank | Score Needed | Bounty Posting Discount
--------------------------|-------------------|------------------------
Novice Creator | 0 - 999 | 0%
Apprentice Creator | 1,000 - 4,999 | 5%
Adept Creator | 5,000 - 14,999 | 10%
Expert Creator | 15,000 - 39,999 | 15%
Master Creator | 40,000 - 99,999 | 20%
Grandmaster Creator | 100,000 - 249,999 | 25%
Legendary Creator | 250,000 - 499,999 | 30%
Mythic Creator | 500,000+ | 35%

Your User Score never goes down - it's cumulative. Rank up by contributing to the community however you want.

Bounties - Request Bots Without Begging

This is for people like me who want to make bots but are running low on ideas, and for users who want specific content but don't want to just beg in Discord.

How it works:

  1. Post a bounty - Pay crystals to request a bot with specific requirements (tags, complexity, quality standards, etc.)
  2. Multiple people can submit - Anyone can try to fulfill your bounty
  3. You pick a winner - Review submissions and choose your favorite
  4. Rewards distributed - Winner gets the full reward, but other qualifying submissions get partial rewards too

Bounty requirements can include:

  • Required/forbidden tags
  • WyvernScript (+200 cost, +300 reward)
  • Multicharacter (+150 cost, +250 reward)
  • NPCs, Sprites, Lorebooks, Alternate Greetings
  • Minimum quality standards (description length, personality depth, scenario complexity)
  • Rating requirements (none/mature/explicit)

Base costs: 100 crystals to post, 200 crystals reward. More complex requirements add to both cost and reward. Higher ranks get posting discounts.

Why partial rewards? Because even if you're not chosen as the winner, you still put in work and met the requirements. The system encourages participation - multiple people can complete bounties, and even non-winners get something for their effort.

Content Boosts - Tip Your Favorite Creators

Boosts are how you show appreciation for content you love. It's basically tipping with extra steps.

How it works:

  • You spend crystals to boost someone's character, lorebook, or connection
  • They receive 80% of the crystals you spent (the other 20% is removed as a "tax" to prevent people from gaming the system with alt accounts)
  • Their User Score increases by the full amount you spent
  • Your User Score increases by 30% of what you spent
  • You can include a message or boost anonymously

Currently boostable: Characters, Lorebooks, Connections

Coming soon: Scenarios, Worlds, Stories, Gallery Images, and more! Also, vanity boosts with stickers instead of vanilla boosts.

Example:

  • You boost someone's character with 100 crystals
  • You spend 100 crystals, gain 30 User Score
  • They receive 80 crystals, gain 100 User Score
  • 20 crystals removed to keep the economy healthy

Rules: You can't boost your own content. Don't be a douche and try to cheese the system with alt accounts - if people abuse this, I'll just make the leaderboard alphabetical by rank and remove the numbers entirely. This is meant to make people feel good about using the site, don't ruin it.

Daily Quests & Bob's Bounties (IN PROGRESS)

Daily Quests are random challenges that change every day and are different for each user:

  • Browse Explore and boost X number of bots
  • Chat with X new bots
  • Try a preset or connection
  • Try lorebooks
  • Make new friends
  • And more!

Bob's Bounties are AI-generated daily bounties created by Bob (our auto-moderation agent). Everyone can complete these for small rewards. They're relatively simple and designed to be accessible.

Both earn you crystals and User Score!

Crystal Shop - Community Driven Cosmetics

This is where it gets interesting. The shop sells cosmetics like:

  • Avatar Borders
  • Profile Animations
  • Nameplates (displays under your username)
  • Badges (new way to earn existing badges + new ones)

Items are tiered by cost/quality. Eventually we'll have item trading/gifting between users (not direct crystal transfers though).

Here's the cool part: Users can submit items to the shop and earn partial crystals when their items are purchased! It's like a marketplace where the community creates cosmetics for each other.

The process:

  1. Submit your cosmetic design
  2. WyvernChat staff review and approve it
  3. Once approved, it can't be edited (except for fixes/improvements)
  4. Other users buy it, you earn a cut

This isn't just Steam Points Shop - it's community-created content earning community currency. That's new and interesting.

Events & CardRoyale (IN PROGRESS)

CardRoyale - Bot competitions where everyone pays crystals to enter and votes on bots (except your own). Winner takes the entire prize pool. Can be done with other content types too, but characters are the first implementation. No User Score earned here, just crystals.

Guild Events - Guilds can host events where members pool crystals for prize pools. Event voting systems help manage this. Guilds can also purchase shop sections with crystals and submit guild-themed cosmetics for members (still requires core team approval).

The Philosophy Here

This entire system is designed to:

  1. Encourage interaction - Try new content, explore the platform
  2. Show appreciation - Support creators whose work you love
  3. Add accomplishment - Feel good about leveling up and contributing
  4. Community-driven - Users create content for other users
  5. Completely optional - Doesn't affect anything if you ignore it

The Free Queue stays free. Content creation stays free. Content usage stays free. This is just a layer on top to make the community more engaging and help creators feel proud of their work.

Don't cheese the system, don't be a douche, and let's make this something that actually makes WyvernChat better for everyone.
