What Freud Can Teach Us About Item Upgrades
World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
The upgrade feature for items lets players upgrade their equipment. This can be accomplished by any item upgrade r NPC.
Generally, upgrades boost an item's main stat and can give it additional benefits based on the type. Examples include Whistan's shield for FB sorcs, or Goldwrap for build casters.
Armour
Armour is one of the key things that keeps Link safe from harm in all situations. Although it isn't able to be upgraded like weapons, it can be improved in various ways to increase its defence capabilities.
The principle of armour is to protect animals or people from harm or injury in the form of direct physical assault or from a range of dangers posed by the environment and activities. In the past, armour was typically constructed from leather or fabric but later, protections made of metal were used as well particularly in military applications like heavy cavalry or combat drones.
Like weapons there are a myriad of ways in which armor can be upgraded but the majority of them require visiting one of the four Great Fairy Fountains located throughout Hyrule. Each fountain has its own degree of upgrades available with higher levels of upgrades granting higher levels of protection, and needing a higher amount of rupees and materials to unlock.
The first thing to note about Armor Upgrades is that they are upgrades that last forever which means that once they've been applied they cannot be replaced unless you have another piece of equipment that comes with the same upgrade. It is important that you only apply the highest grade of upgrades to your equipment and that you have enough of the materials needed to complete them.
For those who want to acquire the necessary upgrade components to upgrade your character, they are available all over Hyrule including merchants, shrines and even enemies. They are usually marked with an gold circle or blue triangle, and can be found in large quantities as you progress through the game. They could appear randomly, however there is a chance that obtaining certain upgrades can trigger a quest that will reward you with more.
It's also worth noting that even though the amount of protection offered by each upgrade is different but it's the same for all upgrades and will always be better than nothing. This is because a full set of upgraded armor will grant you a high defense boost that protects you from all kinds of attacks except magic and makes it a formidable tool for any class.
Weapons
You can upgrade your guns with special upgrades that make them truly unique. They can increase the damage, alter the weapon's stats to cater to your particular build or even unlock new attachments, such as unique ammo types, enchantments, and aesthetic options.
You'll need both the upgrade component and the weapon itself to upgrade it. The weapon should be at least a certain level before you can upgrade it. Most weapons can only accept a single upgrade.
There are weapons upgrade components scattered throughout the globe and even from enemies, or they can be purchased from merchants. The upgrade components themselves are made up of ingredients that can be slotted into weapons, armor trinkets and gathering tools to provide an attribute bonus or extra effect while they're in use. They require that the equipment be of a certain degree to allow the upgrade. They can be upgraded in the same manner as other items.
The upgrades themselves are a combination of Smithing Stones and Runes, and can be used to enhance the stats of the base weapon and improving its scaling with other stats. These upgrades are available from enemies in the open world, or from merchants. They can also be dropped by combat.
There are two NPCs that can upgrade your weapons: Blacksmith Hewg in the Roundtable Hold hub area and the Smithing Master Iji in the Road to the Manor hub area. Both of these NPCs accept your Smithing Stones or Runes to upgrade your weapon.
Prioritize upgrading your top-in-slot items first. Then, upgrade the items that you're not likely to replace in the near future. Upgrade your weapon first, and then upgrade your chest, shoulders, hands, and feet if you plan to play in a melee-based build. The same principle applies to Magic and Utility Items. However, depending on the style you play, certain procs will be more beneficial than others. Armour is the same, with certain refining better than others.
Magic Items
A character can only upgrade one item of magic at one time. If an upgrade project is cancelled, no more upgrades will be planned for that item. Magic items that are upgraded cost double the gold they would normally cost to create or purchase, but they can also offer additional benefits.
A magical item could be any item with special properties or effects. Most of these items are weapons, but there are some that are also armor, shields, cloaks, potions, scrolls, rings and other items. Certain of these items can be made to speak.
The majority of magic items be enhanced in their abilities. This makes them more useful to players, or could help them conquer any difficult situation. Infused weapons can offer bonuses to damage against a particular enemy type, for example. This is particularly useful for characters that have reached a stage at which they are likely to encounter the same kind of monster in dungeons over and over again.
A ring that is infused with magic could grant immunity to nonmagical attacks that bludgeon, pierce or slash (excluding silvered attacks) until the character is given a second rest. This is especially beneficial for combatants who are melee or anyone who would like to avoid the expense and hassle of buying a shield.
Certain items enchanted by magic have special powers that allow the character to cast spells in addition to those on their class's spell list. This is useful for a character who has difficulty filling their spell slots due to multiclassing. These items that are enchanted typically require an Intelligence (Arcana) check to use them, and the spell's effectiveness is determined by rolling on an array of tables that is based on the number Intelligence points spent.
Other objects with enchanted powers could allow the character's appearance be changed, or they could even create a completely new one. These are particularly beneficial for characters who have had to leave their home, or are in a place where they might not be welcome. An enchanted item might grant them an invisibility effect, or even make them invisible to everyone except a chosen person.
Utility Items
Utility items are products that do not fall under the categories of Armor, Clothing or Weapons and have a range of different capabilities. In contrast to weapons and armor and Clothing, no utility item will be in conflict with the other. Most utility items have an effect that the player can activate by using them, however, some come with additional capabilities that are triggered when the user presses a button or activates a skill.
The Flashlight is the most popular utilitarian item. It lights up the area around it. Other utilities include the Helicopter Hat and Rocket Boots, which allow players to fly in the air while moving, and the Jetpack which allows players to accelerate in any direction while on the ground. A variety of utilitarian items can be quickly created in the Engineering section, while others can be unlocked through research projects or projects in the Proving Ground.
Players can gain more powerful utility items in addition to the ones they have in their usual inventory by purchasing them at the Atomic Shop or from seasonal Scoreboard rewards. Certain of these items can be upgraded to increase their effectiveness.
Most utility items enhance an individual combat ability or give the player some sort of advantage in navigation. Sharpening stones, created by the Weaponsmith will increase power and Ferocity while Maintenance Oils, created by an Huntsman will increase concentration and healing power. Other utility items can be used by the player to boost Damage or Condition Damage.
All XCOM soldiers can equip a utility item at the beginning of the campaign. Later, an additional slot becomes available by equipping certain types of armor or completing engineering, research or experiments in the Proving Ground. During the Alien Hunters DLC, additional slots are added by equipping the Grenade Launcher which allows the player to equip a Smoke Grenade or Bomb in another grenade slot. an offensive grenade can be placed in the main slot for grenades.
