20 Things You Need To Know About Robots That Vacuum And Mop
Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and clean provide the convenience of cleaning dry debris and wet messes in one session without the need to switch between devices. They can also help save space when compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot must have impressive navigation and obstacle avoidance. Find models that automatically empty their bins and fill up their water tank and machine-wash their mopping pads using an appropriate dock.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It's one of the simplest robots to set up that we've ever tested. Unpacking is simple and the quick-start guide will have you up and running in no time. You'll have a an entire dust bag, water tank and a hard floor.
The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that is able to clean up a storm and vacuums well too. The mops spin at high speed and use 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to swiftly get rid of pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner comes with four power settings, a variety of brushes and attachments as well as an intuitive app which lets you select the type of cleaning you'd like to do for each room.
You can, for example, ask the robot to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly but leave the spare bedroom alone. The S1 Pro's front colision sensors and smart navigation tech are superb, with the robot being capable of detecting tiny obstacles that other models have difficulty overcoming. The only drawback is that the robot tends to crash into walls and objects at a high speed. However an inspection of the history of cleaning on the app will show you exactly what the robot has done, where it is moving, and what obstacles he has run into or avoided.
The docking station comes with a handy LCD screen that indicates the need for maintenance for cleaning up debris and cleaning the dirty water tank. It's also capable of mixing detergent automatically into the water tank, using a 600ml bottle of Eufy's own solution.
Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum come with a long-running time. The mop is able to run for 184 mins in Quiet Mode. The vacuum can last for 136 minutes in normal mode, before needing to recharge or returning back to the base. The app is easy to use and intuitive that lets you see every aspect of the cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the most recent version of Roborock's flagship robot mop and vacuum, is the most up-to-date version. The model this year has two agitators built into its mopping pad. This enhances the cleaning capabilities of carpets with this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an enhanced suction power that enables it to remove finer hairs and other debris other robotic cleaners could miss.
This Roborock model, just like the other two I tested, has infrared and reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology to help it get around obstacles like furniture, walls and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things one step further by adding a dual camera which can recognize objects and determine whether they're an object that is a wall or a different surface. It will then automatically alter its path and clean them without skipping a beat.
This is the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed but it's also packed with features. Its sleek, angular design is eye-catching and it only has three physical buttons: the power button, that also resumes cleaning; a mop-only button that doubles as a child lock; and a home button that can return the robot to its dock. The hinged lid can be lifted to reveal the 350ml dust bin as well as a 200ml water tank. The water tank self-empties, and the bin is auto-refilling.
The only downside I've discovered with this model is that its VibraRise mop pad mount is not removable. It is possible to change the mopping cloth if needed, but it's difficult to take the mount off to wash it manually. I've observed that any carpet that the robot crosses will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on mounts, which can cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a variety of smart features that include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. The Roborock app lets you manage and configure these features. It also has maps and advanced mopping options. The app allows you to plan cleanings and monitor the battery's life. But you'll need to jump through a few hoops to enable voice control on this model which is a pity considering the quality of its performance.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop that has exceptional suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and ingenuity features. Its smart design allows you to customize and efficiently clean while reducing time.
The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to feature 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is one of the most powerful options available. This powerful vacuum removes the dry mess, which includes pet hair and dust. It also comes with a top-quality mop that makes hard floors sparkling clean, even with a wet pad. In addition, the X40 is quiet in it's operation, producing only occasional bursts of noise when switching between modes or performing self-maintenance tasks.
Another standout feature is the X40's expandable and liftable side brushes, that allows it to reach difficult-to-access corners and clean furniture, such as tables and chair legs. It also lets the robot to get under furniture that is low-profile, making it a great choice for small apartments and condominiums with small spaces. robot vacuums cheap tilts down when it spots wet spots. This is a nice feature that helps the X40 to prevent damage to floors from repeated back-and-forth movements.
Contrary to other robots which only focus on one task, the X40 can do both vacuuming and mopping at the same time or in a series. It can also be programmed to skip areas that have carpet and only mop hard floors, or vice versa. It can be controlled by the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operations.
The app is easy to use and intuitive and the X40 has many smart features that are easy to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, alter suction power and mode, see floor plans and mapping, and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also monitor its progress, and alert you when it's finished.
The X40 is easy to keep clean and has many convenient features which make it a good option for busy families. Its docking station automatically empties the trash bin into a 3.2 L bin, washes the mop pads, and refills them with clean water and cleaning solution. It can also tell when the mop pad is full and notify you when it gets overflowing, reducing the requirement for manual maintenance.

4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's among the most expensive models available however, it comes with numerous additional features that set it apart. Smart DuoScrub, a new feature in its mops, uses two high-speed mop heads to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a suction force of 7,000Pa. This is higher than Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also clean pet hair, small dirt particles and remove spills and dirty spots.
The mops are cleaned and dried at the base station each time they are used. This is an excellent feature since it prevents the build-up of mould and unpleasant odours in storage, and also makes the mop system more efficient. This is an option we haven't seen on other robot mop and vacuum models. It could be a great way to keep your home cleaner longer.
There are plenty of choices, including the possibility to schedule cleaning times and adjust preferences. They can be set through the app or buttons on the unit itself. The app is easy to use and has a lot of options to customize the cleaning routine. Additionally, there are a lot of features that other robots do not include, such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power when it detects dust particles, instead of relying on a manual setting.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most elegant robots we've seen in the market, with metallic and white design that is elegant and stylish. It's a bit heavier than the other two-in-1 robots on this list, at 4kg - but it's not obscenely heavy either, and it feels robust and well built. The mopping system is also well designed, and the double rotating mop is great for hard floors or in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to extend up to 2mm below the baseboards.
