How is Christianity a cult?

  1. Unwavering devotion : The theological concept itself demands absolute obedience - freedom of choice? Well it’s literally be Christian or burn forever, which totally screams freedom. /sar
  2. Political Christianity : Imposes excessive control towards non-believers in the way they are allowed to live, ALSO moral policing - homophobia, anti-abortion, etc.

The only reason mainstream religions aren’t classified as a cult is because it’s mainstream. Usually cults have to be more niche and have a smaller community - ie. Scientology / Mormons.

  • Expecting people to follow their belief blindly with no questions.
  • Not allowed to allow non-believers to ‘taint’ their mind.
  • A magical ‘cure’ only they have to help you with your many problems. (While also claiming doctors don’t know anything and are ‘of the devil’ to better convince you only they have the cure.)
