How Do You Explain Bentley Key Fob Programming To A Five-Year-Old

Bentley Mulsanne Key Celebrates Its Centenary

Mulliner Bentley's coachbuilding unit bespoke, has created a unique keycase to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Bentley brand. Made from Dark Stained Burr Walnut and Piano Black veneer, it includes a fluttering 'B' paperweight, a set of keys and a brochure that features never-before-seen 1930 8 Litre imagery.

It's a great present to introduce a new owner to their luxurious vehicle.

Aesthetics

As a design-centric company Bentley takes its aesthetics extremely seriously. It's evident in the precise location of its quilting the selection of leather from the by-products of cattle, timber from forests that are sustainably managed and the creative patterns on its levers. As you approach a vehicle like the Continental GT W12, its sculptural beauty is displayed through carefully selected lighting.

The Continental GT is Bentley's most sophisticated open-top car. The rear tonneau of Continental GT, for instance included the largest piece ever of dark-stained Burr Walnut veneer that was book-matched. Similarly, the electrically-operated glass sunroof and champagne cooler that incorporated hand-blown and hand-cut lead crystal bottles marked a new benchmark in luxury and innovation.

It is this unique design, attention to detail and craftsmanship to detail that has established Bentley as the world's most desirable automotive brand. The company continues pushing boundaries using the most advanced technologies and hand-crafted products. This includes the introduction of an electronic tilt-opening rear window sunroof and a handcrafted Apple iPad docking station.

Bentley celebrated its 100th anniversary this year, one hundred years after it was established. The marque, which is now owned by Volkswagen alone following years of disputes with BMW and BMW, has planned a range of special launches and events to mark this milestone. The company planned a range of special occasions and launches to mark the milestone event before the planning of a pandemic became a priority.

Bentley is known for its extravagant and lavish automobiles and keys, but even keys are made to stand out. The Bentayga Key is made of sterling silver and features a large B' logo to let everyone know that you're driving a Bentley. The key is also inscribed with the dates 1919 and 2019, to mark the company’s centenary.

Bentley Mulliner redesigned and developed the Mulsanne to become the ultimate Grand Touring vehicle. The rear seats were designed to provide passengers with the most comfortable and private experience. They were inspired by the luxury private aircraft. The unique heating and ventilation system as well as the air conditioning system was developed to give each passenger the perfect temperature control.

The Mulsanne features twin turbocharged 6.75 litre W12 engine that puts out 560bhp, and 479lb-ft of torque. This incredibly powerful power is paired with a new suspension that offers Bentley's signature quiet ride.

In celebration of its Centenary, Bentley introduced a unique specification known as the Centenary Specification for vehicles built in 2019. The cabin has cross-stitching, and contrast stitching in Centenary Gold throughout. The Bentley Wings on the headrests and seats are embroidered in Centenary Gold, adding to the sense of celebration. A custom Bentley key case is also included in the Centenary Specification, making the Bentley experience all-inclusive.

Function

The Bentley Mulsanne Key comes with two buttons that open the trunk, and the other that is used to start the vehicle. It also has a button to activate the parking break. There is a knob that can fold and unfold the mirrors while parking in tight spots. This feature can aid you in getting in and out of your car more quickly.

The key is made of vegetable tanned leather and takes more than two days to make each one. It is hand cut, shaped, sewn, sealed, and polished to produce an excellent finish. It is lightweight and durable, and it fits the Bentley key perfectly. Its design is similar with the Volkswagen Phaeton's large car key, but feels heavier and more luxurious.

Secure-A-Key is also available to help prevent keyless entry theft. The device is placed inside the remote control key fob and disables it after a few minutes of inactivity. This stops thieves from transmitting the key's frequency to other devices which can unlock and start the vehicle.

Bentley's distinctive design reflects the company's values of exquisite craftsmanship and engineering expertise as well as modern technology. More than 4,000 employees work at its Crewe headquarters, where they are responsible for the development, design, and production of Bentley automobiles. They employ techniques passed over generations and then apply them to cutting-edge automotive technology. This is British manufacturing at its best.

Personalisation

Bentley's Mulliner division allows customers to design their own vehicle. The customers sit at a set of pictures referred to as "mood stations" and select a series of photos ranging from scenic views to sporting events that are inspiring to them. As each selection is made, a pattern will emerge that reveals the models and colors of the personalized Bentley.

The guests are given a key case made by hand, which contains the R.F.I.D. enabled key cards. The keys can also be outfitted with Bentley Muliner Personalised Welcome Lamps that illuminate the door's opening path with the owner's name or logo as they make their way towards the vehicle.

Bentley estimates that it takes 500 man-hours on average to build and put together the Mulsanne. One of the main reasons for that lengthy effort is a conscious refusal to embrace modern tech. The Crewe factory workers don't employ a machine to place perfectly matched cross stitched leather seats. Instead they do it by hand. Drivers must park their cars manually, not using sensors built-in to direct them to perpendicular and parallel spaces.

Bentley displayed its Mulliner personalization abilities with a unique Mulsanne W.O. Edition, that pays homage to the founder William Osler Bentley. The 100 limited edition cars come with the key, which displays an item from the 1930 8 Litre crankshaft.
