[02:04] What did it mean, to be a Wayfinder?
What did it mean to comb through the very fabric of reality?
To protect it?
"..."
Maria was born into a family of Wayfinders. It was a different duty to her than most, as she was expected to carry on the family legacy. Ever since she was the mere age of nine, did she read books and solve complex metaphysical theories regarding the passage of the Lifestream. Was she as smart as her sibling, Lavenza?
Of course not.
She'd never reach them.
She'd never be able to solve complex equations on the fly, or understand the metaphysical theories that put Wayfinding into practice. She'd never be able to know what it meant, to be a true Wayfinder. To call upon the Lifestream and twist it to your will. To protect it, and the timelines fixated deeply into that fragile thread.
Or would she?
No, there was something different that came to her studies. Amere curiosity, a picture of a mystery hiding deep within. Something that she had to discover, deep down. Maria did not know her father. Did she...even have one?
Just who was Maria? Her identity, her purpose...her redemption?
Did the key lie in the pages of this journal? In the pages of Elysia Dawnseeker does she attempt to find her answer. Clear as day, the mystery of her existence perhaps being revealed upon those white pages.
Of course not.
"..."
Everytime she asked her mother who was her father, she was given nothing. Every time she questioned her disability, was she given nothing. Why was she born? And for what purpose would she serve? How would she find her way? Through this desolate, dark world?
Perhaps the answer lied in the pages of this journal. Of a Dawnseeker.
"..."
She reads.
Introduction...
She knew what Wayfinding was already. A process of teleportation through the Lifestream and it's threads. A more precise and gentle craft compared to Riftmancy, which damaged both the Lifestream and the space around it. Glyphs are created through a Magi's attunement to the Lifestream, Runeweaving being the act of using spiritual energy to write commands to cast spatial magic. Maria new how to weave runes as an Artificer, yet while similar, Runeweaving was a separate craft too the ones created by an artificer.
Yet...
"..."
She was bad at this, wasn't she?
In this desolate and silent hallway admist the halls of Prospera, does Maria continue to read the pages upon her brow. Runeweaving was never her strong suit. Sure, she was an artificer and could weave basic ones with ease, as with most artificers. But the complexity of weaving her spiritual energy to create commands and cast spatial magic? It was difficult for her. The swiftness and complexity to merely teleport an apple a few feet away. The calculations were intense, and while Maria had a notebook full of practice runes, she was hesitant to weave them into reality.
Alas, it always started with that first step.
In these desolate halls, does she begin her first weave. She locks eyes with a rune scrawled upon one of her pages. A simple weave, with an Arithmic calculation to send something mere feet away. A simple command, a simple gesture.
She begins.
"..."
The rune is practiced upon, as she weaves her will into reality. Maria focuses her mana on a book mere feet away, attempting to create a rune and weave her mana so that she can send it a few feet through the lifestream. While the rne and Arithmatic was complex, it did not mean it was impossible. She flicks her wrist, writing the rune placed upon her fingers into reality.
"..."
(roll 2)
A failure.
She fails the creation of the rune, a huff escaping the mute's lips. Again, again, and again, and again, does she practice. For hours even, until this rune was burrowed into her mind.
"!!!"
"Aaagh!" While she was mute, her vocal cords were mostly in tact. Anger takes a hold of her, eventually. In these silent and desolate halls, her failure to grasp such a simple rune would burrow into her psyche. An insecurity, and her inability to grasp such complex Arithmatic as hard as she' try. Even the simplest of portals required precision.
Precision...
Was that the key?
BANG!
Maria quickdraws her pistol, shooting the book that had caused her so much frustration with her failure to even attempt to write such a simple glyph and calculation. She couldn't even open the first magic circle into the Netherworld, attune herself to leylines beyond her control.
And yet...
"???"
A tilt of her head, as she'd find a crack in reality. It would last a split second, before it repairs itself, the mana bullet coincidently colliding with the glyph below the book.

[02:20] [TRANSCEIVER]
{Maliland02das} Majora Malibu transmits: "Is Behi with you?"
[02:21] A craft fueled by passion and desire.
What was Maria's?
"..."
She takes a closer look at this 'tear', analyzing it with a gentle eye before it would eventually repair itself. Breathing life into the magic, exentuating your will upon the Lifestream, understanding it to it's fullest...
Like a cog and gears of a machination.
A window into the Netherworld, if not for a moment.
How could she invoke this circle without straining herself, so? She gazes at her pistol, the smoke still bellowing from it's embrace. An idea comes to mind, and experiment. What if she can connect the mana flowing through her pistol with a glyph and form an attachment to the Lifestream's leylines?
It was worth a shot. And...perhaps easier than creating the glyphs herself. Infusing her pistol with the glyphs, shooting them to create the portals...
"...Mm..." she gets to work, placing her pistol on the table below her. She casts a glyph that would soon form under the pistol, one that would be forged in her notebook many of time and permanently etched into memory. Her first time creating these glyphs, and skirting upon the edge of reality...
The Arithmatic attaches itself to the pistol, Maria providing modifications so that the revolver's speed would be enough to create a small portal. Infusing the revolver with the glyph, the girl tries again. Picking up her pistol and aiming at a nearby book this time.
(roll 5!)
'Bang!'
The glyph launches itself through the bullet, skirting through the leylines of reality, infused with a runic touch. It collides with book, destroying it in a glimpse of mana. The flash blinds Maria, before she finds her efforts finally having paid off.
The book launches itself in a blast of light, disappearing for a split second before another bullet is fired mere feet away. The rune sends the book through the edge of the lifestream, launching it toward the ground with another blast. It appears in a burst of light, tumbling on the ground mere feet away.
The first step of many.
"!!!"
She gasps, clutching her pistol to her chest. It worked! She had sent something a few feet away from herself! Of course, this was a mere simple rune. More complex ones would require even more precision and calculation. For now, however?
She had succeeded.
Again and again, does she launch her bullets through the library. She skirts upon reality, sending tomes flying through the air and sent mere feet away through precise gunshots. She was a crack shot, her precision with her pistol and ability to infuse mana and glyphs into it giving her the precision needed to send objects mere feet away. Eventually, does the glyph lose it's luster, a final bullet sending a pen a few feet away before her revolver loses it's mana.
A sigh escapes her lips. A first step of many, it would seem. Practice makes perfect. Glyphs written upon the edge of a revolver.

Again, and again, and again, and again, and again...
Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!
She practices, converting this book into naught but pure energy
[Requirement]
[Limit]
[Precision]
Alas...
She had made a miscalculation. A final shot tears through reality, causing an explosion of light. She'd fail at copying motes back into the physical plane, returning the book into naught but a burst of light. The explosion would be rather loud...
Hopefully no one heard that.
Yet, did Maria make much progress in her efforts. She holsters her pistol, passionate and ready to begin her delve into this art once again another day. She had created basic glyphs and allowed herself to weave runes with precision. It was a good thing she was a crack shot...
Yet as with all things...
Was there ever more to unveil.
