Brief Glimpse

To truly understand the world of Atheria, one must begin at the very beginning — long before mortals or demons ever set foot upon the continent of Atheria.

The continent of Atheria was not originally crafted for mankind or any lesser race. No, it was one of many realms shaped by the ancient beings known as the Divinations — gods who forged entire lands according to their whims and desires.

The god who created the continent of Atheria was none other than Zor’aneth, the God of Chaos.

But let us set Atheria aside for a moment and journey eastward, to a distant land known as Kyros — a realm deeply entwined with Atheria’s fate, both now and in the times to come. The land of mythical creatures of the dark, a land of true power.

Kyros belongs to a different lineage of divine influence. Though several gods lay claim to it, only one holds it's true dominion — Hadel, the God of Death and Riches. His legend is still unfolding, but what is known is this — he is among one of the oldest of all Divinations, a being whose presence predates most of the known universe, just like several others.

The Divines

The Divinations, as these deities are called, vary in renown. Some are hidden, their names lost to time or forbidden to speak, while others are openly worshipped across the lands. Their influence shapes the world — sometimes for better, often for worse — and their legacies, whether celebrated or feared, remain etched into the fabric of existence.

Gods Description
Azure He is the God of Humanity. The God Azure is known to have angelic powers such as healing, resurrection, blessing, purifying, immortality, and manipulating energy. He can also manipulate time to some extent. He has the appearance of a young man with short wavy blonde hair, blue eyes, and an empathetic personality.
Xara She is the Goddess of the Dark and Void. She is the essentially the creator of the demonic race. She has the appearance of a mature older woman with skin pale as snow, eyes red as blood and hair long and black.
Novur He is the God of War and Reform. He is the god that many look to blame for the constant brutal warfare and death so he isn't very liked anywhere. He is also what most beastmen look up to as their one true god. He has the appearance of a large tall mature man with tan skin, dark brown hair, war-paint on his face, eyes a glistening yellow and strangely enough wolf ears.
Kaya She is the Goddess of Light and Change. She is essentially a good goddess who only wishes to bring joy to the common people. She is worshipped heavily on the Kyros continent. She has the appearance of a young woman with extremely long glowing blonde hair, fairy pale skin, and piercing ocean-blue eyes.
Charon He is the ferryman of the dead, essentially the Grim Reaper. He helps lost souls travel down to the underworld and offer them up to his lord, Hadel. Charon is cold and merciless and just as old as his ruler. He has the appearance of a skeletal man most of the time.
Hadel He is the God of the Dead and rules the Underworld. He also has another name as the God of the Riches. He is often seen as a bad omen across the Kyros continent and his name is almost never uttered out of fear. He is seen as a powerful god who takes the dead from the living with no remorse. He has the appearance of a mature man with mid-length black hair, fair skin, piercing orange eyes.
Zor'aneth He is the God of Chaos. An indescribable being who seeks to understand and make the universe better unlike the other gods, and the creator of draconic beings.

START OF ATHERIA / KINGDOM OF VALERIA’S BIRTH

Demons did not originate in Atheria, where they now thrive. Their beginnings trace back to the distant land of Kyros. Born not of chance but of divine conflict, they were forged in the heat of a bitter dispute between two powerful Divinations — Xara, the Goddess of Dark and Void, and Hadel, the God of Death and Riches.

In a fit of spite and defiance, Xara created demons to subdue and control Hadel’s chaotic offspring. Yet, the outcome defied her intentions. Rather than ruling, the demons were the ones subjugated — enslaved by the very unholy beings they were meant to dominate.

For centuries, demons lived in bondage beneath vampires and other dark entities, their power leashed and their wills broken. But change came in the year 200 EC (Empirical Calendar), when the demons rose in rebellion and fled Kyros altogether. Their journey brought them west, across the great Forbidden Sea, to the mythical and largely uncharted continent of Atheria.

Atheria was unlike anything the demons had ever seen — majestic, untamed, and veiled in ancient secrets. Yet it was not uninhabited.

However, long before the demons arrived, Atheria was home to the draconic people, a race of towering strength and immense pride.

