Indisputable Proof Of The Need For Item Upgrading
World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
Item upgrading allows players to boost the gear score of an item up to 700 and add a final perk. Items can be upgraded by having them in inventory before heading to the kiln.
Certain items are worth upgrading due to their unique stats. (For example, a perfectly broken point armor that is rolled can be used in melee PvP). Other items, like weapons aren't changed much after an upgrade, and aren't worth it.
Weapons
Upgrades to weapons can increase their numerical stats, such as attack damage, crit chance and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons come with a flat-rate bonus that increases damage per second. Some weapons also come with a fixed bonus which is activated when three or more identical weapons are used in a single unit. In some cases this bonus can add up to more than the amount of damage that a weapon upgrades by itself.
A weapon's upgrade costs depend on the rarity of the weapon and its current level. For instance, a +2 weapon requires two regular Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade a gun will increase until it needs more Smithing Stones. At that point it will reset to one.
Upgrades to weapons also alter the stats of their base. While this is generally beneficial however, it could have negative consequences as well. For items that only see use in a certain build (Whistant's shield for FB sorcs, for instance), upgrading them may render them unusable unless you happen to have an extremely fortunate roll.
It is possible to upgrade armor items to improve their effectiveness. For instance, if you have chests or helms, this will increase its defense base while gloves and belts improve their required strength and dexterity. Armor also offers a reroll option for its Enhanced Defense percentage, which means that it can sometimes change its roll to a lower value.
The upgrade template for a weapon displays the new stats it will gain when upgraded, along with their respective values. This means that a change from an 8 attack-damage sword to an 11-attack-damage sword will result in the weapon gaining 3% of attack damage. The 3% doesn't mean that the weapon will hit 3 times less, as it is an absolute number.
Rerolling a weapon is also possible by pressing the green button on the item menu with the arrows that are circling. The item will be rerolled and alter its stats but it will not reset the weapon's level or connect it to an account's status.
Armor
Adding a few upgrades to your armor can make huge differences in your ability to endure. Certain sets can offer MASSIVE boosts to poison or curse, fire, and magic resistance, making the journey through difficult terrain a breeze. In general, the greater defense your character is, the more value you will get out of each point of health therefore it is important to improve your armor as often as you can.
To improve your armor, head to one of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four of them, and each requires you to complete a special side-quest involving the Stable Trotters musical troupe. After you've completed the main quest and the associated fountains, you'll be able to talk to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the armor upgrade menu.
Each piece of armor can be upgraded to three levels, and the amount of materials and Rupees required to complete each level will differ. It is possible to use anything between three Red Chuchu jelly and 10 Rupees to upgrade the first armor piece, and anywhere between five Rubies or ten Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns to upgrade the next one. The Champion Leathers, as an example, can be upgraded to an increase of 5 defense rating, which will allow you to remain competitive in frigid environments with a lot of enemies. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other side, can be upgraded as high as +20 defense to ensure you can survive a raid with your friends.
Be aware that armor can't be upgraded the same way as weapons, so you'll want to focus on enhancing it to increase physical strength if you're a Warrior or Spell Power when you're Mage. It is recommended to save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor that you'll still be wearing at the end of the story, like the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you'll wear in the final boss fight the Monter Parts Merchant Mask.
By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town in Gerudo Town, you can unlock perks for your armor. In general, you should save these upgrades for the weapon you'll be using to win the game, such as the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer, but it can be useful to have a few upgrades to your chest armor and helmets that let you stealthy battle certain monsters.
Potions
Potions are liquid substances that, if consumed, give the player a temporary status effect. There are five types of potions, each with different effects and durations. Some potions can be upgraded to improve their effectiveness. In addition the effects of some potions can be enhanced by adding glowstone dust or redstone to them.
Potion upgrades cost a certain amount of XP, which can be earned by making them on a crafting table or in the Alchemist's chest. The price of upgrades varies based on the type of potion as well as the item's rarity and Mark Level.
To upgrade item upgrading -click on it in your inventory. Then, select "Upgrade" from the menu. This will open a GUI that allows you to select the potions that you would like to upgrade and the amount of experience they will give you when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches of up to five at a time, and their XP will be added to the total amount of XP you have.
Once a potion has been upgraded, it won't degrade until you use it again, or break the bottle it is stored in. You can also rename the potion by clicking on it in your inventory.
There were a few changes to potion mechanics in version 1.7.2. Splash potions, for example have now a duration of zero, not the 22.5 seconds shown on the item hover display. The table of potion can now be constructed using four Wood Planks and two Glass. It can be utilized in both Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions aren't compatible with cauldrons, unlike Java Edition. The same applies to using a potion in an empty cauldron. This will draw out the liquid, and then refill the bottle.
Finally, there are simmering potions that are made using splash and dragon breath potions. In the same way, a lingering potion can be enhanced by adding redstone to it. The table of potion ingredients is now laid out more in line with the Java Edition, and new potions were introduced, including the potion of leaping and the decomposition potion, as well as turtle master potions.
Trinkets
A trinket can be a small, inexpensive ornament or piece jewelry. It could also be an ornament or object that serves a function but is not important as a Thimble. In some cultures a trinket can be used to express friendship or affection between family members.
Players can upgrade trinkets in addition to weapons and armor, as well as potions. These can be upgraded by visiting an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate amount in currency. Trinkets unlike other items which can be upgraded can be traded at will without losing stats.
Upgrade vendors can be found at the capitals of each zone, and in some instances in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets can be bought with tokens, gold or fragments of rare trinkets.
Upgrades are a cheaper alternative to buying a brand new trinket. One can upgrade their trinket for as little 12 tokens. The new trinket will feature the same base ilvl as the old one, and will come with an additional upgrade bonus of 1.
When the old Trinkets are no longer useful they can be upgraded. This allows a player to increase their power and value over time. They can be traded among players, making them an alternative to gold.
In general, players should upgrade their highest priority items first. This means that the top-in slot items for each class are first upgraded, followed by their secondary gear and other pieces of equipment that will not replace in the near future (such as a ring or an cloak). Players should also consider their class's preferred stats when selecting which items to upgrade. For example, if Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for a tank, they should be focusing on upgrading their chest, helm shoulders, belt, and chest.
When they are no longer useful, trinkets can be upgraded to a higher level. The upgraded trinket will give you an additional 1% bonus. A re-upgrade, however, will cause the trinket to be destroyed unless it can be salvaged with the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a higher tier salvage tool. This makes upgrading trinkets more expensive than other upgrades, yet is still cheaper than purchasing the new one.
