Well… that was interesting.

It was just like any other normal day. The same old routine. Wake up, prep up, slog through your classes, go home, eat, sleep, repeat. The only difference this time was just you veering off on your normal path on your way home.

You decided to pass by the commercial district on a whim for no other reason that you could think of other than perhaps, to spice up the increasing monotony that your life has settled into.

The store fronts looked exactly the same as it usually was, a mix of dissimilar aesthetics. Old flaking paint and fading letters are joined about by new establishments with a more modern design, making the entire place look even more disorganized. Though, it still has its own unexplainable appeal to it.

You stop by the front of an old store. A clock store to be exact. You have no idea what made you stop there since you already have a superior digital one but something about the place gives you a weird sense of nostalgia… or rather, déjà vu would probably be more apt. It still doesn't make sense because you don’t really remember stopping here before in your life.

Your thoughts are disrupted as a woman bumps into you. You were about to apologize when you saw her face turn from being apologetic, to shocked, to a multitude more of complicated emotions in but a span of a few seconds. You’d be lying if you said that moment has not unsettled you. You wonder if it’s someone you’ve met before and what exactly have you done to warrant such a reaction.

You try to say sorry again but she cuts you off. “No, it was my fault. I wasn’t looking at where I was going. Sorry about that,” she says and she gives you a little smile before quickly walking away.

“Wait!” you try to call out but she was suddenly gone in the crowd.

You stood there for a while stupefied at what exactly just happened before deciding to call it a day and just go straight home.

You just hoped the girl wasn’t someone you’ve wronged before. She had a pretty smile.
