Cadence the Sociable

"Hello! Who are you, I haven't seen you before? Wanna be friends? I love making friends!"  

Cadence the sociable is a student at the school on Oxford Street in Degrees of Lewdity. He is seen to be friendly and kind to most people he meets, but is regarded as dimwitted or oblivious by many.

They are a minor character in the game, serving as a love interest for Leighton the Headmaster, someone they are implied to be in a "secret" relationship with. By befriending this character, the player is given insight into their life and their relationship with the headmaster. Seemingly, this character can only maintain a neutral or positive standing with the player, relatively.

Voice claim is Chihiro Komiya from Shonen Maid, although his voice is usually a bit higher as it raises when he talks/emotes.

STORY SPOILERS
Abandoned by his parents at the orphanage before he can remember. He doesn't know his family, but he truly believes someday they will come back for him. For now, he waits at the orphanage until that day comes, despite no indication they will be coming back.

He grew up on cartoons and comics, and this definitely translated i to how he sees the world. He has this almost unbridled optimism that things will get better. He's often referred to as positive, at times too positive when bad things happen. It could be said that this may be due to his notably low awareness.

Currently, he busies himself doing chores and odd jobs for others, he helps out around the orphanage helping Bailey out as well. He tries to be as kind as he can, and befriend anyone he meets.

Description

A boy with bright orange hair and dark purple eyes. He has pale skin with freckles, his thighs are sometimes seen bruised. In some official art he is seen with a small fang. He has hime bangs and pigtails tied at his chin which hang to his chest. He is usually seen wearing a white bunny bow on his head. Cadence dresses in mainly pinks, whites, and yellows. Due to his interest in jfashion, he can sometimes be seen wondering the streets dressed in frilly dresses with a parasol. His demeanor is bright and open, usually being willing to talk to anyone he approaches. He believes everyone is a potential friend so he is overly trusting and open to everyone he meets. He has had a huge crush on Leighton as he puts, "since the moment they met." Leighton often finds his attempts to help and constant habit of following him around irritating, but seems to have warmed up after awhile.

First Meeting

Upon meeting Cadence, you will see this text introducing him:
"You stand at your locker, gathering your books. From the hallway you hear a loud voice, causing you to turn suddenly. A bright-haired boy bounds past you, seemingly running after the headmaster who is trying to ignore him. He smiles happily, waving to other students as he runs by."
This event happens randomly during the first week of school from Monday to Thursday during school hours.

Schedule

After the initial meeting dialogue, Cadence can be seen infront of the school from 6:00AM-6:59AM waiting at the school gate, you can stop to chat with him for 20 minutes. Starting at 7:00AM, Cadence will randomly appear in the halls and in the History classroom speaking to Winter. He skips swimming class, which at higher interest he will explain is due to the fact he is intersex. He worries about people spreading rumors and asks the player to "please keep ot a secret." After school he can be found wandering the streets or playing volleyball at the beach, where you can join him to increase interest. On weekends from 8:00AM-9:00PM he will be randomly wandering the streets where you can greet him and chat briefly. If volleyball is occuring, he will probable be there too. On non-school days past 9:00PM, there is a low chance to text about seeing a car that looks like Leighton's driving by with Cadence in the passenger seat, this increases stress by one point.

Relationship

The player's relarionship with Cadence is determinant on the player's behavior. Usually this relarionship is either neutral or positive, negative encounters have not been written out yet besides a few answers.
There is one scene which decreases interest which is assisting Whitney in bullying him. This is one of the only known ways to lower his interest. Other than that, most interactions with Cadence are positive.
As the relationship grows the player will get more insight on Cadence's life and relaitonship with Leighton, which the player comments seems unhealthy.

Interactions

Note: The following events are not considered as a full, comprehensive list of Cadence's interactions in the game - but more rather their most notable interactions. As such, minor events may not be listed belie. However, more interactions will be listed below as the character remains in development.

Most interactions happen at the school (front gate at 6:00AM until school ends). As stated, after school they will be playing volleyball or wondering the steets on non-school days.

At 0-10% interest: "Cadence knows of you"
11-39% interest: "Cadence is trying to get to know you."
At 40-59% interest "Cadence wants to be your friend."
60-85% interest: "Cadence is your friend."
86-100% interest: "Cadence adores hanging out with you."

SCENES TO BE ADDED

Trivia

• Cadence has many nicknames, either chosen himself or given by others: Clover, Clementine, Cade, etc. In the future there may be options to add a nickname of your choosing.
• He keeps a photo of Leighton in his locket
• Cadence is intersex, having both sets of parts. As revealed in dialogue, this makes him avoid swimming classes.
• "Whimsy, sunshine, and fun connoisseur"
• Cadence has notably low awareness
• He runs a jfashion account and interacts with fandom
• He is implied to be neurodivergent, adhd and/or autism is suspected
