The Tale of Ouro Kronii

Long ago, there lived a man who cultivated a special crop he called "idols." He went to mountain and field, cut his crops, and put them to various use. His name was Yagoo. One day, it happened that Yagoo found a crop which shone at the base; the puzzled Yagoo cut the crop and found a light at its interior. On nearer approach, Yagoo found the resplendent light to emanate from a single girl, a tiny human only three inches in height. It was the most beautiful sight he had ever seen.
"The Heavens must have sent you to be my child," Yagoo said, "for I have found you in the fields where I cut my crop each and every morning." Yagoo took the beauty in his hand, brought her home, and gave her to his wife to rear. The wife kept the girl in a basket, so tiny and fragile was she. The couple were happy, and they showered the child with joyous love.
In their care, the child grew quickly, and three months passed in the blink of an eye. In that time, Yagoo's crop turned plentiful; each and every crop he cut rewarded him with brilliant gold and Yagoo became a wealthy man. The girl, in turn, grew to the size of an adult; she became so wondrous a beauty that she was raised in solitude, sequestered away from prying eyes. Her beauty filled the house with a gentle radiance, bright enough to temper the aged Yagoo's every distress.
In time, the day came for Yagoo to bestow a name upon the girl; by divine providence, the name was determined as Ouro Kronii, for her beauty was such that time itself appeared to bend to her. Yagoo celebrated the naming with a festival; for three days, music and merriment filled the air. The image of the lovely Kronii was spread far and wide, with suitors throughout the world begging for her hand.
The glut of suitors, so great was their gall, remained at Yagoo's home, begging in earnest to meet with the beauty; in time their wishes provided impossible and many returned home, reluctant and empty-handed. All except five, whose intent proved strong enough to grow with the passing of the days; these five became known as the last kronies. They went without meals and often without sleep, hoping in vain with Kronii to meet. They stood in all weather, in sunshine and rain; they stood resolute as the moon would wane. In this hopeless state, seasons passed, yet none of the five faltered and Yagoo met with Kronii and pled. He remarked upon her his final wish; as he grew to his twilight years, he hoped to see her married before he passed.
"I pray you would meet them, one at a time, for one of them must prove suitable to beauty so divine."
Kronii stood unsure, believing this unwise; nonetheless she relented to Yagoo's pleas. To prove their worth, she asked of each a special item; a present she desired. From one, a veil said to be held by death itself. From another, a tome guarded by a mass of tentacles. From a third, a watch hidden in the throes of time. From the fourth, a feather plucked from a phoenix's tail. And from the fifth, a tooth belonging to a fearsome creature in the depths of Atlantis.
Yagoo relayed her wishes to the five kronies; she would consent to marry whomever could bring these impossible items.
