journal)

FOSFOR
The first real weapon I've ever made (not counting the
firecrackers, slingshots, and that one time I wound up
making a white-hot fire with some metals... Boy, I got
in trouble for that one, I'll never confess this to my
parents but I absolutely wrote the recipe for this down!)
Fosfor is a custom made retractable flail/whip of my own
design, built from some artifacts my Grandpappy Nerrick
let me use, leftovers from his Bardic adventuring days.
The handle is capable of flash-forming an enchanted chain
made of rock-hard gems, which channels a binding force
through each as it extends, essentially magnetically linking them.
This gives the whip extreme flexibility, letting me really
swing this thing! On the end of the chain I've affixed
a kinesis gem, which can build up momentum and store it
as raw energy before releasing it with explosive
results on impact!
However I've been testing out a new addition to the whip,
that alchemical mattock Blaz got from his new Dwarf
friend is something else: It's capable of drawing out
the life force of struck targets and converts it into a
sphere of raw magical healing. Blaz was nice enough
to let me study it and I think I've managed to
replicate it!
This addition to my whip's warhead is capable "marking"
targets with a residual magical field that releases
stored life force when the target is slain. Admittedly
this kinda magic is a little on the dark side, but I am
using it for a good cause!
I'll have to show this off to Blaz once I get back to
Lothar, hopefully Blaz hasn't had any problems in the
past month I've been gone...

SIROC
The second weapon I've made! I assembled this compact
little gun with some other goodies from Grandpappy's
box of artifacts, though I'll be honest: I struggled
to figure out a good feeding mechanism for this thing
for nearly two weeks. I don't get stumped by things!
Then it happened late one night in the library, I had
stepped away from the center table where I left my
notes in the hopes of finding another book that might
have given me the inisght I was searching so hard for.
When I heard some rustling behind me. Back at the
table I had just walked away from.
It was like three in the morning when this happened,
I nearly jumped out of my skin, and I wasn't even
shedding! When I went to go check the source of the
sound, I spotted something humanoid making its way
out towards the front door. This was especially
troubling because there aren't any humans in our
little Kobold village. I didn't get a good look at
whatever it was because it had moved away from the
lantern on the table, but it was wearing armor of
some kind, and it had a rounded helmet on its head.
When I asked the patrolling guard outside if he had
seen anything, he was convinced I was just pulling
his tail and making stories up! I hadn't pulled any
pranks or told any lies in weeks! Just because I've
had a track record of mischief doesn't mean I'm not
ALWAYS up to something, I mean come on! Though I'm
glad he took pity on me when he saw how distraught
and confused I was, told me I should probably pack
up my things and get some sleep.
So when I went back inside the library, you could
imagine my surprise when I saw some blueprints for
a handgun. After studying for a bit, I could safely
confirm one thing, and I'd never admit this to anyone...
But whoever came up with those plans was a genius.
I'd never seen a feed mechanism quite like this! It was
just the very thing I was looking for, I didn't see
any names or signatures on the plans, but there was
a name for the design itself at least: Siroc. I
decided to keep that name out of respect for whoever
came up with this, plus it does sound cool.
Siroc contains a small internal generator that's
constantly making a special resin that's then
flash-hardened into a spherical bullet and launched
at high velocity. It's capable of doing this at a
blistering rate of fire. I'm not a great shot, so
volume of fire is my secret there! The only downside
is the gun needs a moment to recharge if I fire for too
long. A momentary compromise I had to make to keep
it so compact.
When I'm not using Siroc to riddle things with holes,
I can also use the resin to patch things up, the
strong adhesive means even quick repair jobs aren't
going to budge anytime soon!

THE MULTITOOL
I've made Fosfor and Siroc deeply entwined with one
another, I can load Fosfor into the upper reciever of Siroc,
using the whip as both a focal point and an additional
power source!
This combined form allows me to fire off some heavy
duty rivets. Normally I'd use this multitool for
securing things together, but it also works wonders
in a fight. I can also fold the grip of Siroc up
and change it into a toolbox, giving me access
to all manner of extra tools and functions.
With just these two tools I effectively have an
entire workshop in my hands!

RINGS OF POWER
(the following entry is hastily written)
Demons! Something is wrong at Lothar, there's a big
ugly tower that's sprouted up in the middle of the place
and I just had a run in with a roving group of demons
that were chasing down some poor old timer. I drove
them off but the old man was too badly wounded, gave
me a pair of rings, told me how his team had managed
to crack the code!! These rings are capable of tapping
into the magical building blocks that effectively
make everything around us: Aether and Matter! The
demons had caught wind of their breakthrough and
were seeking the rings out for themselves! The old
man was trying to get these things into the hands of
the lord of Lothar (that's Blaz!) for safekeeping.
I made a promise to that old man that I'd get them
to Blaz, which I -will- but... I've just been given
a pair of potentially the most potent artifacts that
mortals have made! I wound up giving these rings an
accidental test run when some ABSOLUTE BASTARD demons
wrecked my cart when I was busy helping the old timer!
The ring of Aether that I put on my left hand sort of
channeled itself into my gun, splitting the resin bullets
into a triple shot of pure energy! The ring of Mattter
on my right hand transformed my whip into a hyper-dense
flail of some unknown metal, colliding with a force that
rivals a full charge of my kinetic whip warhead!
My weapons seem to be in a state of flux at the moment,
as I can feel the magic of the rings flow in and out of them.
What I wouldn't give for more time to study this and
really figure out how to make the rings work. I am
certain these magical energies will play off my synch
system and the multitool as well!
I have to leave my cart behind and go to the tower on
foot. Blaz will surely be there, and I am certain he
will need my help on this one. After all, I served a
key role in our little adventure just a month ago!