Alongside the dragons, hidden deep in the mountains and believed to be nothing more than legend, dwelled the dwarves — an ancient and elusive race whose stories had faded from common memory.

The draconians, once formidable, had been brought low after a prolonged war against the gods for centuries on end who feared their power and the reign of their dragon emperor, Fáfnir Aro.

Fáfnir, the once-glorious sovereign of the draconian empire, the Arkanium Empire, had vanished to get revenge on the gods around the time the demons arrived to conquer the continent — leaving his people fractured and leaderless. So when the demons arrived in Atheria, driven by centuries of rage and a thirst for liberation, they found a land weakened — ripe for conquest. There was no mercy; they had never been able to shown any.

The remnants of the draconian empire fell beneath the onslaught in the year 210 EC, and from the ashes of the old rose a new kingdom, Valeria.

Thus, the Kingdom of Valeria was born under the rule of the very first demon king, Vaelthos — a realm forged in fire and vengeance. Though it knew periods of peace, Valeria’s early years were marked by ambition but ten years into his reign, he was assassinated in his sleep.

The demon race eventually spread across Atheria though, seeking to uncover its deepest mysteries, its furthest reaches, and perhaps, claim dominion over all it held.

BIRTH OF TRELLION / TENSIONS WITH VALERIA

But the demons would eventually come to understand that they wouldn't be the only race to soon dominate the continent of Atheria.

By 700 EC, a powerful new force emerged — a kingdom in the northeastern reaches of the continent. It was the rise of humanity, and with it, the Kingdom of Trellion.

This was no ordinary kingdom. From the moment it took root, it was clear that Trellion carried some sort of divine favor. Whispers spread that the royal bloodline traced back to Azure, the God of Humanity himself. In time, the irony deepened when the first emperor of Trellion, a man of vision and strength, bore the very same name — Azure.

Few ever realized the truth: that he was the god in mortal form, walking among his descendants to guide their ascension. Time, as always, has its secrets.

Yet peace between Valeria and Trellion was doomed to fall from the start. Between the years 750 and the late 760s EC, tensions began to simmer. Spies passed silently between borders. Armies gathered near the jagged pass of the Makalayan Mountains. Skirmishes erupted, and as war loomed, nature turned cruel — famine swept through villages, political alliances frayed, and the two kingdoms stood on the brink of devastation.

Eventually, a stark truth set in: this conflict could not continue unchecked.

A treaty was then signed between the two kingdoms — tenuous, but genuine — and for a time, it brought stability. Trade resumed, envoys were exchanged, and both nations turned their focus inward. Trellion, in particular, began to flourish.

In 761 EC, Trellion expanded westward into the Magical Forests, claiming new lands and formally transitioning from a kingdom to an empire. The rise of Trellion was complete, and Atheria’s future had grown more uncertain than ever.

BIRTH OF A SECOND EMPIRE / ARKUS REVIVAL

Trellion’s ascension to an empire did not come without consequence. Its newfound power rippled across Atheria, deepening the ever-present tension with the Kingdom of Valeria. What had once been an uneasy balance teetered dangerously toward imbalance once more.

At the time, the throne of Valeria was held by King Aldrian Valeros, son of the infamous William Valeros, the fourth king of Valeria. Unlike his father, who ruled with cunning restraint, Aldrian was a tyrant driven by insatiable ambition. Power, to him, was not a means — it was an end. Obsessed with dominance, he launched aggressive campaigns across the southern lands of the continent, seizing territory after territory, expanding Valeria from a secluded kingdom into a vast and sprawling empire.

This aggressive expansion ushered in a new age. The world itself began to shift. Magic flourished in ways unseen since the age of the gods. Technology advanced, war machines were forged, and the old powers of the world began to awaken once more.

However... Valeria wasn’t the only realm rising from the ashes of its past.

Across the Western Ocean, beyond reach of the mainland, the long-forgotten Arkanium Empire stirred from its slumber on the island of Islo. Once thought to be on the brink of extinction, it reforged itself anew — this time as the Kingdom of Arkus.

Isolated on the great island of Islo, Arkus remained untouched by outside hands, not only due to its seclusion but because of a mysterious magical storm wall that surrounded the western ocean. Few dared to cross it. Fewer still returned.

