Torrenting/Piracy FAQ

• Q: What software should I use to torrent?
• A: We recommend qBittorrent. A torrent client is essential for downloading files via torrent files, which is different from direct downloads.
• Q: What browser should I use?
• A: We recommend using Firefox + uBlock Origin. Firefox is the top non-Chromium browser, offering good security and privacy features. It also has the best compatibility with uBlock Origin for blocking ads and harmful web content.
• Q: Windows Defender keeps detecting malware and deleting files
• A: Windows Defender (and most virus detection software) flags most software cracks, keygens and patchers as malware. All of the resources we offer are checked for malware and are safe. To prevent Windows from deleting files you'll have to temporarily turn off "Real Time Protection" which you can learn how to do in this video
• Q: What trustworthy sources should I use for DAWs, VSTs, Libraries, Sample packs, etc?
• A: rutracker.org (or rutracker.net), audioz (this one is good but it's not user friendly at all but it may still be useful), nnty.fun 90's cd's things (this website tends to be down from time to time but there is an archive of it in the Internet Archive which you can find here)
• Q: I can't access rutracker.org (or certain other websites)
• A: You can either use rutracker.net or change your DNS in your browser settings. We recommend changing it to Cloudflare's DNS (NOT to be confused with cloudflare WARP). If none of these solutions work, try using a VPN. Keep in mind that rutracker sometimes has issues and is down for a few minutes.
• Q: Can I get in trouble for torrenting?
• A: If you do NOT live in the USA or in Germany, you can torrent without any worries. If you reside in either one of those countries you will need a VPN.
  In order for your VPN to actually work when torrenting you have to "Bind" it to your torrent client. To do this in qBittorrent, open "Settings", go to "Advanced", and change the network interface to your VPN. Guide
  We recommend Mullvad or Proton VPN. (The Proton VPN free version CANNOT be bound to torrent clients)