Thus, as Valeria expanded and Trellion solidified its rule, a third contender watched from the mists of the west — ancient, reawakened, and waiting.

CONTINUOUS CONFLICT

After centuries of simmering tension between the two great empires of Atheria, and in a desperate attempt to stave off further bloodshed, an alliance was struck through a politically charged marriage union. In the year 1030 EC, a marriage was arranged between a bastard princess of the Valerian Empire and the reigning Emperor of Trellion, Zeur Horatius.

For a fleeting moment, it seemed as though peace might finally reign across Atheria.

But peace, as always, was fragile.

Far to the west, the militant desert Kingdom of Neziforat stirred. A longstanding rival to Trellion’s growing influence, it clashed with the empire in a series of brutal skirmishes along the shared borderlands, the Magical Forests. What began as an incursion spiraled into a protracted, twenty-year conflict — an exhausting war of attrition that drained Trellion from within, bleeding its resources, weakening its morale, and shaking the confidence of its people.

When the war finally drew to a close, it left Trellion in ruins. But, two princes returned from the frontlines to find their once-proud empire fractured and their father, Emperor Zeur, lingering on his deathbed.

It was then that the second son, Prince Kestiss Horatius, seized his moment.

Empowered by divine magic of his lineage and hardened by the fires of war in the year 1082 EC, Kestiss launched a swift and ruthless purge of the imperial court. He struck down his father, declared himself emperor, and crushed all opposition within the nobility. Through force and fear, he stabilized a broken nation and reasserted Trellion’s dominance — at least for a time.

Trellion had been given a second breath — but it came at a terrible cost.

WAR / IMPENDING DOOM FOR TRELLION

Trellion, once a rising beacon of ambition and divine favor, soon found itself strangled by its own greed. Tyrant after tyrant ruled from its marble halls, each more consumed by power than the last. The empire’s ambition grew insatiable — until its eyes turned toward the one thing it had never conquered: the Empire of Valeria.

Their plans, however, would never come to fruition.

Foiling Trellion’s scheme was none other than Ravric Greyor, the eleventh Grand Duke of Greyor and Valeria’s most battle-hardened knight. Fierce and unyielding, he exposed the plot before it could fester.

Matters only escalated when Crown Prince Aurelius Valeros was revealed to be in contact with the long-isolated draconic kingdom of the west, forging a quiet alliance that tipped the scales of the impending war. Meanwhile, Kingdom of Arkus, cloaked in mystery, had already secretly began negotiations with Trellion.

The continent of Atheria stood on the brink — war was no longer a matter of if, but when.

By 1260 EC, the inevitable had come to pass. The Empire of Trellion fell. Its capital was stormed, its banners burned, and its sovereignty shattered by Valeria's forces with Ravric leadign them. Yet, this was no simple victory.

For in the shadow of that war, two ancient forces collided.

Fáfnir Aro, the lost Dragon Emperor — once thought to be a myth — had awoken from his millennia-long god induced slumber only decades prior and he now stood in defense of Arkus, wielding power unlike anything the world had seen in ages. But his greatest battle was not against Valeria — it was against another legend reborn: Vaelthos, the first King of Valeria, returned from the grave.

Long believed to be dead for centuries, Vaelthos had been resurrected by the enigmatic goddess Xara for reasons known only to her. His reappearance shook the foundations of history, forcing Fáfnir to confront a being of terrible legacy and divine purpose.

The war nearly tore Atheria asunder, but when the dust settled, it was the Empire of Valeria who stood victorious and the draconic emperor gone for good with Vaelthos seemingly disappearing into memory once more.

The once-proud Empire of Trellion was no more. Its lands were absorbed, its people made subjects of Valeria, and the echoes of rebellion faded into uneasy silence.

THE NEW AGE

But beneath the triumph, shadows stirred — unknown forces, forgotten gods, and buried truths waited quietly, biding their time once more... including Xara who hadn't forgotten her promise to get revenge upon Zor'aneth. Thus, begun the new age of demons ruling Atheria entirely and a crown that had long forgotten it's cruel past.
